  1. I do like some things Ron Paul proposes but I truely haven't decided who I'm going to vote for yet. But I am going to vote regardless of who is on the ballot. And most people who support Ron Paul do so in a die hard fashion. But let me ask you what will you do when he doesn't do all the stuff he promises to do? Haven't we already heard tons of promises from every person who has ran or even won that didn't do them? We can't assume one person is the end all answer and great "hope" like many did last election. I don't dislike RP or his supporters, hell I might even vote for him as I'm still undecided but I can see how some of his supporters come across in an undesirable way. But politics is a hot topic that brings out emotions and angers many.
  2. A regular Mormon Rambo.
  3. Too much time on their hands since they won't let them deport illegals anymore.
  4. Should say either former police officer or permit holder. Luckily this idiot isn't a cop anymore.
  5. Yes Tennessee allows LE to make a detention/committal for mental health issues. They typically just transport you to the appropriate facility for evaluation or are called to transport to the final institution. This sucks by the way. You are almost guaranteed to spend an entire shift watching someone who is being committed. I haven't had too many in years but typically they were people threatening suicide on the spot or mental issues that resulted into drastic situations due not taking medication and resulted into armed conflicts. Nobody reallys knows this guy's true story. It involves medical information which isn't public record so people will jump to conclusisions. I would dare say something was there to put the doctor in belief about his mental state. I have only seen one hospital over zelous with the emergency commmital the rest usually reserve it for it's needed and intended purposes.
  6. 6 months. Here is a TN website that states it. http://www.tn.gov/safety/handgun/qualifications.shtml
  7. Is she actually doing anything to endanger the child or creating a hazardous enviroment for the child? Not much information from just your post. I can understand people not liking everybody's style of raising a child but the law allows some leeway. Spanking your child is still legal and believe me I had plenty of it growing up as I'm sure most here did. If you believe something is wrong call DCS and they will initiate a investigation and if it appears to need LE involvement they will contact the appropriate department. You can also keep anonymous on your complaint or not it's your choice.
  8. He can try any crazy defense he wants but he will be brought back for trial. I hadn't really kept of with the whole case but I had heard something about shipping firearms to other countries labeled as other items to hide them. I think they will make an example out of him publicly.
  9. That is incorrect. If a driver's license is cancelled, suspended, or revoked it can be seized by any officer and must be sent back to the state. You should get a license receipt upon it being taken.
  10. You should be able to get it from your typical insurance provider. I had renters insurance through state farm that had a $10,000 policy just for my firearms. May check with each company to see the amount they cover. This was on top of the regular property coverage and with already having auto insurance with them it was super cheap.
  11. You have no obligation to render aid. If someone puts you in the position to use deadly force to protect your life or your loved ones' lives then they can wait for the emergency services to arrive. I'll say this if someone causes me to be in fear of my life to have to use my firearm they get handcuffed as normal and when the ambulance arrives they can do what they do best. If it happens at home they get covered until responding units arrive to take him in custody or for medical treatment then his free ride to jail.
  12. A nightstick vs a knife is no no. Would you go to your yard and find a stick to hit someone who is armed with a knife? I don't know the whole story but firearm is the only logical choice versus a knife.
  13. Last time I went through there wasn't anything to attract any attention. I know back a few years ago they wiped away their entire police force and hired one guy to attempt to rebuild it but the city has barely any budget.
  14. Don't worry about it even though most cops in TN are just average people who wouldn't trample on anyone's constitutional rights there will be people you can never convince that on here and other places. Just let them believe what they want. Oh and the tinfoil hat wearers will never believe there isn't a gun registration log being maintained via cops running serial numbers on NCIC. It's useless to attempt to change anyone's opinion or thoughts on the website just look for good bargains and funny stories.
  15. If he doesn't like it he can always drive. That's what they would tell anybody else.
  16. It wouldn't have any bearing on car rental companies that install gps on their cars. They aren't held by the 4th Amendment they aren't a government agency. It's been a normal practice to have a warrant for tracking devices but they let their warrant expire and then installed the device outside the area the warrant allowed. They asked for their cases to get the boot. I am glad it does require a warrant at the very least.
  17. I thought it was already brought up before but may have been another forum I read. The other one is a LE forum and most agree it seems to be a clear violation of rights. New York is just nuts I use to want to visit there to see some sights but I can honestly say I could care less to ever visit it now.
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes either way.
  19. Maybe I'm confused as to the question. Do you mean when is it required dependent on charges, political office, or anything high profile? Grand Jury is the only way in TN to get a charge in Criminal Court other than bound over by a waiver from General Sessions if i recall correctly. Doesn't matter what the charge or profile of the case.
  20. You sir have not heard of the great Chuck Norris! lol Had to throw that in there and break up the uptight conversation.
  21. That is going to hurt because THP's tickets are through general sessions and that usually means higher court costs. As far as a defense you know if he wasn't wearing his campaign hat he can't write a ticket. Do a school if you want to keep the points off your license.
  22. I use to drive an unmarked car at my last department was the fortunate winner of a drunk at 50mph into my car while I was stopped. So i'm paranoid about about my lights even more now. I know some of these lights are pushing the limit at night of being blinding but if most people would get out of the way while I'm going to an emergency call or not come at my car at 70mph on the interstate and wait 5ft from my bumper to move over I wouldn't use them. My bar has a low option so if I'm stationary at night with them on I'll turn them to low hoping they won't blind drivers.
  23. Those are definitely the typical South Nashville gangs. They aren't anything to play with either. But good job on what you do and keep safe doing it. It would be nice if the idiots would get the message and just stop tagging stuff.
  24. May sound crazy but it works great. Get some neosporin put a little on q-tip rub along inside your nose. Also I use a sinus rinse every so often it helps somewhat to moisten it. I get especially bad dry sinuses and nose bleeds during this time of year and this has helped me greatly.
  25. That makes me laugh every time I see it.
