  1. So now that you have the form....are you taking orders. LOL
  2. What a thread resurrection!
  3. If you had ever sold Kirby vacuum cleaners door-to-door, you might think differently. Though, I understand because my current position is a dead end on promotions and I am not where I should be on pay. I understand people being afraid of change and the unknown when they have a job already. I have been caught up in 2 lay-offs and a business closure in my work history. I worry if I jump to an unknown job, that it might not be as rosy as they sell it to be or they might close up shop 6 months later. With a family and mortgage, that would be rough. If it were just me, I can live in my car and be just fine. The family, not so much. I do keep my eyes peeled though awaiting that dream job to come along.
  4. You just admitted you work for Remington because you are too far away for all of us to start showing up at your house and being your best friend. Jokes on you....I am going to be in Huntsville in a couple weeks.
  5. Looks like a railroad caboose stuck on top of a tractor with a big gun and metal windshield added
  6. Yeah, but most of us still can't make knives as pretty as yours. Lol
  7. Well that leaves me out. I used to drive to Jackson and happen to know it is a push to get there in 7.5 hours from my house. Though I made it back in 6.5 once when my wife was hit by a car. The trooper in Knoxville did not even flip on his lights when I passed him doing 99 in a 55. 8 guess he knew I had my reasons.
  8. Sounds like you are keeping your fishing hole secret. Lol great score.
  9. How you just need a double shoulder holster to carry them both.
  10. Sounds like you just found a good job and stuck with it....and/or all of us just talk too much.
  11. A co-worker's daughter just accepted a job teaching at a middle school that is about an hour from home. Since the best way to get there is all windy back road, he wants to get her a pistol. She has a CCW permit, but just got it with his gun. What are the current standing on guns left in faculty cars on school grounds? What about concealed carry out of the car? Thanks guys.
  12. Man, that looks like it was a sweet time.
  13. I grew up in Sevierville and went to college close to home (not UT). Graduated about 2 decades ago with a business degree but had already sunk deep into IT stuff ( we just called it computers). I have worked a lot of different jobs over the years due to layoffs and business closings. I have been a mortgage loan processor, sold Kirby vaccums, worked retail in Pigeon Forge, done landscape work, trained cashiers, installed school lunchroom cash register systems, installed Gas & Go kiosk systems, and generally whatever it took to pay the bills. I now do IT for a construction company where I am the whole IT department. I support around 75 users in the office and field. I handle the servers, PCs, printers, cellphones, tablets, wireless air cards, accounting systems, and ordering all the supplies for the IT equipment. The company ensures they get their money's worth from me every day. I grew up hunting, but got away from guns while I was trying to work and go to college. Then my jobs kept me busy enough that there was not as lot if "hobby time" with all the travel I did. Plus money was a issue as I got married and started to try get a house and such. I got back into it a few years ago and have been playing at it. I enjoy shooting, but have had to learn/relearn a lot.
  14. Just drive by with a gas blower hanging out the door. Lol
  15. Remember sanity is relative. Lol As stupid as it sounds, waste some time on some games on a phone or tablet for a few minutes. There are lots of types from stupid to totally educational. If you like nature, buy a bird book and start checking off ones you can identify. That will at least get you outside and give the wife breathing room. Just stick to the shade. I spent 6 weeks down for surgery back in my 20's when we did not even have a 4th tv channel. I read a lot and stared at the walls. Never a fun time. Hope you are back to 100% soon.
  16. Thanks. Not terrible, but still 4 hours drive for me. I may have to look at it if I am in Chattanooga sometime.
  17. You should probably get legal advise from a real legal professional on this. There are several ways "dismissed" could be taken. As I read from my non-expert, no warranty offered position, if you were not "convicted" then you would be ok. As long as there is nothing else pending or on your record to preclude firearm ownership.
  18. I never said I would make it in anything less that 4 days. Too much fast food over years of traveling and a desk job have put me far from a hiking body type. I still enjoy getting out there though.
  19. Our "yard" was so steep as a kid that Dad mowed with a pushmower hooked to a rope. So I have the "get it done" attitude. As long as my wife thinks it is good enough, then I don't argue. I have too much to do to worry about something that will be just as high next week. Grass is just grass. If I could I would just let it all grow up.
  20. Boats have been thought of and are a good idea, but unless the river or lake is really big then people can still see you and a good .308 would wreck havoc. Now on the ocean is nicer, but water become a HUGE issue since you can't drink it. The biggest worry I would have for a boat is mechanical issues shutting you down. Fuel would also need to be a concern at some point. I don't want to be adrift with no power to move about. Zombie swimming depends on the "universe" you are in. In the World War Z book, the walk on the bottom or float, but sometimes get lucky and climb up anchor chains into boats. One internal concern that was an issue at the Prison in TWD is that people need to be segregated physically so that if someone dies, they do not re-animate and kill others who them re-animate, etc. It also would assist in keeping down illness if you could keep people separate if there was a need. Hygiene is going to be pretty bad, so illness is going to happen. There are very few setups, that we could not find a way to breach given an unlimited supply of men and weapons. If I raided an air base, a few pieces of rigged up air ordnance would wipe out most any place the could be built int he apocalypse. The idea would be to be able to hold out and and do away with realistic live threats while keeping the zombies well at bay.
  21. As you said, if you make a good location, people will come and try to take it. On the other side, living day to day with no protection is a recipe to be zombie chow. One idea that came up reading your post is that a large warehouse might be nice. Ans I know the perimeter would be difficult to defend, but the plan would be to build the levels of fortification INSIDE. That way it is less likely to be noticed, but still protected. Maybe a armored up conex as the central "keep". Still would nto deal with a tank, but hopefully tanks woudl be in short supply.
  22. I did not find any deals that even appealed to me. Seemed like too much hype for so little.
  23. Specifically handguns, but probably stricter than the rifle law. Not sure if you are a "licensee" or jyst private seller. https://www.atf.gov/firearms/qa/may-licensee-employ-individual-who-less-21-years-age-if-licensee-sells-handguns-and "May a licensee employ an individual who is less than 21 years of age if the licensee sells handguns and ammunition suitable for use in handguns? Yes. An individual less than 21 years of age may sell handguns and ammunition suitable for use in handguns. However, a person less than 18 years of age must have the prior written consent of a parent or guardian and the written consent must be in the person’s possession at all times. Also, the parent or guardian giving the written consent may not be prohibited by law from possessing a firearm. Moreover, State law must not prohibit a person less than 18 years of age from possessing the handguns or ammunition. [18 U.S.C. 922(x)] Last Reviewed September 23, 2016"
  24. Dang it, now I want to go hike it myself and I don't even know where it is. lol
  25. Hasn't anyone ever watched Red Dawn?
