  1. Yes because treating a health issue as a law enforcement issue has been sooooo effective thus far. give me a ####in break.     I have still yet to see how anyone can make a cogent moral case for exercising prior restraint on an individual's liberty because of what they "might" do at some point to abuse it. "Drugs are bad and will ruin your life, so if I catch you with them I will arrest you, throw you in jail, and ruin your life," has never made a damn lick of sense to me. 2. I don't buy the argument that we should have laws which restrict freedom simply because of what people might do. Tomorrow one of the 15 million owners of an AR15 might go on a shooting spree and kill a bunch of folks. Doesn't mean my rifle should be taken away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4.   That pretty much solidifies the process of manufacturing pseudo-events. Media skews information in their favor while it feeds the ratings and people are paying attention, and once bigger stories control the attention of the general public, damning information surfaces. I doubt it will gain any mainstream attention.

  5. Holy crap HD just went from 60 year old technology to cutting line technology!  I have nothing against Harleys, it's the majority of the people that ride them that get on my nerves.  It's the whole "I'm being an individual, but I'm going to wear the same gay looking pirate leather costume as all the other individuals" mentality.  Harley Davidson has become nothing more than a lifestyle of what is best described in the motorcycling communtiy as RUBs, that's "Rich Urban Bikers" they never ride anything that has more than 5,000 miles or is more than 3 years old.  Consequently they can't tell you about the last trip they took out west that the bike didn't ride the majoity of miles on a trailer.  The trip to Alaska, or South America, because the majority of HD riders can onl tell you about the beer and barbecue joints within 50 miles of their house.  I'm not bitter, I just ride a 23 year old Honda ST1100, it's ugly, it's dependable, and I ride the crap out of it, don't care what anyone else thinks.

  6. Having just bought a new Harley (my first) a couple of months ago I looked at a lot of different bikes.  I personally think this has the potential to do just fine and in fact I like the looks of it.  Like me, there are plenty of people out there who aren't what I could consider "hardcore" Harley people or even hard core bikers for that matter, but there is something still, even to this day about owning a Harley.  Some could care less, and that's ok, but having had other bikes before this, I have to say I have a bigger sense of pride riding this bike than I did the others.  Maybe it is vanity, I won't say it isn't, but it has been different.   There are some who love a motorcycle for just that, any two wheels that they can get on and ride.  I am somewhere in between.  I like to ride, but I wouldn't call it a passion.  It is a hobby.  Does that make me less of a "Biker" or Harley guy, maybe, but what it shows is that there are those of us with disposable income willing to buy something we like, not that we have to have.  I suspect there will be some who maybe don't feel comfortable with the larger Harley bikes and want something a bit more modern and I think this fits that bill.  I don't think any hardcore biker, no matter the brand, is clamoring for an electric bike.  But, the guy who wants something different to ride around on or to and from work, I think it looks pretty cool.   Only time will tell, but if Honda had come out with this, I think there would be many calling them the leader in the market.

  9.   Do not send them to bigun, he is just going to use those dangerous small primer 45 ACP brass. Why risk his life and you being sued. I will gladly "destroy" that small primer brass. Heck, I will even pay for shipping.   In all seriousness I LOVE small primer 45 brass. The reason is I can use small rifle primers to load it up. That is one less primer type I need to have on hand. I quit loading large primer 45 ACP brass a long time ago and put large primer brass in my end of the world bucket. I have shot a metric ton of both large and small primer brass and cannot see a difference between them performance wise. Just make sure your pistol will ignite small rifle, if not use small pistol. I use small rifle in my pistol calibers, 45 ACP as well as 9mm.

  13. It was handy from my lunch on the run. I had to literally open the box, open the knife three or four times, laugh maniacally while shredding said wrapper and get back to work. I'll probably need stitches by the end if the night.

  14. :D I am a happy camper today! Ran home at lunch to open it a few times. FYI, these things are SHARP as promised. I sliced a hamburger wrapper to ribbons with no snagging and barely had to touch it.

  16. There are a lot of HD riders looking to be seen on an expensive bike the louder the better it's all about the attention, I feel HD will always make bikes to cater to that crowd. Then there are those who just enjoy the experience of being on 2 wheels and want to be able to ride whenever they can for as long as they can. That second group is FAR more accepting of new tech if it extends the ride from what I've seen, they were the first I saw shell out $$$ for daymakers(LED headlights), the first to welcome fuel injection coming to HD bikes, and will likely be the first to really embrace an electric HD bike and put some real miles on it. Harley has been around a long time and has made many adjustments to their path, the livewire isn't ending their current lineup only joining it eventually if there is enough interest. It's no different then them adjusting to real or perceived market desires during any other time period in their history.

  20.   So I went and read all 34 pages on doodie and looked the at the YouTube stuff.  Getting pass some of the immature language being used, some of the posters' analytics of the video timing data is very convincing that this wasn't just a couple mis-reads of the timer - - - this was a pattern of cheating that has gone on for some time.          I think this is a Really Big Deal.    This isn't some local match guys trying to make themselves look good.  This is a longtime RO, GM and former national champion who appears to have been "cooking the books" with his timer for several YEARS!    Think of the hundreds if not thousands of honest shooters that he cheated in that amount of time.

  23. Ok, I can't post pics...But received my knives just a few moments ago! Interlude...Thanks Willis!! They look great!! Open and close with Authority!! Good firm action. Feels great in the hand. Strong feeling frame. And great looks overall. And for the guys who like sound effects; both open with a very distinct "Shnictk" sound. Very Wolverine-esk sound. Just a good, solid piece of craftsmanship. Not being a big knife person, I don't think either of these will be for carry. I have a few others that do that duty for me. I think these will join my few really good knives that get looked at and wiped down occasionally. The only knife I have that I would consider better than the TGO ProTech would be my Kim Breed Limited Ladder Damascus. I also have 2 of Kim's neck knives, and they are fantastic as well. In short...I'm very well satisfied with these.

  24.   Name a bike that can go 700+ miles on a tank.   I think it is a great thing. They are trying to bring in a younger generation to riding motorcycles which isn't a bad thing. Electric motors generate their max torque from the first revolution unlike gasoline engine that require the revs to build.

  25. Harley is introducing 500cc water cooled bikes, too. Electric bikes have been around, but now they have a bit of legitimacy.     I think this is exactly what it would take to bring Harley Davidson into the twenty-first century.   There are a lot of cats that want to ride something reliable, nice, good looking, and the brand is less important than the mission. H-D isn't the largest manufacturer in the world, Honda is. Harley just has some of the most closed minded fan bois, just like the Glock or 1911 or Sig mindset that nothing else is good enough.   Harley is a brand, not a bike.   The Livewire might be enough to make them a bike again.   Or at least push someone else to make a better one, which is a nice side effect of innovation.

  26. What do you mean cam?   I misspoke earlier. I was thinking grip safety and not thumb safety.   I will say take it very, very slowly. The difference between a safe gun and one that isn't is literally a few draws of a file when if comes to the thumb safety. Here is a pretty good video to show you where it needs to be filed. The good parts start about 5:30 and show you a good comparison so you can see what will likely need to be filed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkYOn9S6ULg     Continue to file until the safety will go all the way up but with some resistance. Then apply some grease and work the safety up and down repeatedly until it loosens up a little. Or if you want use some 600 grit sandpaper wrapped around a popsicle stick to act as a file to slowly remove material until the safety is a little easier. There should be ZERO clearance, or close to it, between the nub on the thumb safety and the cross bar on the sear. The more clearance the more of a chance the gun might accidentally have the hammer drop.   The part that contacts the sear is designed to lock the sear against the hammer. The numb on the thumb safety should move up and over the cross bar on the sear when the thumb safety is engaged. Also, do not use your old one as a template for what to take off. No two safeties are fitted the same. It is best to take your time on the new one and get it perfect.

  32. I agree. I don't believe the "typical/stereotypical" Harley person will take to this. But.. I do see this as an attempt by HD to get into another market. And if the bike performs as well as the short video clip infers; I'd think it would appeal to quite a few people. A quieter, less ecologically unfriendly bike surely would draw a lot of attention these days. JMO

  40. Now that you have seen the first COLLECTIBLE KNIFE come to fruition ; what is the problem here. We need support for what will be THE one and only TGO GODFATHER , the real true knife to be drawn as a life defending piece of FAST STEEL. Don't sit back any longer and think " oh , I like it, but bet I can get one later " , IT WONT BE HAPPENING. Sure it ain't cheap but it ain't a cheap knife. This is the time to step up to the plate , NO .22LR THIS WEEK AND IT's PAID FOR. Which will last longer , that brick of overpriced .22 or the GODFATHER ? Easy answer my friend , the fastest and most solid blade that can occupy a pocket ; the Protech. Buy now or cry later , someone is a loser , the guy that challenged you , or the purchase you waited too late for. The moral of the story is : He who waits to buy will surely one day cry. GET THOSE WALLETS OPEN , WE GOTTA HIT 50 ! Support our forum and one hard working dude , WILLIS !

  42. You might do well to google OrigkiAK ( not correct spelling). He competes in USPSA with AIWB. He has a few articles on it. You can shoot from concealment in Uspsa all you like but people will keep telling your score will be between without it. Given that you have not comp shooting experience I'd suggest shooting a few matches with your holster on the strong side of your hip till you get stuff figured out. No since in compounding the learning curve right off the bat. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  45. Vouch for your friend when he lists stuff. The reason why we insist on you owning the item and having it in your possession is it prevents problems that have arose in the past. You list the item then someone says they will take it but when you go to get the item the owner has already sold it or decides to keep it. Now you are the one loosing reputation. It is also cheating a system that works very well to keep scammers at bay.

  47. No one had ever asked me.  But if they did I would mention something about keeping my options open,  fight or flight like has been mentioned before.   One answer I never will give,  and no offense intended to those of you who think  they are this.  But I am not a sheep dog, I have no intention of using my carry gun to save anyone who is not a loved one of mine.  I DO NOT carry to protect anyone else.   You are on your freaking own.  If you get shot and maimed because I did not pull my gun to save you then Oh Well.  Too bad for you.

  48. You guys and your 640 no dashes make me sick! Do you know how many times a day I beat my head into the wall because I sold mine? Actually, I ditched the stainless j frames for stainless k frames, particularly matching 2" 64's. I was thinking that adding an extra round was well worth the extra 4oz. Hindsight I should have kept a 640 and only bought one 64.
