  1. I don't know what current procedure is but when I ran as an EMT with Kitsap County (Washington) FD we cleaned blood from the injured areas as part of the emergency treatment; not to make the injured "look pretty" but to be able to see the injury. We need to hear from those who treated him ad the scene and after to know just how injured he was. That begs the question, however, how much of beating is one required to take before it reaches the point of the beaten being in legitimate fear for his life? Must he want until he is almost dead before he can act?

  2. Charlie has done an INCREDIBLE job flipping that place over. There's nutz and jerks everywhere in life, but he has really run some of the enema bags from yesteryear, down the road. No more know it all jerk wads telling what and how to do something. If your muzzle discipline is good and you're not rapid firing or being rude, Charlie is good to go. He is VERY easy going but he does have a line and you will not cross it. For the record Owl Hollow is dead. Haffner Memorial Range is an EXCELLENT place to shoot and could very well be the best gun range bargain in the state despite his membership fee going up last year. $60/year now. Most of people waste more than that on vending machines and hobos every year.

  3. I'm not a "Rambo" gung-ho clear my house guy. If I get home and suspect something, I call police and let them do their job. Tuesday night my son had achievement night at school. We took separate vehicles in case I had to take our 2 yr old daughter home earlier. There was a dinner afterwards and she's usually in bed by 7PM. We all stayed the duration. My 9 yr old son rode home with me and the daughter went with Mamma so she could watch videos in the car. I stopped and got gas. Since we left at the same time and I got gas, I figured the wife would beat me home. First thing I noticed in the garage was my wife's car wasn't there. No big deal she made a stop too I thought. We have a basement level garage and my son took off ahead of me. I clicked the remote to disarm the alarm and he goes in. Halfway up the stairs my cell rings and my wife is frantic, "Don't go in the house. I called the police!" She was down the street in a neighbor's drive trying to flag me down before I got home. She had also tried calling but cell reception in my neighborhood is horrid. Even worse in our basement, I'm surprised she got thru when she did. My heart went into my stomach, my son was in the house. I dropped briefcase, phone, etc. I carry a P238 in my pocket all day but have a 1911 in the truck and carry it in each night. It was already in my hand so I drew it out of the holster and took it off safety and went in. What felt like an eternity, but probably less than 20 seconds, my son calls out, "Dad! Something's freaky with these lights!" Before my wife pulled into the driveway, she noticed a light come on in the house and go back off. I'm so proud of her awareness. She turned tail and called the police and tried to get me. My phone didn't ring and I didn't see her flagging me. I pulled into the drive at just the right time when no freaky light thing was going on so I was unaware. Come to find out, we had a 3-way switch that had gone bad and was periodically turning a light on, then off. Everything turned out fine, but when I figured out my son was safe, I had to calm my breathing down.

  4. Hey, at least it wasn't scissors! And what is the difference between a 1911 with the safety off and a gluck?

  5. Okay. AK newbie here. Traded for a Romanian WASR10, have a ridiculously low price in it because of a couple of trades that go me into it. I actually paid more for a case of 7.62x39 ammo last week in Hendersonville than I have in the gun. It looks like the typical ak as fair as I can tell. Pretty smooth metal finishing, no burrs or obvious problems. Foregrip and stock are not a perfect match, but are unfinished and I plan to stain and polycoat them. Got 2 used mags with it and bought 5 new Bulgarain mags. I've run about 200 rounds thru it so far and am quite happy with it.Considering I'd never shot one before, I was extremely happy to keep all the rounds from my first 2 mags in a 12 inch grouping. The gun ran flawlessly. Not a hiccup. No indication of a problem. If there are better ones out there, so be it. I got one I like. So for me, it's a keeper.

  7. Sorry to be cold; this is a self-correcting problem. Correct your procedures or your procedures will correct you. Thankfully, there was no collateral damage, wife, children, neighbors.

  8. Legitimate blacks recognize Sharpton and Jackson for what they are. The media and stupid people allow them to continue to think that they are relevant.

  9. Maybe the officers let him change clothes after the makeup artist were finished with him.

  10. Now, this may be a really wild suggestion but instead of relying on poor quality video that doesn't tell us much of anything about his injuries; how about we wait to hear testimony (if this case actually gets to court) from the medics and/or physicians that treated his injuries before we decide how "serious" his injuries actually were.

  11. Great ending to the possible situation, but i'll be honest, I NEVER WANT TO HAVE A SITUATION LIKE THAT AT HOME!

  12. Wow! Camera in a sallyport. Dang, all of those gadgets. All of this new technology is going to be the death of us. If paramedics cleaned him up that good they need an Oscar for best makeup in a horror film 2012.

  13. This video is really gonna add fuel to the fire. Zimmerman claims he was beaten to a point that he had to use deadly force. Where is the blood? Where is the swelling? I am not saying he was not hit but it looks like his claims were exaggerated.

  15. Is there something in the law that permits one to punch someone out because they're being followed? And one thing's for sure - someone pins me to the ground and starts slamming my head into the pavement, I'm getting them off me by whatever means are available and necessary - not excluding putting a couple in their chest if I can manage it.

  17. And I think that’s part of the problem here. Many people here are putting themselves in the shoes of the shooter because they have a carry permit. They want desperately to believe that they can use that gun any time they are in fear of getting their azz kicked and don’t have to worry about going to prison. Sorry, but that’s not how it works. I put myself in the shoes of the victim. If I’m walking down my street unarmed and someone jumps out of a truck and starts asking me questions, I’m going to tell them to GTF away from me. If they continue and get close I may well punch them out. I hate to think the fact that I may be winning gives them justification to murder me. If nothing else some may learn from this case. I don’t know what is going to happen to Zimmerman if he goes to trial; but I bet I know what will happen to him if he dosen’t.

  18. Based on what I've learned from the links posted here and elsewhere: I don't believe Martin should have to run away instead of standing HIS ground when someone suspicious was following him on a dark rainy night. He didn't seem to decide to that, he ran instead (no shame in that, likely the smartest move). I don't believe Zimmerman "picked a fight" or "caused the escalation" by simply keeping someone he thought looks suspicious in sight until cops arrived. He seemed to think the guy got away according to the tape I heard. I do believe Martin should have called 911 and reported some creep following him, if he really was threatened by that. Despite having time to do so, he decided he didn't need to do that. I do believe that Zimmerman thought he was in deep doo doo or there wouldn't be multiple witnesses and 911 recordings of him screaming for help. I don't care how bad I need an azz whoopin, I ain't letting someone bash my skull against a sidewalk...even if I started it. I don't care how mad I am that I'm being followed by some creep...it's no longer self-defense when I am sitting on his chest hitting him and smashing his head against the ground.

  19. And that is what I disagree with. When you are carrying a weapon you are in a different category than someone who isn't. Painting yourself into a corner to the point that you have to use your pistol is not the intent of self defense, SYG or responsible carry. It is my opinion that this is what happened. I base this on his 911 transcript and the subsequent dead teenager. There are plenty of LEOs around this site that regularly deal with mall ninjas like Zimmerman. Just looking for an excuse to be the hero. I wonder what it feels like for him now.

  20. If someone is simply following you (even if you feel like it's been for too long) and you blast them in the nose, you're going to jail. If Zimmerman's account of what transpired that night is true, once the kid broke the law by physically assaulting him, all bets were off. Whether or not Zimmerman is being truthful is a completely different story. I wasn't there, and I've read that multiple witnesses are giving accounts that contradict each other. If things went down as Zimmerman and at least some of the witnesses claim, I don't think he broke the law. If you want to argue whether or not he should have allowed the situation to escalate to that point, fair enough. But following someone through your neighborhood his not against the law.

  24. I guess "Was polite to some one on the way home from 7/11" doesn't play well on FB and Twitter. "Some cracker asked me what I was doing and I bashed his head on the sidewalk" gets you much better street cred.

  25. "Hey, what are you doing around here?" "On my way back to my Dad's from 7/11; got some skittles and tea. See ya." "Oh, umm, ok." How about that for a possibility? Or has all rationality and courtesy gone from the world? Oh, right. Never mind.

  26. What reason would Zimmerman have had to swing first? That make no sense. I have not seen anything that indicated Zimmerman started any physical confrontation.

  28. Well I am almost done. The cold blue is a rather thin finish but it will do for my purposes. Here is the stock I found for the rifle. Someone or several someones have held this rifle alot. Everywhere you would put your hands, the finish is rubbed off the stock. Idk whether to sand it and put a clear coat on, or just leave it.

  30. That war was settled before you were born. Colt doesn’t make revolvers anymore (other than some Cowboy guns). S&W owns the revolver market with Ruger a close 2nd. But new ones aren’t cheap and many used ones are priced at new prices. The most important thing for a new shooter is training and trigger time. Buy a gun you can afford and can afford to shoot it often. Just like all of us, as your economic conditions improve; so will your arsenal. Oh yeah, I forgot one thing…. Americans still make the best guns in the world, if you can afford it…. Support them.

  32. I quote "A private business should be able to create whatever rules it wants to govern use of its employee parking lot." Since when? Does that mean I can ban whatever race, religion, political persuasion, weight, height, gender I want to? OK, It's my parking lot. No unarmed libtard women can park here. You have to park on the street and walk. Glenn
