  1.    Same here on the TruSpec pants. Plenty of pocket room. Very comfortable as well. As for a holster, I got a nylon holster  for $10 @ WallyWorld. Works just fine for me. Wasn't looking for fancy, just keep lint, etc. out of the gun.  Welcome to TGO & Tenn. Good luck with your choice.
  2. Gub shows are a good place to sell guns. So are the classifieds on TGO. I'd try TGO first & go from there.   You will need to read &  meet the requirements fo the classifieds first tho. Easy!
  3. I bought a Crossbreed for my PT709. Just didn't work for me. Not the holsters fault, just my body. I carry the PT709 ( single stack ), in a nylon holster in my front pocket ( Tru Spec Pants ) , lots of room there. When I OWB carry, I use an IMI ( Israel made ) with my Walther PPQ 40 S&W. My preference is double stack when it works with what I'm wearing, etc.
  4. Ok, maybe this will help. Recently bought a Remington Mod. 783, in .308. Shoots like a dream, but would not strip cartdriges off the magazine. Called Rem., advised them I thought the problem was with the mag. itself. They sent me another one, free. Same problem. Called again, they decided to sent it to a service center in Paduca, Ky. Not far from you, BTW. Had it back in a week, mag had to be adjusted. Works fine now. Point to all this is to say I had a good experience with Cust. Serv. Very polite, helpful, quick, no BS. They prepaid shipping, BTW, via UPS.  Good luck with your issue.
  5. Strange thing, that Goodman show. In spite of the $8 admission + $5 parking, inflated prices, poor selection, flea mkt. items galore, etc., it still seems to have a decent crowd. Naive or desperation is live & well, I suppose. To each his/her own. Not mine.
  6. Great advice John. I do pretty much the same things. Nothing wrong with Lee stuff. I use the dies, and hand press for primers. Use check weights for the beam scale, and keep it covered when not in use ( dust, lint, etc ). Made a cover form aluminum foil. Focus on what you're doing, easy to screw up if not. Enjoy.........
  7. Decent show. Bought a couple of chamber brushes for the .308, drink & chips, back home.
  8. Planning on being there Sat. around mid-day. Short stay, got another thing to do later.
  9. Does anyone have the names of the committee members. They need the Debra Maggart treatment.
  10.  Good job, David & Mac, thanks. Glad I made the cut also.
  11. Saw a clip of the big brass in DC making a statement after the first Hood shooting, when asked if the policy would be changed. He said, not necessary, the MPs could handle it. And they did.....came in & cleaned up the mess. Again!
  12.  Not allowing a trained soldier to carry a weapon on base has to be one of the dumbest ideas & could only have originated from the brilliant minds in DC........which it did.  On a personal note, when I was in 'Nam, being a lowly grunt, I was issues a NIB M16 + a NIB M203. Get back to the world, I have to do paperwork, background checks, pay excessive fees, all to do the same thing.  Apparently, you're only trusted to carry when out of the country.  Their policy has worked out really well at Ft. Hood though, don't you think.
  13.    Quite simple, the name says it all, "GUN" show. The rest is for flea mkts.  JMHO
  14. I've had a Taurus 24/7 & still have a PT709. No issues with either. The 709 fits nicely in a Walmart pocket holster, in my front pocket / TruSpec pants.
  15. Defense didn't play well at all. Should have played the last 2 mins. the whole game. Oh well.........

    30-06 or 308?

Unless you're going for the heavier bullets, not much difference between the two. I sold a 30-06 & bought a .308. Happy with the switch. For factory ammo, Hornady American Whitetail 150 gr. shoots very well in my .308. Shot better than the Rem. ammo did. FWIW The .308 is a Rem. Mod. 783.
  17.  Ask Randy Weaver ( Ruby Ridge ), he can tell you all about the ATF's practices.
  18. A full scholarship is worth several thousand bucks in tuition, etc. Not like they're not getting paid in some form. Flip side, colleges/universities, are making a mint off athletics. I can hear the lid coming off a can of worms.
  19. 'bout time the Feds got the lead out!
  20. March is March. Lived here my entire life, except a brief vacation with the Army. Always been this way.  Bad breath is better than no breath at all. Weather is about the same way.
  21.   To answer the OP question, I live in that area, and it's rural. If you can find a niche that isn't covered in Gallatin / Lebanon,  and advertise heavily, it might work. There is a wealth of HCP classes around. No idea on zoning, but would be the  first place I'd visit.    Do some homework & see what it looks like from there.  Good luck..........
  22.    I don't know Greg, only been in there once, quite a while ago, didn't find much then. No much traffic for sure.  Always thought it was too much out in the middle of space to do much business.
