PackinMama,   Hope you will do a review on their product if you decide to buy.   I checked out their website, appears to be a competitive price point for quality product.   From all my internet surfing, I don't recall many if any holster makers specifically designs for the female consumer.   Very curious from your perspective for my wife's benefit.   Keep us posted!

Anybody know of a semi-reliable source for 500 - 1000 rds, 115 / 124 fmj.   FWIW, I'm using $.37 / rd out the door (including any tax, tag, license, fees, shipping) as my price point.

China controls 97 per cent of the world's supply and has been tightening its export quotas, sparking concerns that the rare earths could live up to their name. Now, the US Geological Survey has looked at all known national reserves of the elements as part of a larger assessment of the threat posed to defence by limited rare earth supplies. It found that the domestic pipeline is "rather thin". The US boasts the third largest reserves in the world after China and the Commonwealth of Independent States, made up of nations that were formerly part of the Soviet Union. But the only rare earths mine the US has ever operated, at Mountain Pass, California, is currently inactive. Mining may restart there within two years, but any other mines will be far behind. Down Under Only a handful of sites are even being explored. "Then it's literally years before you start applying for permits to start mining or building infrastructure or putting processing facilities in place," says Gareth Hatch of consultancy firm Technology Metals Research in Carpentersville, Illinois, who was not involved in the new report. It could be 10 years or more before any new mines open, the report suggests. The report says one of the most promising sites is Bokan Mountain on the southernmost island of Alaska. Ucore Rare Metals has been exploring there since 2007, and the region was once home to a uranium mine, so some infrastructure is already in place, together with a deep water port. The report suggests the US might break its dependency on China's rare earth monopoly by looking to other future suppliers of rare earths, including Australia and Canada. Australia has far fewer rare earths overall than the US, but the ore in its Mount Weld mine contain the highest concentration of the elements known anywhere in the world. Since the mine was completed in 2008, ore has been mined and is now stockpiled, ready for its rare earths to be extracted.

I've got a buddy who, when he sells to friends, gives uber-fair price and always includes a bunch of extras, holsters, mag carriers, mags.   He doesn't do this however:   Quote:  A little background, my cousin is the type that has a new carry gun every time you see him and is constantly buying new guns and then trading them in on something new.   I saw a sign at Joe's Crab Shack, "when I die, my worst fear is my wife will sell my fishing gear for what she thinks I paid for it."   Quote: Consequently he chooses to lay-away a bunch of stuff to sorta fly under the radar with his wife.   Change his sign from fishing gear to guns and stay on good terms with his wife!   Contrats on your deal, it ain't about what you paid, it's all about how you feel.

I've got a 75B Omega and it is the bomb.   It was my EDC for last few years.   As far as accuracy, because it fits my hand better and feels more comfortable, I shoot it better than my wife's Glock 17.   99.982% reliable, lost my round count over 10k. I've never had a failure due to ammo, the only failure I experienced was the the trigger bar spring broke.   Parts readily available for DIY stuff at CZ-USA. 3 very reputable custom shops depending on what you want to do.   Aside from the de-cocker on the tactical, they are identical.   I just closed a deal on my second CZ, a Matt Mink-tuned P-01, which is a de-cocker model.   Sexy? I thought they were CZexy...

After doing a quick check of our vendors' websites, it was not clear if any carried or had access to Don Hume products.   No worries though, found an on-line authorized retailer and got squared away.   Would have liked to spent my money here...

This is the third time I have hosted for and trained with Randy; obviously I have a bias, but I have come to like and trust Randy as an instructor.   It was a one-day course that began at 9a with "Pests Eat Fast", learning that distance is your friend and dry work with our handguns. The dry work was particularly helpful for my wife who was the most novice shooter in the group.     We broke for lunch at noon; I strongly suggest you always bring some type of camp chair to any training session unless you like sitting on the ground.    We then headed to the range and everyone pitched in to get everything set up. If you are hosting, consider buying or borrowing a pop-up shelter.   The biggest challenge on the range for Randy was working with my wife. The course is designed around drawing from a holster and getting out of immediate line of fire/attack. Sharon doesn't carry, her gun is dedicated night table/home defense. Randy was able to quickly adapt and tailor training to her. Easily done in a small class setting.   Did I get anything out of it - yes, a very subtle change with my trigger finger. I used 3 different pistols, 2 I carry (CZ75B Omega/MK9), one new one (Gemini Custom 3" SP101) and took the opportunity to work on my off-hand skills. I am pleased with my results, the performance ofl platforms and much more confident shooting with my off-hand.   Sharon - yes, she liked Randy and his teaching style. She could shoot better at 4pm than at 1pm. Randy said if he had one more day, she would be shooting very well and told her if a BG walked in the bedroom, he probably wouldn't walk out.   This brings up a topic we discussed: what to do in a home invasion? We all agreed we are not trained SWAT members and sweeping your home is proably not the best tactic. Basically, if you don't have to leave your bedroom, don't and sleep with your bedroom door locked. If you have loved ones in another room, have a plan.   My buddy Bill - yes - said he felt it was worth the money and glad he attended. He did say he was going to buy mag carriers as he saw the dis-advantage of carrying extra mags in a pocket.   We had 2 other TGO'ers attend, I hope they will post their experience and let me know how we can make the next event better.       I also recommend bringing a mag loader.          

Interestingly, clown #1 had his video running when cop shows up. clown #2 on left is ready or is also recording based on position of his phone. clown #3 has a camera around his neck and also appears to recordning the incident.   Trying to get video dirt on this officer simply to prove what? The are right, in the right, have rights, had rights violated, didn't have right violated, proved that LEO's are professional and courteous?   To all you ladies and gents in Law Enforcement, may God bless and protect you and thank you for your service!

Government's purpose is to enforce the law and prosecute the BGs when they break the law   Well, when YOU are following all the laws, Government has little to no power over you.   So friendly Government simply passes more and more laws and regulations so it becomes quite impossible for you, as a productive individual and upstanding member of society NOT to break the law...How many federal, state and local laws on the books, thousands? You travel across state lines and the rules can change and you just broke the law (and get caught) Quit whining, tell it to the judge.    So now Government prosecutes with the threat of incarceration and pleas down to a hefty fine...I'm not a conspiracy guy, but it is all about the money. Government knows that if you follow the law, carry insurance, trying to provide for you and your family, have a home, have good work ethic and try to live by the Golden Rule, you probably got something they can get - money. Take the professional BG, they typically don't have tangible, attachable assets, so when you break the law, let the pillaging begin.   Let's say you got caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people which resulted in your interaction with Government being more feloneous in nature. Now Government will take all your stuff plus all the stuff it cost you attempting to defend yourself plus they will take away your right.   Once they take the right because you broke any number of the thousands of brain-dead "gun safety" laws on the books, you now can't legally protect yourself from oppressive Government and place yourself in it's power.   Sure they want more gun control laws. It's a good long-term strategy to make it harder for law abiding gun owners to abide by the law(s)   Please get out and vote, send emails to your elected officials and financially support 2A organizations!

Does 20ga. have any merit over / under 12ga. for this particular application?   Other than a 20 is more "fun" to shoot over a 12 is all I got...

    Charter Arms just introduced a 9mm revolver that doesn't require moon clips

  I use a mis-mash of old and newer tech, so posting pics can be tricky.   It was one of those "speechless, teary-eyed" gifts; a modern heirloom!

Before you BUY a shotgun, find someone who owns one and can show you how to properly shoot one.   After you do that, imagine inside your bedroom at Bad Guy Prime Time or 3am in the morning and discharging that shotgun.   It is a GREAT home defense platform, but if you are so startled and disoriented when you pull the trigger the first time, how quickly will you be willing and able to rack the action and shoot again?   The only advice I can offer is based on what worked for my wife.   she became comfortable and proficient with a Walther P22 and .22s poke holes in people just like every other handgun bullet.   When she was comfortable and confident, she upgraded to a 9mm.   We went shopping and narrowed down to 3 options for a full size 9mm; she picked out the one that felt "right" in her hand (Glock 17)   Welcome to TGO!!!

When's a good time to visit Academy?   Sounds like they have a slightly better price point than GM and saves me a little gas.

Was shopping for 9mm about two weeks ago in Knoxville. Academy was thin, WalMart(s) had zero, Gander Mountain was flush.   Paid $16.99 for 50 rounds of Blazer Brass, long gone the days of gold old Red Box Federal Champion for $12.97 at WM and $14.99 at my local LGS...   Please with the performance of the BB ammo, std 115gr fmj. Shot a bunch of it through a Glock 17, CZ75 and MK9 at Randy's recent training session in Knoxville.   No malfunctions and pretty clean shooting stuff, I'd buy it again.

I just received a gift of a 3" SP101 fresh from Gemini Customs and have a nice holster on the way.   In the interim, I need an interim; of the rigs I use, the retailers don't show a holster specifically for a 3" SP.   Here's where I need help:   The frame of a 3" Ruger SP101 is most similar to what 3" S&W model?   Thanks!  

What are they made out of?   Is it a laminated wood or an acryllic / polymer type of product?   Welcome to TN and the forum!

Government's purpose is to enforce laws and prosecute the bad guys.   What happens when law-abiding folks follow the law?   They are not subject to the power of Government enforcement.   Government doesn't like that, so Government passes more laws and regulations to make it impossible NOT to break the law, thus creating more criminals   They want us to break the law, not to incarcerate, but with to punish financially with fines backed up with the underlying threat of jail time if we don't meekly hand over our EARNED income.

I had an LCR in .38 a while back. Pretty good trigger out of the box, ok to shoot with .38spl, not so much fun with +p. If I went back to the platform, I would get one in .357 and have fun shooting .38   Not sure if the weight would be bothersome, but has she looked at an 2.25" SP101? It was my first EDC handgun.   I did some tuning on it to improve the trigger action, it's better than what it was...   Like the SP so much, I recently got a second one with 3" barrel which has been in the hands of Gemini Custom.

I was just recently talking to KnoxAl --- he is a current Sig guy, former Glock. To him, the Sig feels better in his hand and he doesn't mind the extra weight of an all metal pistol.   In my house, my wife has a Glock and I am a CZ guy (which must be the Mercedes of DA/SA since Sig is the Cadillac)   I shoot the CZ waaay better than her Glock; it is more comfortable in my hand.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I understand the Supreme Court ruled the AHCA was a tax, not an insurance plan.   So when folks don't pay their tax under the guise of payment for premiums, then the 16000 newly hired IRS agents get to earn their pay...   What happens when you don't pay your taxes?   More importantly, what insidious power does the IRS have that no one does?   My bet is they will fast-track wage garnishments, bypass "working" with the criminal tax evader and simply send out notices to your employers.   Dems and Reps arguing over de-funding? Please, through wage attachment this tax program will be funded by anybody with a W2 income. When they run out of W2, look out all you 1099s - they're coming after you next.
