  2. To make it more acceptable how about "Terrorist Eradication and Removal Device". That way we can tell the anti's all we want to do keep our TERD's. Tell them we like taking our TERDs places as well as cleaning and polishing our TERDs. And that there is nothing more fun that letting your friends hold your TERDs. Or that there is nothing better than showing your friends your collection of TERDs.   They will probably think we are nuttier than them and they will call for us to be a protected class.   Dolomite

  6. Americans like iPhones don't they?  Why does anyone need an iPhone?  Why isn't the two-piece brick cellular telephone from the 1980's still good enough for everyone?  It's called progress.  Technology.  Evolution.  Americans like the latest, the greatest, the best, the most functional.  Why would we be happy with a sub-par, antiquated relic?  Are we that way with any other thing that we own?  Our vehicles?  Our televisions?  Our computers?  Sure, there is always a small group of enthusiasts who like the older stuff for novelty or collecting purposes, but Americans tend to prefer the most advanced technology that has had all of the bugs worked out of it, and which works at its most optimal.  Same goes for our firearms.

  9. The Gov. tells us what kind of lightbulbs we can buy, what kind of toilet we can buy, and is working on what size soft drink we can buy. Any one that thinks they won't tell us  what kind of guns we can have has their head in the sand.

  10. Sure fire way to hide from the fuzz....stop breaking the gotdang law. I guarantee my method for ducking speeding tickets works. No cop can catch me. I DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT. They can't get me for DUI either. I drink at home, alone. It's funny how cops ignore you and leave you alone when you obey the law.

  11. Well, after asking what you bought lately, I decided to call Nashville Armory about the waiting list for the Shield. Miss Morgan picked up and I told her why I was calling. She said wait a minute, she would try to find out for me. And all done very plesantly I might add, because I could hear the mob in the background. After a few minutes wait, Andrew informed me I was next in line. I thanked him and said that was great. Figured I would see one in early Janusary. That was on Wednesday. On Thursday night, Andrew calls and says I have a Shield waiting for me. Joy!! Joy!! Since I really didn't feel that good; suffering with a sinusitis bout. I asked if I could pick it up Friday. Sure, he says. So Friday afternoon I'm standing in the same mob again that I heard over the phone, waiting patiently to get to a csa. It did take a while, probably 45 minutes. but I passed the time listening to the guys explain gun stuff to what appeared to be many first time buyers. One gentleman wanted to trade in his PM9 on something "bigger." Didn't get all the details because about that time I got picked out of the throng. My apologies to the young man, I'm sure I'm messing up on his name. I think it was something like Kanan? Keirnan? Anyway he goes and get the Shield 9 and I look it over. I'm completely satisfied with it. Say I have but one question...how much is it now? I'm sure it's gone up since their opening. No he says. Same price as then. Whatt?? Couldn't believe it. Not taking advantage of a hard to get item? No premium for it? And get this. Actually had a couple of mags for it. Amazing. I've been watching sites looking for mags. Just 'cause I hate only having 1 or 2 for something. Nobody has any of them. Trying not to be greedy, I only took one off the wall. Left some for the next lucky guy. Besides 3 should be enough for me. Surely. One in the pistol and 2 backups for a small cc 9. I can live with that till mags are more readily available. Anyway, fill out the form, call in, and wait for about 20 minutes for confirmation. Luckily, the good people in the check room still like me, so I walked out very happy. Very Happy. Shield 9 with 2 mags, one extra mag, tax and tic...533. Best price I'd found on the auction sites started there, plus shipping. So yes, I'm very satisfied with the experience there. My thanks to Andrew and all the staff I've met. Will heartily recommend The Nashville Armory to anyone. On...and the little Shield, no didn't fire it then. Way too big a crowd to wait. I'll get around to it after the holidays. No, I'm not crazy, I've shot one before and totally in love with it. After a few hundred rounds to get settled in, it will, I think, become my primary carry. Even looks like it will replace my PPS9. Not really any size difference in them to speak of. In fact the Shield is a hair bigger. But it fits me better, feels better, and the recoil impulse is much more comfortable than shooting the PPS. Oh, there was one downside. My wife didn't think it was very "attractive." Go figure that one. Yeah, I know...no pics, so it didn't really happen. But no gear to post with. Don't own a smart phone. Just an old dinosaur using an old flip style.

  17. The problem if or when something like this comes down is gun owners are going to be our own worst enemy. The majority are going to do exactly what the government wants without a question for fear of loosing more than their guns. Then those that didn't do what the government wants are going to be turned in by those that already have out of spite. We have already seen it with some hunters stepping back from those of us who own semiautos. I have heard it from different hunters as well as a dealer or two that a bolt action is all a person needs.   There are ~300 million guns in the US and if 1/10th of those owners refused they would still be 10x the size of all the military component, active and reserve, of the US. And another thought is this there is no way the government could house and provide for 30 million "criminals".   And for those who think it is not possible look at the Afghans in the 80's. They used pitchforks, flintlocks and Lee enfield rifles to defeat one of the super powers. But the only way people are going to stand up is if they think they are going to win.   Dolomite

  18. I think it would be more correct to say that "driving" a motor vehicle is a privilege; I don't believe that using the roadway is a privilege.   We may not have the right to drive but I think it can be argued that we do have the right to travel freely and without undue restrictions from one place to another and since roads are (almost always) paid for by taxes I think the government would have a difficult time saying you can't use them at all. ;)
    2 points
  19.   They would probably think their are consequences for breaking the law.   Don't want to be arrested and have your blood drawn then don't break the law. Driving on public roadways is not a right it is a priviledge. And that priviledge can be taken away.   Dolomite

  20. Unfortunately, if someone tried to "shoot any man who take their guns away".... that would be all our government needs to invoke even more draconian anti-gun, anti-self defense controls.   Just one or two of those shootings, and the public would support such additional regulations, too!   I fear that our nation is populated by a totally new demographic.... dependent upon government and happy with that.

  22. Now if we could combine this with what Billy Graham would tell Americans, then the problems would be illuminated.   It's a spiritual and moral compass problem, with implication/indictment of individual values in morality, ethics, character, honor, and sanctity of life and many others.   Its a "heart issue", not guns, health, safety, etc.

He is always fair, and goes way above and beyond to be of help to his customers.  Who else will offer to stop and pick up a 1 lb can of powder in Clarksville and drop it off in Jackson as a service to someone who he has never met, or made a dime off of before?   God grant me more Davids!   I did ask him for an 8 lb jug of W 748 on his next trip through town.   Let a buddy have 3-30 round Magpuls, he is just finishing his first build.  Told him he could replace then when things settle down, or for what I paid for them if we can't get any more, I had a few extra.

  38.   I wasn't saying there would be "forces" coming to every door. I do not believe anyone would go door to door, block to block and searching residences. I was saying that one gun owner would turn on another and LE would secure a search warrant. And if a search warrant was issued, based on the word of another, for possession of a banned firearm LE would serve that warrant and make the arrest. It would be silly to think that LE would not execute a search warrant that was legally obtained. That is what I was talking about. And we, as in gun owners, do it to ourselves now. We hear some of the hunting crowd saying there is no need for AR's or AK's.    As far as the Afghans go I have spoke to a lot of the Muj and in the begining they fought and were successful with very rudimentary weapons. Heck I was speaking to a gov't type that was over there in the begining and he said the Afghans were shooting each other with AK's because they had no clue how they operated. The Muj said one of their best tactics was to hang lanterns around the necks of sheep and goats in the middle of the night. And as the goats roamed it would appear to be a large force to the Soviets. And when the Soviets became distracted with those moving lights the Afghans would flank them. They said they used that tactic a lot in the begining and it was very successful. Yes we did back them but not before the invasion. For years they fought with no help.   Dolomite

  42. I don't know if Al wrote it but the credit is given to Richard A. Serrano, Alana Semuels and Tina Susman of the L.A. Times. I did go back and read the article again and noticed something else. The article was posted on the 14th and in the third paragraph, under the Ads by Google, it says the shooter was carrying two semiautomatic pistols. I remember the first report I heard was on the radio, station WTN, and the report was that the shooter was carrying two semiautomatic pistols and named them as a Glock and a Sig Sauer. No mention of a rifle. Do we have a Bureau of Confusion in this country?

  44. The govts garden is the Internet. I as well as all of you are guilty of feeding leviathan data. Look no further than every post you make. However, learn your protections under the bill of rights while we still have them. Speak out against tyranny. It is sad. It is truly sad how ill informed, stupid, apathetic, lazy and dependent the majority of the sheeple are. Very few are familiar with the bill of rights. Some that are do not care. Some that are that we're educated in socialist, income redistribution, indoctrination camps that were graciously educated and fed at taxpayers expense call you the enemy. Amerika is growing weaker. Ignorant. Entitled. Pacified. Stupid. It is really pathetic.

  47. I had an officer at my house yesterday and gun confiscation was brought up by him. He said he would not do it and would quit before he was a party to it. He went on to say he would do everything in his power to prevent it from happening to anyone else. He said he would fight if need be. We live on a dead end road and he mentioned blocking the road to protect ourselves if need be regardless of who it is. We spent another 15-20 minutes discussing contingency plans if the world came to an end. I will add this. I took an oath, several actually, and I do not believe it expires. I have never taken another that supersedes the one I took. Dolomite
