It is more than sad. This story stinks to high heaven. The victim after having a car crash banged on the door of a house nearby. A woman answered the door, and then called the police because she thought the victim was a burglar. Hmmm, never knew burglars knocked on doors, but okay. After the police arrive the victim charges after three police officers? BS. Like I said, this story stinks.4 points

When I started "hoarding" it was long before the shelves went bare, I am talking about years before any of us had even heard of Obama. I will not be made to feel guilty because I planned ahead and someone else didn't. I shoot regularly and often shoot a lot more than most because I did plan ahead. I don't shoot 22 as much as before but I shoot all my centerfires 10x as much as before. I have zero guilt when I go to the range and mag dump 400 rounds of ammo that most can't replace. And I do it because I have plenty and that is because I planned ahead. What is wrong with buying from Walmart? That is where I get most of my ammo because their ammo is cheaper than anywhere else and because it can still be found on the shelves. I walked into Walmart yesterday and found more 223 than I could ever want if I didn't reload and it was a lot cheaper than the prices of resellers so why not buy from Walmart. I have enough to likely last me at least a decade at my current rate of shooting because I did think ahead and just because someone has less ammo doesn't make me the bad person. Sounds a lot like the story about the grasshopper and ants.4 points

Found this on Saiga 12 forum Abu al-Zarqawi died, George Washington met him at the Pearly Gates. He slapped him across the face and yelled, "How dare you try to destroy the nation I helped conceive!" Patrick Henry approached, punched him in the nose and shouted, "You wanted to end our liberties but you failed!" James Madison followed, kicked him in the groin and said, "This is why I allowed our government to provide for the common defense!" Thomas Jefferson was next, beat al-Zarqawi with a long cane and snarled "It was Evil men like you who inspired me to write the Declaration of Independence." The beatings and thrashings continued as George Mason, James Monroe and 66 other early Americans unleashed their anger on the terrorist Leader. As al-Zarqawi lay bleeding and in pain, an Angel appeared. Al-Zarqawi wept and said, "This is not what you promised me." The Angel replied, "I told you there would be 72 Virginians waiting for you in Heaven. What did you think I said?"3 points

I watched all the first video and part of the second, what it boils down to is LEOs being asked to enforce a stores policy or request again. If the business wanted them to leave they should have just told them to leave, if for whatever reason the business representative did not want to "confront" them and chose to call the police, the officers could have simply told the patrons to leave. There was no reason to detain them or check IDs unless they were suspected of some crime, which I did not hear or see mentioned.3 points

I could be way off base here (not really), but it seems to me that if you are going to enforce the laws then perhaps you should know what the law is in the first place. To make an arrest after you have been shown to be wrong isn't protecting and serving; it is just being a d***.2 points

Being in an accident like that can make you very unstable balance wise. This could have been the situation here and the victim could have stumbled in the officers direction which was mistaken for a "lunge". Sure is a sad story, whatever happened.2 points

some of the comments here are near unbelievable. There is absolutely no reason police could not have waited the old guy out. If budget came into consideration then they need a better manager/chief. There has not been a valid reason presented for the police doing what they did. The old man was not a threat locked up in his bedroom. Very likely demented and not knowing what was going on. Class act by the police here. I remember a time when police protected people. Getting the old guy out alive should have been the priority not getting SWAT into his room at all cost. I just don't get it. There was no reason he could not have been waited out.2 points

Just because you OC doesn't mean you are looking for a confrontation or showing off. For the ZILLIONTH time your HCP info is NOT connected to your license plate. When your license plate is checked the only information returned is the Name and Address of the registered owner (a check if it is stolen can be run with it also or separately). Now, Yes, you can take the name and address information and run it to get the DL/HCP information of the Registered Owner who may or may not be the current driver of the vehicle. What makes you think they didn't know the law in MO? You can OC without a permit in MO.2 points

while I too mostly carry concealed, I disagree thay open carry is asking for trouble. They weren't doing anything wrong or illegal. I think a more appropriate statement is the cop was looking for trouble. Ok , I had a buddy come by that is a swat officer here in gallatin. He has read every one of the posts plus read the articles posted with links. He said they had somewhat of a similar issue about a year ago when an 82 year old man barricaded himself in his home because his family wanted to move him from his home of 55 years into a nursing home. Not because he could not care for himself and he had 24 /7 paid sitters paid buy his insurance to come in and do for him. One day when the family arrived to move him from his home to the nursing home he showed them his gun and told him he was not going. They called the police and told them he threatened them with a gun. My buddies Swat team was called out along with a negotiator. The swat team got eyes in the house and saw the old man was armed with a 38 pistol and said he was not leaving his home. He actually fired off two rounds into the floor to get their attention that he would shoot. In the end the swat team got him to fire off his last 4 rounds by making noises under the floor which after that they made a quick entry into the house and room and took control of the issue with out killing the old gentleman. They brought him out with out even putting him in cuff's and took him to the police station. After an investigation it was exposed that the only reason the family wanted him placed in a nursing home was a large offer had been made on the old man's home and property and he turned it down and his two sons were do to get the house when he vacated it. The man was evaluated by a doctor and the doctor said that the old gentleman was not crazy and his health was good for his age and with the aid of the sitters he should have been able to remain in his home indefinitely or until his health worsened. Now after it was all said and done, because the old gentleman actually never pointed the gun at anyone including his two sons but just showed it to them and he never fired directly at any of the police officers or swat team the judge made a decision to dismiss all of the charges that had been made and sent the old man back home without his gun and he is still living in his home with his 24/7 sitters. Now with that said I realize that all cases are different but my buddy said that not being there it was hard for him to make a totally accurate decision but he said that someone in the upper level must have had plans and didn't have time to do his job and keep his plans and gave orders that should not have been given and he left it there..............  :popcorn:2 points

Ya know, I'm not one for starting sh** with cops, but screw these guys. Legally carrying girls being interrogated for what? I guess if it wasn't for the idiot cop standing in the background WITH HIS LONG GUN AT THE READY, and the surly attitude of the cop I wouldn't really care about the cop checking on these ladies at the request of the management, but there is no rule against an officer being personable and polite. He handled that like these ladies were up to no good. He could have achieved the same results and answers by being a nice guy and making the exchange pleasant for all parties. I would have told this guy to cuff me or piss off.2 points

Well, this will stop all those gangs who get lowers and build their own ARs for drive bys and stuff. I can totally see how this law would target criminals and not law abiding gun owners.2 points

Age has nothing to do with it because a firearm was being used and the firearm is an equalizer. Being 107 doesn't make the gun any less lethal. I would be condemning the officers if the 107 year old man was trying to fight them using only his body strength but he was not, he was using a firearm that could have killed any of the officers that had a legal right to be there. Any firearm is capable of serious bodily injury or death regardless of the age of the shooter. And in this situation SWAT was warranted because you have a criminal who had previously stated that officers would have to kill him. Then the criminal shot at the initial officer (not SWAT officers) who attemped to make contact. SWAT was called out AFTER the criminal shot at the officer (not SWAT) who tried to make first contact. When the criminal shot at the officer then it required SWAT to be called for everyone's safety. And SWAT is what should have been used because they are the best trained for situations like this. They are not trained to run in with guns a blazing. They generally have a lot more training on "no shoot" situations than most road officers. In the end the officers had a legal right to be there. The homeowner did not have a legal right to shoot at them. And because of this the officers had every right, legally and morally, to stop the criminal's lethal assault on innocent people. And one more thing for those who may not know. The reason why you do not wait a criminal out is because it allows them to barracade themselves, boobytrap the entrances and better arm themselves. Any one of these things makes it more dangerous for the officers. As long as entering doesn't place innocent people in danger it should happen as soon as and quickly as possible.2 points

I cant believe what im readin here from some of ya.... If the police cant handle a 107 year old guy without an armed entry with a distraction blast, then shootin him; we are in deep trouble... This was poorly (...and tragically...) handled... Folks are gonna have to quit carryin the water for these SWAT "dynamic entries" and come to the realization that there are some bad people wearin badges and guns; and some buffoons commanding them... This aint a dammed video game; its real life and a poor old out of his mind man is dead because of this nonsense... At best, this is a terrible mistake... At worst it is a police commando murder... God forbid these folks come and protect you, me or anybody else... This is another Branch Dividian thing, abeit on a smaller scale. It's capricious (...and most likely criminal...) use of deadly force to and military tactics to take out a crippled up, childish old man... If the police cant handle poor, demented 107 year olds without killin 'em; you had better be afraid when they come to your house.... And, by the way, i aint a SWAT team member, nor do i play one in video games or on TV; and (...thank God...) ive never made a police entry... That dont mean a dammed thing here... You need to think before ya kill people...Especially the oldest and youngest among us.. This is, in fact, a tragedy and most likely a crime to boot.... Havin said that, i'm willin to bet that someone will cover for this disgraceful act.... leroy2 points

Sales tax only has to be paid once. So long as you're paying tax when you buy this stuff to turn around and sell it again, you should not collect sales tax from the person buying it from you. Sooner or later the BATFE is going to get involved in this practice and the rest of us are going to suffer as a result of it. Currently buying a firearm to flip a firearm is illegal. It's only a matter of time that they make it the same for ammo, and likely because of opportunistic weasels who are cleaning out retailers to sell it again at a mark-up. Honestly, I think what you're doing is beyond unscrupulous. People like you make it hard for others to buy ammo at realistic, fair-market prices, for the sake of protecting themselves or training regularly to be better at it. You're not buying and selling a commodity, you're buying and selling a means of self defense at a marked-up price because you happen to be able to haunt the retail locations and clean them out while other people are attending to other things. In this case I am torn between not wanting the government any more involved in Second Amendment issues than they already are, and wanting to see them clean your clock. The road to hell is certainly paved with nickels and dimes.2 points

LAMAR ALEXANDER (R-TN) -- Senator Alexander also voted to fund Obamacare earlier this year and he refuses to oppose funding for it now. What's Lamar Alexander telling voters in Tennessee? He's running a new campaign commercial that says he "led the conservative fight against Obamacare." This is the same Lamar Alexander who supported the individual mandate long before Obamacare was written. If anything, he helped pave the way for Obamacare. And if Senator Alexander truly opposed Obamacare today, he would be leading the fight to stop its funding before October 1st. These Obamacare Republicans can't defend their liberal position so they have decided to lie about it.2 points

Each picture is 10 rounds, so first is 10, second 20 and so on up to 50 (if I snapped all the pics right). Glock 21 Gen4 45 ACP. Close up of the final with 50 rounds. I didn't care on the last set of 10 and just shot them off quicker, so the spread opened up a bit. Needless to day, I passed the course with flying colors! :w00t: And don't mess with my wife. She held tighter groups with a small 45 compact carry gun. Springfield XDs 3.3 45 ACP. It was only my second 3rd time shooting the Glock and her 2nd time shooting the XDs 45 3.3. :up:1 point

I wanted to add: my son got his first knife at 5 and gun at 6. He has always been safe. I drilled proper safety methods in his head. He did great. My daughter was the same and despite her cutting herself she has always done well with safety. I wouldn't say a dealer wont have any part of it. The reason i will be a life long customer of G&L is from something similar. Bought my wife a Walther P-22, had tons of issues with it. We took it in one day to shoot and were talking about it in front of the clerk. He asked if he could let the the smith look at it real quick, they found some form of factory defect. Told me it would need to go back to the factory. Then he asked me where i got it, when i told him i got it at G&L he said they would take care of sending it back. Went in to the back talked to someone for a minute came back out and gave me a replacement on the spot. Had to pay another 10 for the TICS but it was worth it. Some shops truly know the definition of customer service and will help you even when it is something completely out of their control. No problems out of the replacement gun BTW, great little pistol.1 point

I would side with the officers on this one. However, I seriously question their tactics. One officer pulls a gun, and another pulls a taser? I wasn't there, but if the guy was eventually subdued with a taser, it seems to me like that would have been the first option, not deadly force. As far as shooting bystanders, the department should suffer the same fate as individuals do; you get your ass sued off.1 point

For the low volume reloading you are going to do the Lee trimmer will work fine. Chuck it into a cordless drill and go. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/476992/lee-case-trimmer-cutter-and-lock-stud http://www.midwayusa.com/product/107333/lee-case-length-gage-and-shellholder-223-remington I just made up a list for a fellow TGO member and the Lee trimmer was what I recommended for him. It isn't for people who are loading thousands of rounds at a time but if you are loading a few hundred it is easy and pretty quick. Chamfering is not required but it keeps the bullet from getting shaved as it is seated. Sometimes the bullet can catch the case mouth and crush the neck if you don't chamfer. Personally I chamfer but I know people who don't, they just use a scotchbrite pad to remove and flashing that is left over from the trimming process. They trim then spin the case back up and use the pad to remove any burrs. Although the case length gauge is nice, it is not required. I have never used one for my 223 or any other rifle cartridge. Make sure your shell holder and die touch each other when sizing and the piece of brass will be SAAMI spec as long as the die isn't messed up. For a first time 223 loader I always recommend Varget. The reason is you cannot get enough powder in the case to cause a problem.1 point

I live in a small cottage behind my Daughters home. It's just me and an old dog and I have several hand guns place strategically through out my home. They are not in plain view but still easily accessible in any room. All of them have hot tubes. I don't want to have to load a tube to defend myself. An empty tube in a split second incident is an unloaded gun. The gun I sleep next to is actually in a holster that is attached to the bed and within arms reach which eliminates opening a drawer of a night stand to get my gun. My old dog will give me any warning of someone out side as her hearing is great and will give me plenty of warning should someone want to try and enter my home. My carry weapons also have hot tubes and I don't go to my mail box without a sidearm>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>JMHO1 point

The group from the cells minus the drunk made their way to the front office area of the station and began to make phone calls like mad but only got an emergency broadcast dialogue stating that lines would be back up shortly. Brigsby and Wade then began making radio calls to anyone on the frequencies that the department used; only a small handful of officers responded some which reported the same things that Brigsby and Jack had seen when they were out there. Anyone they contacted they told to try to make back to the station, one conversation of which ended with the officer on the other end screaming for his life begging them to come help him, followed by pure silence. Brigsby was about to walk out when Jack stopped him, "MIKE, stop! There's nothing you can do for them except say a prayer for them and move on. You don't even know where he was at, remember?" Mike Brigsby then had a look of rage wash over him, "You think I can sit here on my ASS and wait, doing NOTHING?! To hell with that!!! I might not be able to help him but I can, I can do... something." Jack saw that Mike was looking at something, he looked to the same direction that Brigsby was looking and then saw what appeared to be a mob outside, moving slowly towards the station. Shirley asked, "Who are all those people?" Jack's mouth dropped open and Mike said in a hushed voice, "Sweet Jesus..."1 point

"You guys are making this up..." the drunkard from within the cell said, "This is some sort of prank right??" Brigsby shook his head, then said "I'd like to think so but the nightmare we experienced out there was an all too real rude awakening." while pointing to the bloodstains on his uniform and on Jacks clothes. Jack looked right at the man wearing the restrictive mask, "These things, whatever they are don't feel pain and won't go down unless you shoot them in the head." Wade smirked cockily, "Now that's the biggest load of BS I've ever heard..." Jack sighed, then looking to the masked man, "Hey, mister can you hear me? Are you okay?" The lone man just kept pushing futily into the cells bars, his feet squeaking against the tiled floor, making the sound reminiscent of a basketball game yet there was no response, just the groans and sighs of monster trying to reach its food desperately. Jack looked at Brigsby, "Make sure they don't do anything dumber than what I'm about to do. You may wanna plug your ears..." Jack quickly drew his weapon in the same fashion he'd done during a few IDPA matches he'd attended letting lose two rounds into the chest of the masked inmate. Occuring all at the same time; Shirley screamed at the top of her lungs, the drunkard yelled, "HOLY @#$%, DID THAT REALLY JUST HAPPEN???!!!", and Wades police instincts kicked in, "Lay the weapon on the ground, NOW!!!" while pointing his sidearm at Jack. Brigsby threw his hand up towards Wade, "Calm down Wade, now look." He pointed to the man who was now limp on the ground, the body twitched and writhing on the ground then began to get back up, Jack pointed to the body, "LOOK! Don't you see anything weird?!" Wade looked at the body and a realization came over his face, "The guy, he's not bleeding?" Shirley looked at the bullet holes and realized what Wade just said was true, "Oh my god..." She began making a Holy Sign often seen in Catholicism though she wasn't Catholic. The drunk then said, "Well DAMN, you don't see that everyday."1 point

The younger woman had a lighter complexion and was almost doll like with her looks. Jack was taken aback by her looks. He began to blush slightly by looking at her. Mike reached forward and grabbed her by the shoulders and asked, "Shirley is everything alright? Are you okay??" She looked slightly confused, "Yeah, we're just fine. We had an inmate get a little rough and he was trying to bite one of the others but we got a muzzle on him. Wade tased the guy but it didn't really faze him, he just kept on biting. He used some sort of martial arts take down on him and held him there until I could find the ol muzzle from equipment storage; the thing is old though, probably from the late fifties." The combined look of horror and surprise overcame both Mike and Jacks faces, "Is he still in there?" The girl looking even more confused looked at them, "Um, yeah. Wade put him into his own cell. Even after he was masked, he kept going for the other cellmate. It was really weird." It was at this point that Jack began to hear the screams from back in the jail cells, "Keep that thing away from me!!! Damn dude tried to eat me!" Shirley then happened to notice Jack standing there, "Um, hi, who are you?" Mike intervened, "That's Jack hon and we've got one hell'uva story for you and Wade but before that we need to get a look at that feller in the cell."1 point

Jack was wincing, he didn't feel any pain. He looked up to see Brigsby moving towards him cautiously but not looking at him, Jack looked behind him and there was a woman laying on her back about five feet away, twitching. "She was reaching for you with her arms out, she had the same look that one had." Pointing with his shoulder to the biting body laying on the ground. A horrified look crept over the officers face "I just shot a person without verbal warning, my god, I'm going to go to prison!" Jack realized that if he didn't say something, the poor man might try to do something drastic, "look, you percieved her just as much as a threat as I did that one over there, you were trying to protect me and I appreciate that but we've got bigger problems now, cause she ain't dead!" Brigsby looked at him with a wrinkled face, "There's no fregin way, I just put six rounds in her abdomen, she should, be..." Brigsby began to trail off looking at the body because it had just now sat up, looking at him, then towards Jack. She then began to crawl to what was percieved as the easier of two targets, Jack started scooting back as fast as possible, "Shoot her in the head man, shoot!!!" Brigsby fired a round into her leg, this made no difference to her. "The head man, you've got to shoot the HEAD!" Brigsby frowned, "God help me!!!" He then pulled the trigger discharging a round into the side of her skull splattering brain matter all over the side of his cruiser. Jack looked at him, "Thank you, I don't know what I would've done without you." Brigsby stood there in total disbelief, "I just executed a person..." Jack infuriated now, "Damn it man, wake up! We need to get out of here NOW! That woman showed up because of the gunshots! We need to get out of here before more show up!" Brigsby stood there thinkning on it for a moment, then said "No, I need to stay here in case anyone else shows." Jack was desperate to convince him to get out of there, "Sir, with all due respect, @#$& that, we need to beat feet somewhere safer than the middle of the street, that one there ain't going anywhere, he broke his neck in the crash and it's limited his movement to just the head." Brigsby rebuttled with, "We can't just leave him here, someone else might end up like that paramedic" Jack tired of arguing, "Look, I'll take care of him, lets just get the hell out of here but first you need to uncuff me!" Brigsby thought on it for a moment and then said, "Alright, we'll head to the station and try to figure out just what in the Sam Hill is going on. Is your truck still road worthy?" Brigsby leaned down and began to unlock his cuffs after they were off, Jack rubbed his wrists then looked at his truck, "I dunno but we'll find out real quick." Jack jumped up onto his feet, repocketing his belongings, then made his way over to his truck, he retrieved the pistol thumbing the safety on, he stowed it into the small of his back. He walked over to the truck and after unlocking the truck tool box, he drew out a case, a plate carrier with full mag pouches and a back pack. Opening the medium sized case revealed an AR-15 split from the upper and lower. Jack snapped them together then inserted a fresh thirty round magazine coupled to another magazine, though not charging it in the presence of the officer. He then threw the plate carrier on and set the rifle barrel down propped up against the center console. Jack then opened the pack up to withdraw a drop leg holster to stow the FNX with then proceeded to toss the pack into the passenger seat of his truck. Brigsby walked over and let out a low tone whistle in surprise, "You ready for world war three?" Jack smiled and said, "Nope, but I'm ready for just about anything else." End of Chapter 11 point
