  1. I haven't looked for any in quite a while. I know I paid too much for it, but I bought a case just as the "shortage" began. That supplemented my stocks, so I really haven't paid much attention the situation this year. If, and it's rare, that I go in a Walmart, I will walk by the case and look. Sort of out of nostalgia. I haven't seen 22 in the stores I have been inside in almost 2 years. In fact, if I hadn't bought a highly modified 10/22 from Dolomite last year, I don't think I would have shot any at all. I will say the rifle is amazing. I was getting dime sized groups at 50 yards and almost the same at 75. For me...that is extraordinary. And it's all due to Dolo's build.
  2. Yes, I got that email this morning as well. If the shirts are as good quality as the Longmire shirt I got, I'll be very happy with them.
  3. I had the pleasure of speaking with the reps from Southern Grind at the NRA convention earlier this year. I was very impressed with the quality of the product, but more so by the company and the rationale for it. I've always been a Zac Brown fan, but this was just icing on the cake for me.
  4. Thanks for that link buddy. It might be worth a try on one to see how they stand up next to the Tyler.
  5. You will love it! If you don't, just send the t-grip to me. Seriously...it is a great addition to the small grips on pocket guns. I've never liked the grips on j-frames and the small Colts. I'm just not comfortable with them.
  6. I have a T-grip on a Smith Model 19 snubbie. It makes a hard to hold pistol a dream to shoot. I'm looking at the possibility of ordering a couple for some j-frames.
  7. Now this I could get behind. lol
  8. I agree. A V-neck shirt is my favorite. Have a had time with tight collars around my neck.
  9. That's me as well. Being the wishy-washy type who can't make up mind on color choice, I got black and blue. lol
  10. JMO, but a yes on the blade. A no on the handle/scales for me.
  11. Interesting...but need more information. Will see what I can find on the movie. Ok...just did a google search on the movie. It immediately led me to series of "trailers" that got progressively more bizarre. New World Order, Illuminiatti, and Hollywood Satanic control, and worst of all Piers Anthony. Not saying this is a bad thing to watch, but the trailers don't leave me with a warm and fuzzy feeling. So I'll wait and see what some of you other guys have to say about it.
  12. Have never owned a PPK/S, but they sure are a good looking series of pistols. Perhaps some day one will find its way to me.
  13. I am soooo envious right now.
  14. And in other news...no one cares. We no return you to your regular programming.
  15. Really. It is strange. A sign of the times? Are people afraid to be seen with something even remotely associated with the Old South and anything that smacks of personal independence? Or just too broke to spend the extra money for the tag?
  16. You will find many opinions on the Taurus line, most of them in the negative. I'm not one of them. I have owned more than I can count and can say the only one that ever gave me any issue was a Model 94 22lr revolver. It was terribly inaccurate. I returned it to the dealer and got a full refund for it. They sent it back to Taurus, who sent me a free replacement for the pistol. It was perfect. Now as far as their autoloaders, I currently have 6 of them. From a Gen 1 Pt111 to a Gen 2 24/7 and a couple of 1911s. None have ever given me a problem. Do I carry them as a primary defensive weapon? Not normally. Not because of issues of distrust of the Taurus line, but more because I prefer other pistols more. I won't try to convince you that Taurus hasn't had problems recently, and more than most people are comfortable with at that. But Taurus pistols fill a niche as an affordable, entry level pistol, and as a serviceable range, backup, truck/car, or just a home hideout gun. Are they the equal of all other brands? I would have to say probably not. Are they the piece of crap many say? No. I don't think so. Now...would I carry it as an EDC? If it was all I owned or could afford, and I'd shot it enough to be comfortable with its capabilities; I believe I could carry it for defense. Just my personal opinion. Now if you want more comments on the Taurus products, visit the TaurusArmed.net forum. Yes, it does exist. There are a lot of people who like and carry them daily.
  17. Thanks. Not familiar with Mr. Gammon, but must confess that I'm one of the masses that don't read a lot of history. But I will make an effort to look into his works.
  18. Being nosey. Who was the writer? Thought about trying to get a few from various authors I like. Would love to have a signed edition of Robert A. Heinlein. Or from Jack L. Chalker. Alas both are gone now. Most recently, I'd like something from Larry Correia and John Ringo. And to blow your minds...Charlaine Harris. Yes, the lady who wrote the Susie Stackhouse books that became the HBO True Blood series. Let me tell you, the books are very much better. Her more recent books, the Midnight, Texas series are rather intriguing. I have liked them all.
  19. NO....you didn't go there!
  20. Great idea about the less fancy version. That I might give a try. Now about that project list, if mine gets any longer; I'll need a hundred more years to finish them at my pace.
  21. Neat project. I'd probably screw it up though. My woodworking skills are pretty pathetic.
  22. Those look absolutely great!!!
  23. Congratulations, Cartel! Makes me want to do another.
  24. That's a nice El Camino!
  25. I've made multiple purchases so many times I probably have a special file all to myself. But they've all been pistol buys.
