Not sure what happened, saw a good deal on a used Springfield 1911 Black Stainless Target and had to have it. Those guys at Guns & Leather sure know how to dig into my wallet. Range report to follow, soon I hope.

Sounds like you all have some good gunshops up there. It also appears that they deal with you in a fair manner. We here in Memphis can only wish. I was just looking at similar gun today with the fixed sights that I prefer. Good find!

There are a few good ones in this area, Hero Gear is a little far away from me but they're good folks. Guns & Leather always treats me right so they get my business.

I'd rather have the fixed sights myself, but the black stainless got me hooked. The adjustable ones seem to be sturdy enough.

They are in Greenbrier, north of Nashville off I65 exit 98. Address is on their website. Metalhead runs their TGO forum, you might PM him with any questions.

From their website, Guns and Leather :

Do you take items in on trade?

Just about anything related to the business. We accept most accessories and firearms for trade on our goods, but we do not accept the following: opened ammunition, used muzzleloaders, old holsters, jewelry, and "Saturday Night Specials" and other very low-quality firearms (aka, Jennings, Bryco, RG, Raven, and others).

Don't hate fatboy!

I took her out to the range today, 150rds later I'm pretty impressed. I'm thinking about changing out the Springfield integrated locking system to a standard mainspring housing. Supposedly that will lighten the trigger quite a bit.

Really? I have a Mil-Spec and would love an easy trigger upgrade. Didn't even know they made a black stainless finish. Sweet 1911 Jeff

So they say... How to remove the ILS, with pics, part-numbers & descriptions. - 1911Forum

I told Springfield that my Mil-spec wasn't accurate at all (it wasn't, pretty sure it wasn't just me) and they had me send it in. They replaced the barrel, barrel bushing, and did some work on the trigger. The Mil-spec is now dead nuts accurate and has a great trigger on it. I was planning on selling the Mil-spec when I bought this new one but I think I'll keep both! :D

The black stainless looks even better in person than in the pictures, I fell in love at first sight.
