  1. It's a close counterpart but different enough not to be the usual clone redesign Ruger is becoming known for. I like the Shield ergonomics it the LC9s is pretty nice, to bad they did the LC9 first.
  2. Those were always overbuilt stout reliable pistols and fairly popular as well.
  3. This is a good point and I agree as the market is pretty deep in compact 9's and such particularly with Ruger's already very good SR9c.
  4. Look for an older S&W M-66 or 686 with 4"barrel. If you go with something newer or brand new you'll be dollars ahead if you go with a Ruger GP-100 and just do your best to shoot the stuffing's out of it. Spring kits are DIY easy installs and further action work isn't always necessary.
  5. It's that's a per ticket price all that I can say is wow. If it's for a pair of tickets then yeah that's kind of high for the nosebleed section.
  6. You can add some RAM but it'll probably be more cost effective to upgrade to a more robust laptop and keep what you have now as a lesser duty tablet. I'm in just about the same boat with a Toshiba C55 which is a little older then yours. When I replace it I'll keep it as a spare.
  7. Overall the G-34 is going to be more economical to feed and operate as well as having a lower felt recoil which equates to less fatigue. While I'd consider a proper 10MM Norma Magnum load in the true 41 Magnum equivalency for hunting I'd be less enthusiastic with the .40 S&W for that purpose. Were I handgun hunting it would be in a larger caliber.
  8. That was my take on the incident even before the individuals prior history and later reports of a traumatic brain injury came to light. Once the combination of illegal drug activity and display of a firearm came into play the totality of the circumstances were too egregious to ignore. If your going to exercise freedom of choice to do illegal things then why be a human billboard in public where either someone calls the police or you are observed by the police?
  9. Well to paraphrase a tune..."Mind control to Major Tom..."
  10. http://bearingarms.com/bob-o/2016/09/26/keith-lamont-scott-threatened-wife-gun-last-year/ You know, I'm not sure if you just like spinning people up with some of this garbage you write or are just plain delusional sometimes. The person in question was a convicted felon who served time in prison for shooting someone. Read the above link. All this information's been coming out for the last few days.
  11. Look. I get what your saying but your speculating or more precisely making an assumption which can be wrong. If this azzhat wanted to do the suicide by cop thing he only needed to start popping random rounds off in the air and point the darn gun at an officer. It's more likely he was having a lot more going on in his head at the time this happened.
  12. Hmm? That bears been living out of trash cans, stealing dog food and being left hand outs by misguided people. As friendly as that fellow might look that couldn't be further from the truth. Scary, very scary.
  13. TGO-D is likely closest to the mark but it has the look of a Sci-Fi movie or Shooter game outtake to it from my own perspective. But whatever it is it's kind of interesting.
  14. I learned a long time ago to let someone else who was a good shooter to put a pistol I was having problems with through its paces. Any problems were either shooter induced or easily identified and rectified. The G-19's a fairly reliable platform so I suspect the same process will shed some light for you. But I will point out that the grip angle on Glock pistols along with its trigger give some people fits of frustration.
  15. My educated guess would have been along the lines of TGO David's but I will freely admit the person in question could as easily be of Latin origin as well. Unfortunately the realities of contemporary history and current times point towards TGO David's initial premise.
  16. LOL...I've been seeing different iterations of that one for the last fifteen or so years and it's still funny whenever someone posts one.
  17. *yawn* Someone say Ruger's coming out with something new again, or another "improved" copy of someone else's "something new"? jk...jk...I like Ruger products but I'm not overly curious this go around.
  18. I've got an early model JM 1894 in .357Magnum and have been casually looking for its twin in .44 Magnum for a umber of years now. I love the older pre-cross-bolt safety Marlins. Insofar as the newer Marlins go I like some of their Cowboy 1894/1895 rifles in .45 Colt and 45/70. Your rifle appears to have some nice wood, how's the wood to metal fit around the tang and forearm?
  19. I'm not certain all of these "clown" sightings are legitimate but do believe some idiots are playing around with fire and are about to get burned.
  20. I've handled and shot The Thunder Five, Taurus Judge and S&W Governor with my preference going towards the heavier Thunder Five. In my personal opinion all of these are more novelty oriented then practical revolvers but others may disagree. Insofar as fit, finish and reliability between the Judge or Governor I prefer the later.
  21. I haven't had any success with pocket carry on pistols larger then a P-32 or P3AT/LCP for daily carry so I'd consider being able to successfully (and comfortably) pocket carry a Shield or G-43 a win.
  22. They produce good clean heat very economically but need to use a some form of electricity to run an exhaust fan to expel he smoke through an outlet pipe. The Outlet pipe is generally, but not always, run through a wall. Some stoves are much better then others and some of the older stoves are very nice. Just like with a wood stove the pellet stove and its exhaust pipe have to be cleaned out every year. Some folks use an air compressor, some use a leaf vac, I'm sure that there are other ways. I always wanted a pellet stove but used wood stoves instead. One thing to bear in mind with pellet stoves is you purchase bagged wood pellets by the pallet and stockpile them for future use. I'd be interested in hearing what brand stove she has. You can research it here...http://www.hearth.com/talk/forums/the-pellet-mill-pellet-and-multifuel-stoves.14/
  23. I've seen good and bad with Food Stamps and EBT cards, it might irk me to see some of the things being purchased or how people with EBT cards use their personal money but I'm not going to let it eat me up. One of the things some of you fail to realize is a lot of politics went into the Food Stamp and EBT programs where people purchasing applicable items do so in grocery stores. At one time IIRC cheese and some other food staples were directly given out by the government. We can debate and fuss about this at length but the reality is some people really need these programs and some others for whatever their reasoning make poor choices in using them.
  24. Nothing said here will in any way compare to actual hands on experience with both a G-17 and a G-19. You also need to try out 3rd gen and 4th gen models to see which you like best. Any gun range with rental guns will be glad to help you out, its what they get paid for. But as for me I'll agree with cch2a, the G-19 is hard to beat insofar as its size and handling go.
