  1. Sure glad to see you have made it home. Good to see you back on here as well. Take time to heal and don't over do it.
  2. Just FYI, around here folks refer to our bodies of water as Norris Lake, Watts Bar Lake, Loudon (they don't bother saying the word "lake"). When you say the word "Lake" first people start assuming you might be from the north side of the Mason-Dixon. Welcome to the region and good luck finding what you seek. You might look around the Roane County area close to Watts Bar. It provides plenty of structure fishing and not too far from everywhere. Around here folks call it the "Promised Land", because most of the land is promised to a niece, nephew, son or daughter.
  3. That's great news! I am anxious to see him posting again.
  4. Praying for the next step...
  5. Sending prayers and well wishes for a fast recovery.
  6. I fished a December tournament on Norris one year at 16 degrees, 20mph wind, 4 inches of snow in the boat and had to dip the rod every other cast to clear the ice from the eyes so I could cast. I won the tournament. That was when I was younger and dumber.
  7. I want to wish all TGO members and their families a Happy New Year. May the coming year be blessed with good health, happiness and contentment.
  8. "hello, marketing this is sales, how about a do-over?"
  9. I guess I just won't go and not have to worry about it. That seems to work for me.
  10. Merry Christmas to all the TGO Community and thanks for the enjoyable interaction on the forum throughout the year.
  11. I still have my 1894 Daisy, 1894 Daisy Buffalo Bill edition, 1873 Daisy "Peacemaker" (Still new in its original box), and 4 or 5 Hahn 45 CO2 single action BB revolvers. Does that make me a hoarder?
  12. Between those mentioned, I would probably buy the 1973 1894 Winchester simply because they are no longer producing them. They were still decent rifles in '73. Also, I spent my youth watching westerns on TV and Saturday matinees and the '94 Winchester was iconic. Granted, the pre-64 Winchesters are the pick of the litter, I have a 1976/77 production 1894 that has been a great rifle since I bought it new. Then when you get your pocket filled back up, get the Marlin. Just my opinion.
  13. Tell me about it...those soccer moms get pretty hostile if you violate the car line etiquette in some way.
  14. That can be a dangerous place to be! Welcome to East Tennessee. Save closet space when you get here and leave your "Idaho Winter" stuff boxed up in the garage.
  15. It looks like the pool of possible coaches is getting very shallow...how about Mathew Mcconaughey? It worked for Marshall

    Darby

Dang it Bersa, that made me misty. You should take up writing short stories as a hobby. The fact that she barked at an "intruder" (at least that is how she perceived the landlord) indicates she is defensive and protective of "her" home and probably you as well. Another good sign.
  17. I hope you and Darby are a good match. Between the pictures and what you posted it appears and sounds like Darby is feeling comfortable and secure in your home. That is a good start. I'm sure pork chops didn't hurt. When I met my wife she gave me pork chops and that was over 32 years ago and I'm still here. Don't feel bad about the first effort, if it wasn't right for you, chances are it wasn't going to be right for Obie Wan either. A "Compa"nion has to be "Compa"tible. I hope it works out for both of you. Oh yeah, it sure looks like Darby has some German Shepard in those veins.
