  1. I have a fluke 117 at work and highly recommend it. Some of the other guys have craftsman and they seem to do a good job. With the number of computers on trucks now a days I just feel more comfortable with fluke.
  2. You don't say what type of gun you are carrying but I have a Galco m6 x for my Glock 19. Is auto retention with a thumb release. I don't open carry very often but find this holster very good
  3. Thanks to everyone for all the responses and information. Although it sounds as if this gun has a few quirks I think it's just what I'm looking for. The only thing that really concerns me is the magazine disconnect as I am not a fan of these. Can anybody recommend as gunsmith they trust to remove the disconnect and upgrade the trigger. As I tell my friends at work if you spend ten minutes on TGO your going to learn something new. Once again y'all haven't disappointed. Thanks for the help and Merry Christmas to all.
  4. I plan on adding a High-Power to my gun collection after the first of the year. I feel I have a good variety of guns to meet my self defense needs so that will not be the reason for this purchase. I am buying this gun with the intention of passing it down to my sons when the time comes. This will be the reason for most of my gun purchases in the future. I would like to pass on guns that have some significance in firearms history. Having spent most of my focus on Glock pistols I am not familiar with the High-Power at all. I fact I don't recall ever having laid eyes on one. I have researched the pistol and it does seem to stand out as an interesting firearm. I would appreciate any input on this gun as far as the following is concerned: 1) is this a reliable firearm 2) are there any common issues with I should know about 3) is my research correct is this an important firearm from historical perspective I appreciate any help y'all can give and any recommendations on other firearms that would be interesting pieces to pass down would be appreciated. Thanks
  5. I have the stainless steel comander sr1911. I have 500 rounds of Winchester white box through it without any issues. That is with chip McCormick and ruger mags. You might give a different ammo a try. I'm thinking about picking up a 5" barrel version in the near future. Hope you get things worked out
  6. The 23 sights will work on the 43 but they will hang over each side of the slide.
  7. The front sight on all Glocks are the same. The difference is in the rear sights. The 42/43 rear sight is 6.1 mm high were as the standard height on the glock 23 is 6.5 mm high. Glock sells a 6.1 mm high rear sight part number nr17g25 that fits the glock23. This is the standard height rear sight for the Glock 17 long slide. You would have to adjust your hold as needed. If the TFX sights measure according to this they will work. I have run truglo tfo on all my guns but the last three Glocks I bought I put Glock factory night sights on. The set costs $57.00 and I install. I feel they glow as well as any for half the price.
  8. Joej615 why don't you call 5 reputable gun shops and ask them the same question then follow their lead. You will probably be ok if you do.
  9. Your best bet is to raise the rear of truck on jack stands. If not sure of your current stands you need to buy some that are rated for the weight of your truck. You might be able to rent a pair from a parts house or rental place. Remember safety first.
  10. Bad crowd? From what I have seen this crowd is made up of people who are responsible, honest, friendly, concerned with the evil in our world and government, willing to help those in need, but who happen to enjoy guns and like our founding fathers realize the need for guns in a free society. Bad crowd , if y'all don't mind I think I'll just continue to hang with y'all.
  11. Glad to here you finally got them out, but not to be a party pooper , that was the easy part. Now you have to get them back in. I work on class 8 trucks and certainly feel your pain. It's amazing were engineers can put things. Always leaves a clear picture in my mind of were I would like to put my foot.
  12. For a carry gun from those choices I carry the 30s. It fits the same holster (leather) as my Glock 19. My 30sf is a fine gun but you are back to the larger slide. 10 plus 1 and my Glock 21 mag for spare should get the job done if needed. My 30s has been a flawless gun.
  13. When do you expect to get your sights. I live in hermitage and would be glad to meet you halfway. I have installed tfo's on all my Glocks. Install time would be about 15 minutes. I have mgm press for Glock sights. Would be glad to help just let me know. By the way I use the yellow rear/ green front and really like them.
  14. Tenn. School District Says It Can’t Stop Students From Displaying Confederate Flag Unless It Causes a ‘Disturbance’ You can be sure there are those who will create said 'disturbance' just to force the issue.
  15. After nine months of saving pennies finally brought a 17.95 oz baby Glock 43 home today. Have been carrying a kel tec p3at for quick trips to the store and ect but never felt like I had enough fire power. Hope to get it to the range this week and put it through its paces. I feel it will do fine. Will order a crossbreed iwb to carry it in and then it will join its big brother g19 as my primary carry weapons.
  16. 19 years to realize your free, better late than never. Congrats on a great day
  17. It's so cute. Here kitty, kitty, kitty.
  18. As a mechanic I just love sensors. The more sensors the more money I have in the bank. Keep them sensors coming.
  19. I have ADT at my house and have been very satisfied with the service. Sorry to hear about your breakin
  20. Perhaps coffee shops should require each customer to sing a waiver at time of purchase stating they understand the coffee is hot and will burn if spilled. The customer must also agree to handle said coffee in accordance with all local, state and federal coffee safety standards.
  21. Surely you have a booth at the NRA Convention so I can see this in person?
  22. Actually a system that is too large will be less efficient and less comfortable. In the summer it will not remove the humidity so you never really feel cool. In the winter it will heat the house too fast and not allow for balanced heat. The unit must be sized correctly so it can condition the load correctly. I would suspect that comfort is the main issue in this case.
  23. Your question cannot be truly answered without having the capacitor specs. On the capacitor will be a spec for capacitance for example 15. You will use a multi meter set to capacitance and take a measurement across the terminals. On the capacitor will also be a spec usually 5or6% which is the good range. So if we take 6% of 15 we get .9. If our reading is 13.5 we see that the capacitor is out of range and should be replaced. Even if our capacitor is reading 13.5 does not mean it will not work but is subject to fail. This failure will most likely occurr on the hottest day of summer or the coldest day of winter. If your capacitor is out of range it's an easy job to replace and not too expensive. Just be sure to cross the terminals with a screw driver after removing wires to prevent shock.
  24. It looks like you have a souvenir knife from the great Heidelberg tun.
