  1.    Different class/instructor, different opinions. We were instructed to eliminate the shooter. Period. If you're alone, you go in alone, if you have your team, etc. use what you have. People are being killed while you do otherwise.
  2.    OS, that's kinda like fixing something, then breaking it again before it leaves the shop.
  3.    You're absolutely right. Ole Jack would smile at that chart & say "I told ya so".
  4. Seating to the lands is fine "if" you're firing single shot, other wise it still has to fit in the magazine. FWIW    I went thru that same scenairio with my Rem. 783 in .308. Ended up seating the bullet to the same a factory OAL, to fit in the mag. Probably could have stretched it to the max, but for hunting, didn't seem worth the effort. Match shooting, different animal altogether.  Just a thought. Depends on your needs. Good luck.
  5.  Tell the guys at the store what you're wanting to do & I'm sure they'll walk you thru the process.
  6. Walther PPQ in 40. Love it, wouldn't trade for anything. Does all I need to do, recoil is very manageable, as is follow ups.
  7. Never had them order a firearm, but have done reloading business with them for years, and they're good folks to do business with. Haven't had one issue. Can't see why any other deal would be different.
  8. I use a holster that "looks" similar to the Serpa, but the trigger issue is not there. Your trigger finger presses the catch, but stays out of harms way. It's made in Israel by IDM, about $30 I believe. I have zero complaints. Also, adjustable for cant, and is available with other options. It's a paddle type that fits over the belt.
  9.    Same here. Just one of my many mistakes.
  10. Hadn't planned on heading up that way anyhow, so loss for me. Sounds like a politician grandstanding on a feel good mission.  JMHO
  11.  I've always been partial to CCI, but never had an issue with any others I've tried. Just a personal thing, I guess.  Buy a box of 100, different brands, experiment, see if there is any difference. Not out a lot of money.
  12.    Same here. Never owned what you would class as a self defense gun 'til I was grown, actually 'til I was out of the Army. Thing was, at the time, I belonged to a rescue squad in Westmoreland. During the big flood of '69, we went to Red Boiling springs, which had heavy flooding. Went there looking for bodies + guard patrol. About 3 AM, shot were fired up on the hill. At what or who, never knew. Bought a Colt 38 next day. Roiugh day. Got a new respect for the power of water.
  13. Maybe put Ulysses S. Grant & Martin Luther King on all memorials nationwide, and see where the gripe goes from there.
  14.    Obviously not on S.S. or VA, then.
  15. That's true, but % wise it doesn't add up. Only a few places have it, so they jack up the prices, at least in this area.
  16. It's probably the best one in this area. Ahead of Goodmans ( which isn't saying much ), It has the usual ration of junk stuff, as they all do. Adm. is $10, free parking, sometimes scarce. Worth a trip tho. If you looking for reloading supplies, see David or Sam (DLM on here ). He has the best deals, need to check with them if they are going to set up.
  17.    And, there you have it. They're selling like hotcakes, price stays up & up &...........
  18. Similar situation, off topic, but, why does it cost more to leave Ethanol out of gas than put it in?
  19.  I still use an old lyman Ohaus I've had since the late 60's I think. Still works great. If I were going for a new one, the RCBS 505 would be my choice. JMHO    I also weigh each charge, necessary or not, no hurry. Just call me old school, I reckon.
  20.  I've used it in training & practice, never had an issue. Lot cheaper than the good stuff. I"m in good shape, or I'd jump on it, if it was close to home.
  21. Anyone going? R.K. Shows as usual. May be the last shot (pun ), for a while of any size. I'm planning on going, not sure which day as yet.
  22. I use the bucket & hand crank tumbler that came from Frankfort Arsenal with a dry tumbler kit I had before I went wet stainless. Works for me. There are many ways you can separate tho.
  23. Wally World, 00 buck
  24. I've been reloading rifle & pistil for over 45 yrs. The only FTF I've ever had was a 30-06 Winchester factory round. My carry round in 40S&W and 9mm is Federal Premium LEO Tactical, that was our duty round when I was LEO. Still got 'em, why stop using them,. Works for me.  Comes down to preferences & opinions, we know how that goes.
