50 is probably enough for highway tread. 10 psi below max is as low as I would run mine. With the more aggressive tread designs your better off with them a little tighter so you don't get uneven wear patterns

Yes most of it is thicker and annealed. With it being thicker it also has less case volume so be careful when approaching max because it usually takes less powder to achieve

First thing I learned is mow high, no sense in scalping it when you mow every week plus. Mulching blades are junk. Get high lift ones and tie the chute back as stated above. Never blow the grass the same direction it just piles it up. Its harder to turn around and come back with a tractor style than a zero turn but do it anyway. MG 13 mags can be made to work in the Hakim. I'm sure you know to be selective about surplus ammo for these. You'll need a good gas tool of coarse. They are amazing shooters even with steel case Romanian. Never shoot any Turk in these. Sunfish

I don't know much about these magazine guns but your going to want to control the gas with a Schuster or something. This being a non-standard gun I have no idea what it will stand pressure wise. M1's were powder and bullet weight specific. For example 150 gr. Ball with 4895 or 4064. I would stick to 147gr. 7.62 x 51 ball ammo and stay way from .308 Winchester with the heavy stuff like 168's and 180's until you can control the gas or you could bend the op rod. It could already be bent and that could be the reason it sold so cheap. There's a M14 mechanic in Madison named Ronnie Morris if he is still alive you might let him examine the rifle before firing it to be safe.

You will need a note book of your own and place the bullets across one side and the powder the other. The COL is helpful in the bullet tabs. Case volume is also a variable with straightwall cases.

Those Shaw barrels are short chambered so you will need a reamer to cut the last few thousands. I don't know anything about what Sarco is selling these days but you will need some sort of sights I recommend a Redfield or another quality one piece mount. I like a single action trigger pull verses a dart gun (striker fired). I also like double action for carry because if the gun is fired it's intentional and not a accident.
