  1. Wish I weren't working, sounds interesting.
  2. Spyderco Sharpmaker
  3. I used the Aeroshell grease last build. I love the stuff. I bought some of the little 1 oz jars off of eBay...quite handy to keep them stowed here and there.
  4.   I've made a bunch of those kydex/leather hybrid IWB holsters. I only used 5-6 oz leather once, because I had a Chicago screw holding a clip pop through the leather on me. I was able to fix it by using a wide hard rubber washer. Luckily it was a freebie for a friend at work and not for a paying customer. He specifically asked for thinner leather, so I tried it. Won't waste my time with leather that thin again for that style of holster. Hardware, like screws, puts too much stress on the fibers.
  5.   In a showdown or duel like they do in the westerns, my money would be on Mr. Munden. Also, I've never seen Mr. Miculek shoot an aspirin out of mid-air.   On a plate rack or any kind of real-world moving and shooting scenario, my bet's on Mr. Miculek though.   Nonetheless, I would absolutely LOVE to have seen them side-by-side in any kind of match.
  6. I'm glad some are having luck with them. I can't say the same.   I picked up a scope on sale from them and it was 50% less a week later. Even worse, the scope went up $50 a week after that AND they'd bundled it with a Burris mount worth $80. To add insult to injury, my scope took 5 weeks to arrive.   I should have cancelled and re-ordered the same item at the cheaper price, but I had no clue it hadn't shipped yet at the time.
  7. great shooting alright, especially the DA shots at that distance...CZ makes a fine weapon
  8.   That is AWESOME news!! Kudos on your vigilance and congrats on recovering your gear.

    NRA BS

I couldn't possibly agree more on every point!   They can't be good at what they do without our money and our membership. I don't give as much as I'd like to be abl to and nowhere near as much as they'd like, but LOVE what they do and support it as much as I can.   Those gun owners out there watching us due-paying NRA members do the lifting are no better than the thousands on welfare that live off the sweat our brows through our taxes.
  10. sorry to hear about your mower, but glad to hear about your son's initiative with the yard and his sense of self-reliance and protective spirit   mine was skinny as a rail growing up, so I got him a reel mower to learn to mow with...sounds mean, but it cut well and he grew up big and strong
  11. I'm SO jealous...would love to go do that.
  12. I hope the a*hole that robbed your brother gets shot at his next attempted robbery and they recover everyone's property at his house after he dies.
  13. If you buy straight from Opinel, you can get the blade and/or handle engraved. They even do logos and artwork if you upload a jpeg file. Surprisingly affordable engraving too.
  14. We got a chance to shoot at 12" X 18" silhouette targets at 100 yds at a class I took once. It took me 6 shots to hit it. I'm a better shot than that now, but my money is on you. I don't think 1 in 100 average gun owners can do it in 2 shots.
  15. I don't have a problem with the media referring to them as gangs. That's what they acted like.     It's up to the public to realize that all MC clubs aren't gangs, just like we realize all rednecks don't have a noose in the bed of their truck, all gay people don't have AIDS, all Hispanics aren't here illegally, all Muslims aren't terrorists, and all Democrats aren't commie-douchebag-hippie-A*holes.
  16. That is very a very nice piece. I'd be quite interested in a lighter weight version of that.
  17. This video has been used against concealed carry a lot. Try pointing out the inexperience of the kids chosen, awkward holsters, ridiculously impractical cover garments, and bad guys that know where they'll be seated and sadly, the left still believes it's an accurate simulation.
  18. This is definitely not "the list", in fact it says "based on Alien Gear Holster sales. Too many things wrong with basing popularity on one mfg's holster sales, but the style of carry alone skews the numbers. Nonetheless, they probably sell a lot of holsters, so you can at least say this would be a fair representation of handgun sales for owners who prefer hybrid IWB holsters under $30.
  19. I do all the cooking at my house and I'm with you 100% about sharp kitchen knives. My wife and my daughter don't have the best knife skills in the world, so when they do use my kitchen knives I want them to be sharp. It will actually lessen the likelihood of them getting cut. I have a Chef's Choice sharpener under my cabinet collecting dust. It did an acceptable jog at sharpening my longer kitchen knives, but not so good for pairing and utility knives. I quit using it when I got a Spyderco Sharpmaker.
  20.   truer words have not been spoken about this man   Got to see him many moons ago back when Starwood Amphitheater was a thing...greatest concert I've ever seen. Crossed that one off my bucket list.   Loved his music so much I named my dog Lucille after his guitar.   We may feel this loss today, but his legacy will never end.
  21. The closest place I know of is in Woodbury. They have a "pit" where you can shoot pellets/shot as much as you want.   Here's a link to their FB page, if you can hold your nose long enough to use FB... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ok-Corral-Shooting-Range/176107609185970
  22. Sorry, if this is dumb question, but...     Don't those rails have to go in place before you set the posts?   If so, I hope your posts aren't cemented into the ground...otherwise how are you going to get a new rail in place?
  23. From what I've read, what they did that actually broke policy is using the computers for personal business.Almost everyone who uses a computer at work does that. While technically wrong, it's not worth losing what may otherwise be a good employee over. I may be wrong, but it seems to me most people are butt-hurt that they used their connections to get ammo when others couldn't and made some money off it. I hate the ammo gougers as much as anyone, but I don't think any of them, including these county employees, deserve to lose their jobs over selling ammo at a profit, let alone being prosecuted. Sounds like jealousy and sour grapes to me.
  24. I pocket carry a .45 XD-s 3.3 every day in a slim kydex holster. Sure it's heavier/bulkier than my P32, but I don't mind it. If I didn't wear loose fitting pants, I couldn't pull it off. I've also pocket carried a Ruger SP101 for a while. It wasn't so bad either.
