Are forced reset triggers actually legal and for how long?
Grunt67 replied to MemphisStuck's topic in Long Guns
I haven't kept up with the bump stock, except what was on the news. My wonder is how the current adm. will look at it. Hopefully, not. -

Agree. Seems to be the same or similar principle as the bump stock. Matter of time before the knock on the door. -
I bought my one and only powder scale in 1968, used it ever since. It served me well. It was a Lyman/ Ohaus D5. Lately, I decided it was time for an upgrade, so I have ordered a RCBS Model 500. It has a heavier base, a bit easier to read. Old eyes call for desperate measures (pun), sometimes. Should be here sometime next week. I've got 300 more 45/70 to load. Thought this would help out. Getting old is better than the alternative, or so I'm told.

Think I'll wait for the one in Lebanon,tn in 2 weeks.

I may have to steal your idea, like it. My Hustler is going on 6 yrs. Still going strong. No issues.

When I first started reloading, way back before tumblers, wet or dry, I used Brasso & a rag to polish brass. Never had one to crack, or anything else bad. It worked, but slow.

Hmm..best news I've seen in a while.

Saw a video on Channel 4 News with a measured 1" gap, heavy rust. This didn't happen last week. -
Restrict NEW members from sending private messages?
Grunt67 replied to TGO David's topic in Feedback and Support
I can't see how this would discourage a legit newcomer from "joining" the forum, rather a reminder as to the reason they joined. I know many forums require a minimum # of posts before accessing other features. I've joined other forums that required something of that nature, and I had no issue with it. My vote is go with it. We live in a different world these days. Adjust & survive. -
Big catch, check out the photo of seized guns....

Imagine how much that would go for on Gun Broker! -
Maybe a bit of an explanation of P &P is in order. As we all know, finding anything gun/reloading relating is spotty at best. What I do, is, I watch these sites daily, sometimes more if needed. You just have to be there when they have it in stock, and it doesn't last long usually. I just happened to recheck the Hornady bullets at Midsouth earlier today, they had some in stock. I ordered what I needed, and let it go at that. I'm not a hogger. It takes patience to keep at it, but in today's market, it's the name of the game. It also helps, that I'm fully retired & have the time to do that. Good luck folks.

I just scored 200, Hornady 300 gr. JHP bullets from Midsouth, at the regular price. Altho, I don't but factory ammo, I have noticed the reloading components I buy from MidSouth, Midway, Powder Valley, etc., have held the line on their prices ( when they have any .) Of course there are others that haven't done so. P & P. Patience & Persistence.

Don't forget Flex Seal. -
You've got to know when to hold 'em, know when to load 'em..... .
-
Congratulations, Greg & family. Wish him the best. What are his plans?
-
IIRC, I believe you're right.
-
If you don't need it loaded, sit on it. You can always load as needed, and or sell if needed. You're in great shape. We all should be so fortunate. JMHO

No, of course not!, LOL. Pretty good racket, steal a gun, turn it in get a $$$gift card...all for free.

Auto Manufacturers pushing synthetic oil? (I’m a bit long winded today)
Grunt67 replied to Randall53's topic in General Chat
Speaking of Wix filters, and synthetic oil, I learned something today, the rest may already know, but I'll mention it just in case. Wix makes a filter just for synth. oil. it Has a XP after the part # . Bought one today for the F-150. # was 51372XP. For extended performance it says. I'll give it a try next change. FWIW -
Thanks, Greg. I have some on the way now.

No, it's not. And I was surprised Hogdon let that happen. It's very easy to avoid it. Some, maybe most, when you order, they set that quantity aside & put it on hold until they can fill that order. I know Midsouth has done this before. Why can't Hogdon? Yes, doctors are notorious for that, the VA come to mind in Nashville. I'll remember it tho.

A little update on my Hogdon post earlier. They over booked, got an email stating I would be getting none. Piss poor way of allocating, IMO.

So far, I've never been in a civilian firefight, but have been in plenty in Vietnam. There is no such thing as too much ammo. Just because there was only 4 or 5 rounds fired this time, doesn't mean that will always be the case. Funerals these days are much more expensive than ammo ( if you can find any ). Like many things gun related, it's a personal choice. If you're comfortable with a six shooter, have at it. If you need 15+ to feel safe, do that. FWIW, I carried 400 rds for the M16 + 18 rds for the M203 Grenade launcher. Sometimes, I was a bit concerned with that. JMHO

That's what I've used for years. Hasn't let me down yet. I usually get mine at Wallyworld. Don't recall the price. Mine takes 6 qts tho.
