  4. Sorry, have to mention the law, as I consider "proper" synonymous with "statutorily compliant". Management feels strongly enough about the issue to have me charged with Class B misdemeanor, seems to me the least management could do is also obey the law. The short example sentence in the statute and/or a gunbuster sign is too complicated? - OS

  11. Yes I am if you're not a born or naturalized citizen of the U.S. You should not have full rights until you are a legal citizen, much less disrespect / decimate the symbol that millions gave their last measure for, not withstanding millions more maimed and dismembered for life. I certainly can see your point and the implications of such a proposal if enacted, however... Would you personally allow people like this in your home and/or associate with them? I consider the USA 8 generations of home and each generation of the family tree served in the military, to protect our way of life. Still in this day and age, my way of life isn't spitting in the face of Americans by desecrating the American flag, for which it stands. We're giving up freedoms now in the name of national security, and the majority of us on TGO are legal citizens. I'm more worried about maintaining the bill of rights for legal citizens than disrespectful aliens. We have enough legal citizens of low moral character as it is, we don't need to spread out the welcome wagon for more. Sorry about the rant but that's a touchy subject with me and how my brain reasons.

  12. I clean the BCG and receiver after every outing. I rarely clean the bore. The powder I use now is very clean and there's almost NO copper fouling...why bother? I've not cleaned the bore on my AR's in over 500 rounds. Can't see a difference in accuracy. I may never clean them [bore] again save for a patch on a jag once in a while. Most of guns I shoot cast in won't group well until they settle in so cleaning them is counter productive. There's more damage done by cleaning then you'll ever do by shooting. That "Marine Corps spotless bore" is a waste of time in the world I live in. YMMV.

  14. Then it just would have made fronrt page news and all cops would be called all sorts of names. Then a post would be made and all cops would be bad people that violate everyones civil rights.

  15. If I was a Judge and you came before me on the charge of carrying past a sign, I would ask you if you saw the sign and if you understood the intent of the sign. But we have an amazing amount of discussion about a charge that to the best of my knowledge has never been used. Unless something has been posted recently we haven’t seen any confirmable accounts of this happening. Usually the person is told to leave or they will be arrested for trespass.

  16. Here’s more information on what happened. There are links to several days there. http://www.lasvegass...s-inquest-day3/ Also…. There are recordings on that site of an unknown caller to 911, a store employee to 911, and the entire audio of the dispatch and the units responding. I couldn’t make out much of the 911 recordings they are really lousy audio, but the dispatch audio is clear. It’s a typical man with a gun call, no one seems real excited, the dispatcher is calm and tells the Officers no shots have been fired, she tells them the man was advised the store has a no guns policy and refused to leave. There just is nothing out of the ordinary there up to the point of an Officer calling “Shots Firedâ€. I have to assume his gun was still in the holster because the IWB clip holster came with the gun when he pulled it. There are plenty of witnesses that said he pulled the gun and pointed it at the cop. There is just nothing here to suggest that this was anything more than a MWAG high on drugs, refusing to leave the store, and either unable to understand and follow instructions, or he intentionally committed suicide. Would you wait to shoot if you had a man pull a gun on you while you had him a gun point?

  17. Let's please please please don't get into this specious argument again. It's just not true. There is most certainly a big difference in how city, county, state, and federal laws affect businesses open to the public compared to true private real property. You just can't equate the two types of "private property", not by a long shot. - OS

  18. Foul. You are violating rule #1. If we aren’t allowed to refer to the law; neither are you. Sorry, I didn’t make the rules. But it’s why you aren’t getting a lot of discussion.

  20. despicable! I for one would like to see the green card, visa and immigration laws amended to include immediate and permanent deportation for those that disrespect our national heritage and national symbols. You're a better person the me for holding your tongue. I would wonder what they might be doing to the food where the work based on their character and morals?

  22. Eh, I interpret improper postings to be either ignorance of the law or a way to appeal to the sheep while allowing HCP holders to carry concealed. I've seen a bunch of improper postings, but I've also seen postings with verbage indicating "no unlawful carrying of weapons" which I interpret to mean that only lawful carry is authorized. It would be nice if those businesses that are improperly posted had signs that read in such a manner, however, they probably don't put as much thought into it as you and I or see it as a big deal.

  23. We here at XYZPDQ are spinless ninnys and though we appretiate your business we would ask that you do not carry firearms in our establishment. We are sorry if this is an inconvenience for you, but we feel that our right to deny you of your rights is more important than your right to protect yourself. Again we apologize for being gutless hoplophobes.

  24. I'll have to agree with David here. There are places we want to go, places we need to go & places we have to go, posted or not. Some places we have the option of going else where. Hospitals for example we haven't much choice. A gun store, I have a choice, likely won't use that one, go elsewhere. Case by case basis.

  26. i think the reason some gunshops are posted is because some idiot comes in jercks out his pistol and say what kinda trade can i get.i have watched it happen more that once. now every one talks about legal postind if it aint legal i am carrying then the only way leagelay to keep loaded guns in holsters is to post .is that going to keep me from going in someplace no.i try to use good judgement in things like this i wouldnt give up my titans seats because i cant carry jusr my opinion everybody has one and i would like to think i can voice mine here

  27. I for one rarely go to gun shows so whether they are posted or not or allow HCP holders to carry or not is immaterial to me....I guess if I do go I know up front that I won't be carrying. My doctor's office isn't posted...hospitals are a different matter but many here have already said, and I agree, that there are occasions where exceptions have to be made, i.e. I'm not going to miss my niece's wedding just because I can't carry in the church she is getting married in and I'm not going to not visit my mother in the hospital just because it's posted, etc. But those instances aren't what most of us are talking about...what most of us are talking about are when we DO have a choice. As for "saving 20%" I'm sure some put a small savings ahead of their principles; I can't speak for them, I can only speak for me and I will NOT spend money in a store that doesn't support my right to provide for my own protection; period.
