Proper way to dispose of live primers?
Grunt67 replied to MrBrian's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I've de-capped them with a universal de-cap die, never had an issue. I put mine in a sandwich bag add some water & let 'em soak. Don't trust them after that pin hits the anvil. Caster said he's done it so it's likely ok. He's been around the reload block a day or two, LOL. I'm just not a trusting soul. -
That's cool, PJ. If it works, that's all you need to do.

When I was a youngster, I used my middle finger ( right hand ), all the time. Worked great or that. Just a matter of adjusting. This was with my Red Ryder BB. Not sure why or when I changed over.

Don't get much more excited than I am right now!
Grunt67 replied to rugerla1's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
If it doesn't have a cal. weight(s), buy a set. They're not expensive, but come in handy. I always check my scale bofore starting to reload. Call it peace of mind. Welcome to the club, rugerla1, and best of luck. There is a wealth of info on TGO. All are helpful, friendly, and on occasion, knowledgeable. LOL -
May be a bit early, but just i case, RK will be back in the 'boro 8/29 & 30, according to their website. ( I give no personal guarantee here, they've been known to change their plan ). Also, it says they are back in the original 'air conditioned building'. Hope I'm able to attend this time. Health didn't permit for last show., or much of anything else, LOL.

The US would probably just invade. They've already gotten by with it once @ Ruby Ridge.

A mountain top in Idaho with a good field of fire.

If it works, it works. That's all that's needed. -
Discussion Of Possible Gun Legislation, Parks Again
Grunt67 replied to runco's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Dolomite, you hit the nail right on the head. THis is not so much about gun control, tho it's part of it, it's control in general. Bloomberg is a leader in gun control as everyone knows, but he's a control freak. From guns to the size of soda you can buy. The gun hating Libs don't have enough between the ears to realize, by banning guns, wherever, they are only banning legal guns. The gang bangers, etc., do as they damn well please. I read somewhere that a Liberal is someone that believes you can pick up a turd by the clean end. So.............. -
Had that to happen this week, myself, mailed from Vermont. Also, had Greg's experience before. All we can do is order & hope.

Ain't it the truth! LOL

VA Tries to Confiscate Disabled Vet’s Guns
Grunt67 replied to Omega's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times, the ONLY way to fix / prevent all of VA's issues, medical or otherwise, is just to shut the damn thing down, give vets a card to go where they choose, and not have to deal with these fine folks. Personally, I am in process of getting Part D to go along with A & B, plus Tricare. Then I plan to tell the VA to kiss my _ _ _ . The first two lines of this post are not likely to happen. National disgrace. -
LOL, could be on to something.

Making a screw-up while doing something mechanical, electrical, etc. requires a certain amount of swear words / phrases. To do otherwise is un-American. :)

Plus there's some part of NO they still don't understand.
-
The VA in the 'Boro has a posted sign just inside the entrance. In addition to the NO Gun Sign, also on the same sign are about a half dozen other no-no's as well. Difficult to read all unless you stop in the middle of the road. But, it's there. Which means I have to leave my gun at home ( 35 mi. ) away, and travel to & from, unprotected. I'm sure this worries the good folks at VA to no end. NOT!
-
That was my first thought as well. They've been doing it for quite a while too.

You shouldn't have to hire an atty. for that info. The clerk should be able.......and willing to help you with that.. Maybe go back & ask to speak to someone else. If she is a deputy clerk, ask for the Clerk. Good luck, regardless.

Woman shoots possible serial killer in self defense
Grunt67 replied to JAB's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Outstanding!! Regardless what she does for a living, she still has a right to self defense, just like us. -
Dead dragons drawing 'em maybe?

Good intentions are great, but this seems to me, a wreck looking for a place to happen. Too many things that can go sour. I wonder what actual training these folks have had. Biggest issue I see is simply standing guard "outside". As someone else posted, you're a sitting duck for a drive by/pull up & cut loose. It's a feel good experience that can change in a heartbeat. Waaay past time for the DOD to get their heads out of their intestines & arm & train the guys/gals iin uniform. Never understand why out of country, they will hand you every weapon you can carry. Set foot on home soil, they don't trust you with airsoft. Ridiculous. JMHO

Tennessee Firearms Association. What's your take?
Grunt67 replied to Randall53's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
IMHO, the TFA / John Harris, is the best & mostly the only voice we have in the legislature. Procedures, language or not, they're stll way ahead of second place. -
Little exposure to a 1911 during basic at Ft. Campbell. Never saw one after that. Issued a M16 w/ M203 underneath in 'Nam. Don't recall seeing anyone carrying a pistol.

When I get a call with a # I don't recognize, I flip it to Ignore, & forget it. If it is important they will leave a voice mail. 99.9% dont leave one. Works for me.
