Ransom Eli Olds founder of Oldsmobile started REO after he had a conflict with Oldsmobile that he had sold and was working for. He started with cars and branched out to trucks. Through many mergers and such it lasted till 1975 when it was mostly liquidated. Volvo owns the rights to the name.

7 tons would be 14,000 lbs. Specs on the van show it at a curb weight of 5,356 lbs. so that would be 2.62 vans.

Well, I pulled that as a class 4 vehicle. Seems like there are discrepencies or wrong links on Wikipedia. My bad, just say 3 of them and call it good.
