Maker Space in Johnson City - Skillville JC - Anyone been there?

I think you have to sign up for the electric bill averaging thing. I was on it years ago, you pay xx/month, and make up or get the difference on an annual basis. I had a wreck on 11/26, but only cost me the deductible of $500, have a 7 y/o grandson so that takes the majority of xmas $$ right there. Everybody else gets the leftovers/scraps. LOL Wife's b day is in 6 days. Luckily, my side of the family quit exchanging bday & xmas gifts a decade ago, we get what we need or want through out the year, so why stress over getting someone something they don't want/need. I still get mom some little something tho. Wife & I are the same way, so we just go out to eat and get a card for each other on b days. Maybe I need to get some LED's for inside the house since the wife doesn't believe in turning off lights either. LOL

Sounds interesting, but a bit pricey. Where is the one in K town?? -
I have an IRA at Ameritrade, no complaints about them. Their website has some analytical tools as well. I've rec'd some emails from a "human" wanting to know if I wanted to discuss any issues but I'm familiar enough with the stock market and my objectives, etc., to where I do it solo. I also have a 401K at Fidelity, and they have humans as well that you can talk to if you desire. I can and do recommend a financial advisor with Raymond James, they are located in the Brentwood area. PM me if you want their info. This advisory group has been in business for years, will help as much as you want or need, you can call 'em anytime and talk to a human.

Stores that stock Black Powder in NE TN
jpx2rk replied to Ronald_55's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
BPS has smokeless powder on the shelf, at Cabelas you pick up the empty bottle of desired powder and find an employee who goes into the dark dark back room never to be seen again. LOL -
The addition of sales tax on Cabelas will suck.

I try to not go outside during these times. Years ago, no problems, now at 62, not so much. It's a bit unusual for it to remain as cold as it is for this time frame around here. It's usually for a day or two, then it warms back up. Hug that forge a bit tighter. LOL

What guns, gear or training are in your crosshairs for 2018?
jpx2rk replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I have a hankerin' for a 17HMR for some reason, I want to improve my 200 yd and further accuracy. Right now at 200 yds, I'm consistently not consistent , 100 I've got down to 3/4" or better depending on the day. Range time will be required for the 200 yd improvements and that's not a real problem for me as I was usually at the range 2x/week for 2017, so 2018 should not be any different. -
You didn't say but is your investment held at a depository or in your hands/lockbox, etc. If held at a depository and things go south, you'll still have your silver deposit but won't be able to barter with it. It will also probably lose some value as there would be no way to "trade" your holdings for something of value. You could lose the entire investment due to this situation. Having the silver in hand creates other issues as well (safe guarding it would be #1). Silver is not much different than investing in stocks, different economic factors affect the daily price of silver or other precious metals just like the stock market. You take risks in either form of investment. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I don't think you're crazy to invest in silver, but I've never dealt with it, except for buying shiny stuff for the wife. LOL GL with your investment.

Stores that stock Black Powder in NE TN

I was at the Cabelas in Bristol VA on Tuesday and pretty sure they have BP, I know they have a good/decent selection of smokeless powder. I also saw a good selection of BP guns and accessories. Don't bother going to BPS, they are $5-10 higher on 1# jugs of smokeless powder than Cabelas and Cabelas is only 5 miles up the road. -
I've got 2 of the FV12's (204 & 223), call 'em them twins as they are dressed identical except for the stamping/marks on the barrel for caliber. Both are shooters, 1/2" groups or less are the norm with factory ammo or handloads. Lots of complaints about the tupperware stock, but I can still get 1/2" groups so I've not changed 'em out. Lots of people buy 'em for the actions, change out the barrel for a high $$ one, better stock and get good results. Some never fire 'em in stock configuration. I got mine for $219 each mid 2016.

I saw one young bobcat kitten on my way to the ORSA range a few weeks ago along Hwy 95, and have seen a few dead yotes along I75 in Loudon county.

Reminds me of the "diversity" issues UTK had a year or so ago, where the Head (?) of the Diversity office at UT suggested ALL students should be referred to as "its" (I think that's right IIRC), or something similar so there would be no gender bias, etc. There may have been some other new terms for determining or not determining a person's gender.

We have a chance against Vandy, as they are also winless in the conference, so it's the "Bottom of the SEC Bowl" next weekend. Bragging rights for the state are truly at stake here.
-
I bought a Rigid brand at HD that looks just like the one pictured except for the color scheme for $129 every day. Reviews were good
-
I've seen some guys at ORSA make one or two shots to confirm zero and leave, seen some be there a long time.
-
I doubt UT will win even one SEC game this year.

On 11/1/17, bought a 10/22 carbine, a Feddersen's 16.5" fluted barrel & BX trigger group and an Archangle stock, then on 11/4 went to a buddy's house to tear the OEM stuff off and put the improved stuff on, put a 4x12 scope on it until I found something better. Took it to the range yesterday to sight it in and ran ~200 rounds thru it. Half to 3/4" groups with cheapo ammo yesterday. Have a Weaver 36x coming in the mail should make cutting cards and small groups easier when I find the ammo it likes. After getting the above rifle put together, went to another LGS with my buddy, ended up bring home a Ruger 22/45 Lite in bronze & black, and have a Ruger can in jail now. The Lite and the Feddersen barrel are factory threaded, so I thought why the hell not. LOL

I've read a couple of news stories and heard the talk on TV as well. The $$ amount of the buyout not in question, the comment about just Pilot Oil/Haslam/Dish $$ going straight to the buyout issue is probably not in line with NCAA rules/regulations.
-
The part about "donor $$", Pilot/Dish $$.

Still no source, just speculation on your part.
