There are some things that a carp will not eat.

I've always liked guns but never felt a need to compulsively buy them. Guns themselves may be an addiction, heck I would even call it a lifestyle, but I've always been content with what I had and welcomed a new gun into the fold when the right deal came along. Always wanted a 1911, and I waited for years until a really good deal on a Kimber came my way. Most guns that I have came to me in a similar fashion. At times in life when I had excess money I certainly bought more guns. These days with a 4 year old, a wife in college, and a mortgage the purchase of fun things is but a distant memory and something to aspire to again.

You would be crazy to not spend the extra little bit of money and get a 642. I'm sure every now and then Taurus makes a good gun that works right, I've handled the TCP and I will agree that it is impressive. BUT... how many threads on this board can you find where someone has had an issue with their Taurus? A lot more than you can find where someone has had a problem with their 642.

I have Comcast and I have cable simply because there is no discount for not having cable. That said I watch the majority of TV via streaming. I personally use Chromecast only because I had one given to me. I've used Roku before and I like them. The Chromecast seems finicky in regards to actually working. I had to update the firmware of my router to get it to work, and I usually have to reset the router to get it to work, but not more than once per day. As previously mentioned the Chromecast does not have a remote but must be operated from a computer, smartphone, or tablet. This doesn't seem to be much of an issue as my computer is right next to me when I am watching TV, or you can use a device such as an old smartphone that you no longer otherwise use as a dedicated remote. But for $35 it's hard to beat. I've been a Netflix subscriber for years but they are getting the axe. The last 5 movies I've tried to watch have not been available to stream. Basically they don't have jack for movies. I did just purchase an Amazon Prime membership so I can still steam stuff, even though the Prime selection is lacking as well. At least with Prime I get free 2 day shipping on Amazon purchases (So long as the seller does not opt out) and my wife gets a free rental book on her Kindle each month. EDIT: Chromecast will not work with Amazon Prime, I know that Roku will, I may be picking up a Roku now.

I think we need to get several TGO'ers to contact her with extremely low ball offers all telling her that it isn't worth near what she is asking. Then of course one of us buys it for peanuts and sells it back to Mark.

I drive sober and wear my seatbelt, leaving a 0% chance that I will die in a car crash.

I've had inside jobs, I've had outside jobs. I prefer the outside jobs. Even days like today where it ranged between 27 and 45 degrees with the right equipment it's comfortable, I still hate snow.

I got one when I lived there a few years ago. Eventually if you live there you learn where they all are and as long as you stay on your toes it's not a problem. I didn't have a problem with getting a ticket for breaking the speed limit. What I had a problem with was that there was no avenue in which to contest a ticket. IIRC the fine is $50 and you can not get a trial for an offense of $50 or less. Basically if you felt that you were given a ticket unjustly there was no way to contest it. Personally I'm glad to see the revenue cameras get the axe, if you thought that these had anything to do with safety you are an idiot.

I ride sportbikes, dirtbikes, motards, and touring bikes. I honestly do not carry on the sportbike and motard most of the time due to lack of a place to put the gun. I will not carry on my person while riding these bikes, honestly because I'm often riding aggressively and don't want to fall on the gun if I go down. (I once broke 3 ribs because I had a dip can in my breast pocket when I went down, so I am very wary about keeping anything remotely hard on my person.) I always carry on the touring bike but not necessarily in a location that is easily accessible. I'm not as concerned about being able to rip off a few rounds while I'm moving as I am having a gun if I have to make a stop in a bad area or if I break down and have to hoof it somewhere, or get a ride from an ill intentioned stranger. Your throttle should be able to get you out of any situation that would otherwise require firing, and you will be better off for it. As far as how to carry. My touring suit has a nice external weatherproof breast pocket that fits my Glock 27 nicely. Again I can't really access it with gloves on going down the road but it's there. I have carried OWB when not wearing my touring suit or just running errands on one of the other bikes. Never tried it but I know a couple of guys that use shoulder rigs under leathers. I've also used a IWB clipped inside my Under Armour bottoms with a 642 in it. I know a guy that carries a LCP clipped in a Serpa, I believe, to the top of his motorcycle boot, carries it open but it is very hard to see unless you are looking for it. Again I believe that most of the time that you would need a gun while on a bike would be at a stop or if you had to walk. I stay out of cities for the most part as well though.

Good advice here, I'll offer a bit more. Don't use sleeve anchors. I didn't think anything about it and picked some up the last time I anchored my safe. Once you install them you have to pick the safe straight up o clear them. I only got one in before I realized I screwed up and it wasn't a big deal. Drop in anchors will allow you to simply remove the bolts from the inside of the safe and then move the safe. Just as secure but will make moving much easier if desired in the future.

I enjoy playing poker for .22 ammunition instead of money. Bring a few bricks over and I'll be glad to teach you how to play.

I used to think that I wanted a double stacked Para. Went to a LGS to try one out and the sales man put one in my hand, then put a 1911 in my hand. Never wanted a double stack again. Killer deal here!

I see this a lot as well. What gets me is when they post something to the effect of "If you don't like my price then don't comment" especially when it is something stupid. I'm glad we have so many Facebookphobes on TGO, makes it easier to get the good deals.

I hate it with a passion because I have to work in it. I promise you will never hear me complaining in the summer no matter how hot it gets, but I despise cold weather.

Glad I'm not the only person that feels like they are treated like some kind of off their meds extremist for having this view. Guys like this FUDD are a gun owners worst enemy. Regardless of what this guy thinks he does not represent me, he is not on my side. He's nothing but an anti wearing camo and spouting an anti message.

Personally I would be hesitant to walk around Shelby Park with bow in hand, yet I know of no statute that would prohibit you from doing so. I could see a possible case of public endangerment though. Wrong person and/or cop at the wrong time could make you have a bad day.

Centennial Park Lake has a bunch of carp doesn't it?(JK) Do you have boat access or are you wanting to shoot from the bank? Tons of good places on Old Hickory if you have boat access, just get as far back in the coves as you can. If you are shooting from the bank, I haven't been in years but Cordell Hull was my favorite place, Defeated Creek specifically. The entrance to the park area off of the highway was good. If you can sneak into the camp ground you can walk the bank around the entire campground, that lake is full of carp.

I call him Glock Man. I don't really remember how Glock Man came about. I do remember that I was fiddling with a Glock one evening, probably cleaning it, somehow I thought that if I had another I could disassemble it too and make a robotic looking figure out of the parts. I grabbed another Glock, striped it down and sure enough, everything but the head. What better to use on a Glock Man, assembled from a 23 and a 27 than some .40 ammo in the shape of the Glock "G" with a little twist for the eyes and it was perfect for a Pacmanesque face. I took a quick picture with my tablet and later thought that it would be a good avatar for a gun forum.

I don't smoke and have no interest in vaping but I know a few people who are vaping the nicotine free vapors who have never smoked before. With that set up it would be like putting a special tax on a candy bar or cold drink.

Somebody call up the folks over at Sam Adams, I can't think of a better event to have a lesbian, gay and transgendered parade march right through the middle of.

Of all the businesses out there I think the one that most of us hate the most is pretty good at not taking a stance, and that is Wal-mart.

Clean that carb if you even think that it is a possibility that it is gummed up. That is a very easy carb to clean. I've had trouble with a couple of small engines this year and draining the gas and/or cleaning the carb got them running like champs. This ethanol fuel just will not sit for any length of time at all without gumming up.

Agreed I've had a truck since I've had a drivers license, with the exception of about the past two years. See, my truck broke down and I was without a truck for those two years. A person may be able to get by without a truck if they've never had one but once you have had one it's much harder to not have one, I hated it. Funny how the people that say things like "Oh, you don't really need a truck" are always the first to call someone with a truck when they need something moved or hauled. Used to not be a big deal but the last couple of times I've done a favor I haven't even been offered gas money. That sucks after you burn $40 worth of gas running around town doing someone a favor because they don't want t buy their own truck. I'm not bitter though...

I've carried in that particular location a number of times, you are good to pack and go.

Studies show that people who are afraid to use Facebook are sexually immature and often carry large guns to counteract their inadequacies, I read that on the internet
