M&P9 Fans?

Recommended Posts

I only have a Shield in 9, but I have in 40 an M&P compact, M&P full size, and 5" M&P Pro. I love them all. The full size was my first, then the Shield, then the Pro, then the compact.

I shoot the Pro most often and use it for my attempts at IDPA and 3 Gun. However, I am most impressed by the Shield; it never ceases to amaze me how such a small gun can shoot so well, and it has the best trigger of the bunch. I wish Smith would just put that trigger in the rest of the M&P line!

I am a fan, for sure. Excellent value, ergonomics, and style, IMHO. Someday I will APEX out most of my M&P family.

Getcha one! Or four!

I have .a .45 FS and .45 Compact; a 9mm Pro, FS, and Compact; a .22; and a Shield 9.  I'm a committed admirer of the M&P. No other semiauto fits my hand as well.   Don't even own any Glocks any more.  I was thinking about putting some Apex parts in mine but you'd be surprised at how smooth the triggers get after about 3,000 rounds.

Cheers,

Whisper

^What he said. After holding the M&P9 for the first time, I knew it was going to be mine. I read enough threads around the interwebs to know the trigger was the only issue. Ordered the APEX kit before I even picked up the gun.

the trigger didn't feel that bad on the one I'm working on.  Assuming its stock.  Well comparing it to a stock Glock trigger.  I'll have to look into the APEX kit.

I am glad you gave it back! I love the cerakote job it's pretty amazing. The trigger is stock but i think I am going to put the apex in after doing a little research on it. Jonathan did a great job on the coating and an amazing turn around time. Now I hopefully get to give him my AK to cerakote in the near future. Thank you again.

I love my M&P VTAC. It's a sweet shooter for sure. I shot my first one when S&W did an event at a local shop/range. The rep let me shoot a VTAC with 5-6 rounds in it and I new I'd have one before to long. Bought mine off a great TGOer who was moving back to Glocks for whatever reason.

I have shot a full-size 40 and 45 M&P; I could not warm p to the trigger. For some weird reason the Shield's trigger is so much better than a regular m&p. It really sucks because I am a huge S&W fan. I do carry a Shield daily.

I do agree that the standard trigger on the M&P fullsize is a bit different than that of the Shield, but I don't find it to bother me. Of course I do tend to shoot the Vtac version more than the regular M&P9.

So I'm working on a cerakote job on a M&P 9 for a TGOer tonight.  I've pretty much only had Glocks and H&Ks.  But after holding the M&P9, I think I NEED one now….  How do you guys like yours?  Any complaints?

Whatever you do.........never ever ever shoot or handle a M&P pro with APEX Comp trigger......your doomed if ya do!
