  6. I had seven Staccato's, P 4.14 Full, P DPO, two C2 DPO's, two C Single Stack's, and a CS DPO. They are all great guns and handled great. I sold all but two of them, I kept one C that I had Monsoon Tactical do their Genghis Comp on it, had the Bbl coated in DLC I then installed a Wilson Combat Bullet Proof Single Side Thumb Saftey and a flat faced trigger. The CS I have I did the exact same mods except for the Comp. I rotate carrying them they shoot great never had a problem with any of them. I'm going to get the new C Double Stack soon, overall they are great for the price point. Now a NightHawk, Gun Crafters, Staccato's XC and few other higher end 2011's are on another level as far as quality and more attention that goes into building them. Overall I'd rather carry a 2011, and that's coming from someone who is a die hard 1911 fan, I had fifteen of those once from a Springfield Armory basic GI model to a couple of Wilson Combat CQBE's a few NightHawk's five Les Baer's and Gun Crafter.

  8. Bump for last price reduction, after will take down and will repost at a future date.
  9. I shoot a beretta a400 for ducks. Before that a beretta 390. Very happy with the beretta with the exception of the a300. My buddy has one and we can’t get it to feed consistently. I have several friends that run Benelli SBEs and they all seem to do fine. Might also look at Retay. I’ve handled a few of them and they seem well built for the price point.
  10. I'm interested. I can come by today or tomorrow for pickup.

  19. This one hurts to post, but if I'm honest with myself, I've sat & stared at it for 2 years now. It's just too damn pretty for me to hunt with & I know I'm going to spend more time worrying about it getting scratched than I actually would hunting. I built this up from parts. The action is a Sears model 52, which is the Sears specific brand Winchester Model 70. I had the entire action blueprinted & rebarreled to 6.5x55 Swede by E.R. Shaw. The barrel is 21", 5R rifled with a 1:8 twist. The profile was turned to match the factory M70 barrel which is basically a medium/light Sporter. The barreled action was then mirror polished & sent to a specialist refinisher in Wyoming for bluing. Along with that, the hinged bottom metal, bolt shroud, trigger, grip cap, scope mounts, sling swivels & all screws & fasteners were sent for color case hardening. While all the metal was away for finishing, I found an unfinished, Exhibition grade walnut stock & set about hand fitting & finishing. I hand sanded everything to 800 grit & applied 24 coats of Alkanet oil, wet sanding the first 12. Once the color I wanted was achieved I applied 32 very fine coats of polymerized Tung oil (over a period of about 4 months) The stock was then sent to Ahlmans for hand cut checkering in a 22tpi Winchester point pattern. Once finished, the checkering was then very lightly oiled. Once it was all back here & together, I added a Leupold FX-3 6x42 scope. I've taken it to range 1 time to zero & work out a load & that's literally it. I don't think I've fired 40 shots since I finished it. The whole project was a labor of love, because I wanted an Heirloom Quality gun, only to find out that I'm far better served with working guns. I don't know how many hours went into the build, but I'm pretty sure I clocked over 100 just in the stock. Since then, it's literally sat in the cabinet slathered in anti-rust. I've occasionally taken it out to look at & fondle. It's a crying shame to just have it sitting & it needs to go to someone who'll actually use & appreciate it for what it is, rather than just being a decoration. I'm not gonna lie, I'm pricing this at slightly less than I have in it, but not much & the price is NOT negotiable. I paid nearly half the cost just for the stock alone. $2000 will buy it & if it doesn't sell for that, it can stay in the cabinet. I'm only selling her now to fund a used Harley purchase (unless someone wants to part trade me for a ratty big twin.....) Link to photo album....... https://imgur.com/gallery/LrNFN1l
  20. So I just ran 3 cylinders of Buffalo Bore .357 through it and, I am in love! the weight calms the recoil enough to make it managable, much more than I thought it would. I will zero my sights later but was able to put all 18 bullets on the steel plate at 10 yards, so I am happy. I will put a bunch of .38 special Gold Dots through her to zero it in. I absolutely love the Wilson sights and I think the Gold front sight is the best I can have on this revolver The only negative comment I can make about this when it came from colt, the rear sight, the Wilson is leaps and bounds better and an upgrade for Pythons and Anacondas that I highly reccomend. I intend to leave the Orange front sight on my upcoming 4.5 Anaconda but already have the adjustable rear waiting for it.
  21. Not a fan of the "modern" style exactly. I prefer the Para Ordnance look. But I do like many of the old look 2011s. the double stack 45 is definitely a great piece. Not saying the race gun style is bad, some are really good looking. I just prefer the original 1911 look.
