  1. I have a Judge that I find to be rather useless. I have never had a good reason to shoot a snake, but I have a rat problem in an outbuilding (all the more reason not to shoot snakes). I've killed a bunch of rats with the Judge, but it has an effective range on rats of about 4 feet using .410. make sure your are wearing eye protection at those distances, I caught some shot ricocheting to my face last week. I find the grouping using the 45LC out of the Judge to be less than impressive.

  2. I'd just look at what you already have. Basically, you want a gun that is easy to carry, won't get in the way of doing chores and is adequate to deal with any perceived situation. I feel that just about any medium frame pistol/revolver in a reasonable self defense caliber carried in a proper holster would be just about right. My personal favorite camping/hiking/woods gun is this 3" S&W Model 60-4 Chief's Special Target. Just a little 5 shot J-frame .38 Special. But can be carried completely un-noticed unless needed. I think people tend to worry a lot more about snakes than they need to. A snake is very rarely a threat to a human. Most are extremely beneficial to have around. I prefer to simply leave them alone.

  4. I’m an 870 armorer if I can help with anything. There are some concerns with thin barrel when you chop one, and because of timing concerns it’s not practical to do a barrel swap. I don’t know that I would ever bother to chop an old 870. I would buy a $500 Tac 14 as a base for your SBS.

  5. SOLD! Got a staccato c2 looking for a new home, it’s got maybe 150 rounds sent through it. It’s time for projects to be else where. First person with 1800$ takes it home or a trade in that value. Brand new which it basically is, is 200-300$ more so don’t let this pass text me 305 878 0350 SOLD!

  6. MTSA will host a 2 gun match on April 30 2022. Divisions are Iron sight only and Optics. Classes are Pistol/Rifle, Pistol/PCC or PCC/Rifle. 2 guns are required for each stage. This will be a time plus event. Looking at 200 plus rounds. 5 stages, no long range. https://practiscore.com/mtsa-2-gun-match/register

  8. Supported anti-gun bills in Illinois to save their own necks. They’re dead to me as a customer.

  9. I think iether option is great. I like gen 3's myself over gen 4's but that is merely personal preference. Don't stress over night sights. In my experience the tritium will be faded beyond use on all surplus trade-ins (10 year life). Glock factory tritium sights are cheap, less than $100 for various options and instock many places. This is the bennefit of the proliferation of Glock pistols. Aftermarket support in parts, accesories, magazines, supplies, Glock trained armorers are plentiful. I keep a gen 3 17 on the nightstand. I have owned it for many years. Only thing I have ever done is replace the tritium when mine faded and ghost 3.5 trigger bar with rounded plunger. I clean it when needed and it has never once failed me. Ammo being what is for everyone, reloading is definately your solution. Oh, I wanted to add, both pictured are Austrian guns. This is important as Austrian made Glocks have a more resiliant finish than the US made Glocks, This is due to the Tenifer process in the US is not allowed due to EPA reasons but they can still do the original formula in Europe. If you browse pawn shops for used Glocks, you will notice all the ones with the finish worn off (not removed) are US made Glocks. The Austrian ones, even going back to Gen 1, are still likely to have most of the finish left. Make sure when you order that you are getting an Austrian one.

  11. Hey folks. If you like to have some variety in your life or prefer a Light or a Dark color scheme in particular, you can change the way TGO looks by scrolling way down to the bottom of the page and looking for the "Theme" link. Once there, you can choose between a few different options. Click Theme (1st) and then click whichever color scheme you prefer (2nd), just like this picture shows.

  12. Yep - I was waiting for it. My wife has a Judge - why? Cause she wants it. Who cares if it's accurate or not, it's what she wanted.
