I wish we lived in a time where businesses weren't pressured to take a stand on an issue, then judged on which side of the issue they chose to stand on. I wish they could just sell stuff and people could be happy with that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk7 points

Ever since my first Savannah St Patty's day, I've been under the impression that the purpose was to celebrate being drunk, motor boating the boobs of total strangers, being drunk, wearing cheap green trinkets and exchanging said trinkets for the sight of bare breasts, vomiting, public urination and awkward drunken sex with college chicks. I'll be damned if the queers are gonna come in and ruin the sanctity of a holiday that has such a rich, sanctimonious history. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk4 points

I bought a case of Wolf x39 from AIM, just because they love me and send me emails saying as much. Probably could have got it a cent or two cheaper if I had looked but I like to return the love. I am near a lifetime supply of it, and of course if a shooting war broke out all I would need is two mags full. After that I imagine I will be buzzard food anyway. Just doing my part. And fwiw AK's rule!4 points

Speaking from a US airspace perspective only: There are several valid reasons why the transponders have an "off" switch. On the ground at or near busy airports, it's often done to reduce the noise and clutter which is inherent to the system. General aviation aircraft often fly with the transponders off when flying "VFR" in order to not have the hassle of dealing with the ATC system for pleasure or low level flights, this is of course not applicable to airliner operations. In addition, the system sometimes breaks down, the signals get confused on the radar screens, the altitude info is wrong or conflicting from the encoders, or maybe the transmitter just has a "crash" and needs resetting, this requires turning the power off and then back on, it's usually done at the request of the controllers but may be initiated by the pilots to clear up issues. As for "blips" showing up on radar without the transponder functioning, the whole purpose of the transponder is to help identify, locate and follow the "blips". Primary radar coverage is very spotty, targets are often hard to see and harder to follow, impossible to identify without the use of the transponder. There are many areas right here in the US where radar coverage is spotty or non-existent, some of these areas are found in Tennessee as well, especially at lower flight levels. Even with transponders working, pilots are sometimes asked to "ident", that's a switch which boosts the transponder output temporarily to help the controllers find an aircraft on their screens. Every one of these examples has occurred to me while flying recreationally in Tennessee; over the oceans in less-developed areas those types of problems are probably worse. Transponders, aviation radar, aircraft navigation and the aircraft traffic control system are poorly understood by the non-flying public, that's completely understandable. What's different in this situation is that the newscasters don't understand it either, and seem willfully obtuse in their comprehension despite numerous attempts by knowledgeable people to answer questions like "why can the transponders be turned off"? After a week, the same reporters are still asking the same questions on air, adding to the confusion of the listeners in their attempt to create controversies where none exist.2 points

The only entities that can violate the law with impunity are the operatives of the gubmt that are sworn and tasked with enforcing such laws... The fact is that the gubmt is above the law because it enforces the law; and to think otherwise is foolish... Nowadays there is no place that is safe from this scourge... Look at the CIA hacking of the Senate... The only fix is to clean out the whole bunch; bureaucrats, apparatchiks, and elected ones "en masse"; which most likely aint gonna happen... leroy the isolationist2 points

4 - 6% of the population are homosexual. They have a political impact far beyond that. (It's almost as if their political sponsors - the left - have an interest in destroying the nuclear family). If a brewery wants to offend 95% to score points with 5%, well, their choice. Not a brilliant one.2 points

It's a bit of an effort around here. I'd suggest starting with used equipment because a lot of people (like me) just find it too much effort. It's a cool thing to do though and I can see where people would become addicted to it. If we were closer to salt water, I think I would have stuck with it more.1 point

what is wrong with plain old regular been used forever axle grease? That said if I grease a gun, it is with Polaris Marine grade grease. Same as I use on the quads. Never had a problem with it on any gun. Don't over think things. and so people know, grease a gun where it slides back and forth, if it pivots or spins use oil.1 point

Feel free to come visit me. It seems things are breaking faster than I can fix them. In the past few months, washer, dishwasher, coffee pot, truck, recliner, wife's sewing machine, my sewing machine, my serger. Last year, major water leak in front yard (cracked main water line), water pump on truck, rotors on truck, after I replaced the water pump the bypass hose burst. Yes I was too freaking lazy to change it when I changed the pump. :(1 point

Really? So after over 100+ years of .22 being the most popular caliber in this country, the one that everyone starts off with, with probably more firearms chambered in that caliber than any other, you honestly think more consumers will drive down the costs? Please stop trying to interpret high school economics. Yes, greater demand in theory leads to increased production with a resulting greater supply...if manufacturers tool-up for increased production. However, prices have risen exponentially since January of 2013, not from manufacturers, who are working 24x7, but by greedy opportunistic douchebags who are in fact destroying the shooting sports for future generations.1 point

Last year when I attended the Glock Armorer class at the factory in Smyrna, My instructor had just started teaching classes after working 5 years in Glock's warranty department. He said one of the biggest reasons for Glocks being returned for warranty service was people installing metal guide rods. He said the Glock frame is designed to flex when firing and things tend to work better if the guide rod flexes with the gun. I have no dog in this fight and if you like a metal guide rod go for it, but I will stick with what Glock thinks works best.1 point

What was causing your hangups? My buds MAC-11 .380 upper is really finicky but then 1600rpm will do that. His new 9mm slowed down the rate of fire and as long as the dummy doesn't load his lead head rounds it cycles like a dream. Yes, my bud is such a cheap bastard he really likes to run reloads with cast bullets in his MAC. -_-1 point

If I might elaborate on what SWJewellTN is saying here...I think some are forgetting that these laws, "unconstitutional" in our opinion or not, have been properly passed by a legislature and put into place and law sworn law enforcement officers have both a duty and an obligation to enforce them regardless of their personal opinion. Now, if an officer really has a problem of conscious with a particular law and decides to not enforce AND is willing to face the consequences then he/she could certainly do that but to expect officers to do so wholesale is, I think, rather ridiculous. The place to address "unconstitutional" laws is in a legislature and/or the courts...not on the street with a LEO...LEOs are NOT the problem here...WE ARE THE PROBLEM because WE'VE let legislatures pass these laws in the first place.1 point

I was spotted and stopped yesterday. I was was carrying OWB with a shirt over it and was probably printing pretty hard. I don't carry ALL the time but everytime I have to hit the WW on Walbrook in West Knoxville I make sure I am. I had a bad experience there so I make sure I am ready this time. I had to bring my kids this time and that was apparently what the guy had a problem with. Here is what went down: A guy came up to me and asked me if I had a gun on me, I asked if he was security, we both did not answer the questions. After a short awkward pause he started into me about how I was a bad parent for having my kids around guns. He got pretty loud and started to cause a scene. He got loud enough that it scared my daughter who began to cry. At this point someone apparently told security, the arrived just at the right time, I was about to start yelling back. When security came up they promptly escorted the guy out and asked me what happened. One of the security guys laughed as the took the other guy away and said he is getting tired of how ignorant people are about guns. He gave my kids a couple of stickers and told us to have a nice day. They also had a guy waiting at the door to make sure I made it to the car ok. This was the first time I have been spotted that I know of. As much as I dislike WW, I was impressed with the way they handled the situation.1 point
