  1. Bought one for my son when he was born. I want to say all I had to do was send the application, fee and copy of birth cert. Easy as that.
  2. His name is RJ. Hershel wouldn't be a baby anymore either since they did the time jump.
  3. Good to know. I figure a few in our inventory wouldn't be a bad idea. The family probably wouldn't eat them, but I would to stretch the foods they will eat.
  4. Have you ordered MREs from them and if so, were they tolerable? I've thought about getting a few to keep on hand.
  5. It's not too bad back in the trees. Cold weather didn't seem to help get the deer moving unfortunately. No increased action on my trail cams, but I did get a pic of the largest bobcat I've ever seen.
  6. I have a door organizer that holds some of the small stuff that was taking more space than it should have. If you have ammo in there, I suggest pulling it all out and reorganizing it. I picked up a fair amount of room just changing the way I stack it.
  7. Easy, Michael Keaton's batmobile in armored "sleep" mode.... I use one of the cabled snapsafes in one car and a vehicle specific safe from Tuffy for the other.
  8. Around 3yrs or so. The patch of fur on his forehead hasn't gotten dark yet and his face still looks long and narrow. Nice looking buck
  9. You could try the low/no carb dog foods but that's going to be pretty expensive too as a primary food source.
  10. It's been a while since I did all this, but a vial of insulin is 10mL if I remember correctly. If your dog needs 18 units each dose, that should be about 55 doses per vial. I don't know what the going rate is on insulin since there are several, but maybe that math makes the price easier to stomach. You could also try cinnamon and see if that helps control his blood sugar.
  11. I assume by treatment you mean daily insulin injections? Ask your vet about Rimadyl, maybe Meloxicam, for the hips. Both of those will help with the joint inflammation to a degree, which should help with the discomfort.
  12. With that round, had he done a head shot, there wouldn't be a lot of skull left. The temporary wound cavity would have been greater than the size of the doe's head.
  13. That fact did not escape me sitting in a ground blind in complete darkness at 11pm when we were out there. At least they aren't particularly quiet when the come in.
  14. My guess is a tusk got his hand if he was trying to fend it off. The place we went to in Georgia told us a story about one of their guys going out to check feeders. They said the guy was driving his utv and a hog charged him and ended up in the cab with him. After 3 shots from his pistol at basically point blank, the hog got out.
  15. The only buck I saw this morning was on the way to my lease. The weather was awesome but the deer weren't cooperating. It's like they don't want to come home with me or something.
  16. Does the Thermacell not spook the deer as far as smell? I spray my clothes down with Sawyers which helps some with the mosquitos but they didn't see to care this morning.
  17. While not uncomfortably warm this morning, the damn mosquitos were out in force. Other than squirrels, nothing was moving. It's supposed to be cool this weekend so hopefully that will change.
  18. They're staging across from where I work. There's an impressive amount of people & vehicles used for such a short visit.
  19. Mississippi allows single shot rifles, but of a certain caliber like .35 Whelen or larger.
  20. I got out Saturday morning. Drove through 2 storms to get to my lease and expected to meet up with my buddy but the rain ran him off. Since I was already there I went ahead and climbed my tree. Between walking through tall grass/pine saplings and light rain, I was good and wet. Never saw a thing, at least not until I left and drove past a couple of pieces of land for sale on the way home. A couple of does were out in the fields. I got a decent 8pt on my cam with a tall rack. If he sticks to his afternoon pattern, I'll have to do an evening hunt.
  21. Not sure what your price point is, but the Leupold Mark AR is very clear. I've only used the 3-9x, but they make it in 4-12x also.
  22. Cool weather would be awesome, but it's a dream at this point. We're showing rain too for opening day. I hope it holds out until late in the day.
  23. If you decide to burn the poison ivy, avoid the smoke. You don't want the same reaction you get on your skin in your lungs.
  24. I have a few nice 8pt on my cameras, but they're all night pics for the last couple of weeks. I guess it's been too hot lately for a lot of day time action.
  25. Of course all the food in the world won't do you any good if you don't kow how to cook it. Sad, but some people couldn't boil water. Know how to use your preps.
