  1. I bought one a few years ago, have had no issues with it. Gave $300 +-, back then. Good shooting little gun. Did change the front sight to corrrect a point of aim issue I had. For $199, I'd be on it like a cheap suit.
  2.  For the rifle, a shooting stick might work in some cases. Pistol, maybe just scale back like you said.  Sorry to hear about your problems. Hope it gets better, at least to where you can enjoy what you like to do.
  3. Could it be that someone at the Dept. made a mistake?    Nahh!  No way.
  4.    Same here. Seldom find a need for full auto in combat. Great in the movies tho.
  5. No, no letter, mine went pretty much according to par. Could they have made a change in the form?    Doesn't make much sense, just trying to find a straw to grab hold of.
  6.   Totally agree! I never got the hang of that FMJ humane thing myself. You're shooting to kill the guy, he's not going to file a complaint.
  7. Never heard of breaking in a die. As Greg posted, clean the gunk out inside & out, you're good to go. Periodically cleaning doesn't hurt either.
  8. Finally remembered the supposed reason for the clean brass issue. Supposedly, the dirt(?), works as a lube for the die, where the super clean brass tends to gall a bit. Can't remember where I read that, but wasn't the long ago. Wonderful thing, that memory.........when it works.
  9.    I do the same. I reload Hornady XTP in my 9 & 40. Not really a big difference in price, plus, I've got a good carry load if need be.
  10. I've read about it, but have had no issues. I use SS tumbling & Lee carbide dies, on 9mm & 40 S&W. No problems. Also loaded .308 Win. w/Lee dies, no issues.    Edited to add: .308 was neck sizing w/ graphite lube.
  11.  Nothing, as usual.
  12.  LMAO, that's a good 'un.
  13. I can remember the "real" doctors. Where they went, I have no idea, but I can assure you, none of them are hiding out at the VA.
  14. Here's what I'm loading in my Walther PPQ 40. Hornady 155gr XTP, CCI 500 primer,  Hogdon HS-6  7.4 grs. That's on the low side of Hornadys chart. Just a bit more than it takes to cycle the gun reliabily. Different gun may be different result. Start low & work up.
  15. Would be nice, but......not likely to happen, especially for civilians or retired military. I see NO logical excuse for not allowing combat trained troops to carry a weapon. Best qualified on base. JMHO
  16.    Compelling roles in film doesn't change her character one bit. A traitor is still a traitor. The photo of her sitting astradle an antiarcraft gun in No. Vietnam, smiling, says it all.
  17. I'm no legal guru, but I can't see this holding up in court. JMHO
  18. Agreed, the facilities weren't top notch, or even close, but having said all that, compared to Goodmans' @ Nash. Fairgrnds., it was the best show around, even when in Hendersonville. No $5 parking. Even with all the flea mkt. items & home improvement stuff, there was a still a good amount of gun related items. And, yes, I b'thed" about it as nuch as anyone else, but what we have had the past several months, is 0. We'll see how it goes this time around. Right now, for me, I can barely walk, so wouldn't make it anyway.
  19. Great news for a change. Also was surprised he actually signed it rather than let it sit here. Thank you Gov. Haslam.

    ...

This show has been a bust forever, as anyone who has been know. Funny this was, their ad in the paper  said, gun supersale, wholesale ammo. So, after an ad that was a total lie, what else could you expect from the show itself?
  21. Just another black eye for the VA & Obama, who appointed him to fix another mess. You're either in Special Forces or you're not. He isn't! That's a lie in most dictionaries.
  22. Believe it or not, I used to use neatsfoot oil for reloading lube, back in the day. It worked.
