I got a WSM a couple years ago and it's very close to "set and forget". I can load it with charcoal, tweak the vents for my target temp based on the ambient temp, and it'll sit there for 8-10 hrs with minimal adjustment. It's a lot lower maintenance than what I had before.

That's not too much of a stretch. Between the transmission and differential you get 15-20:1 torque multiplication in a normal truck. So 11,000 ftlbs at the tires equates to 550ftlbs at the crank.

I'll be the contrairian here... babysitting the smoker is the best part. It's an excuse to be occupied all day while actually doing very little. I get to stand around with a cold beverage while fiddling with fire, what's not to like? The electric ones are so easy they're basically just a glorified crock pot. There's no sense of accomplishment. You don't get to come back in the house hours later, dirty with charcoal dust, smelling of smoke, giving the appearance of having worked hard all day to provide such a delectable bounty for your family.

One of each, two of many, three of some....

I built tons of models when I was a kid, mostly airplanes. They were all hanging from my ceiling with fishing line. I wasn't super good at it, but a good friend I met in college built museum quality models. Air brushed mud splatters, diorama displays, the whole bit. The tricks I learned from him were what folks have already said about sanding, painting, filling, etc.

General question for you.... Is there any feedback loop for questions a jury (or juror) has? Can they tell the judge or attorneys that a topic hasn't been addressed to their satisfaction and request more information?

I have a black hat like that. I bought it while on a school trip to Australia in 1990.

Does this happen regularly? Seems like I remember you saying before. She might have some sort of allergy to something in the shot if they continually give her symptoms. I assume her doctor is aware?

I was looking for something like a felt hat but ended up with a cotton version. I call it my dorky old man hat, but I like it. The lack of vents make it too hot for summer but it's great this time of year. https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/redhead-tarp-cloth-hat-for-men

Any thoughts on this one? I like the dual fuel option and it gets good reviews... https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/sportsman-2-200-watts-dual-fuel-inverter-generator-gen2200dfi -
Got a chronograph? I'm curious if there's significant difference in velocity. It's possible that bullet isn't stable at that speed.

.40 Percussion Kentucky Rifle Advice
peejman replied to DesertRanger's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
You might be able to bore the barrel out to a larger caliber. That's a pretty normal thing to do with these because of the corrosion issues. They start out small and get bored out to .45, .50, ... on up to .69 before you can't go any bigger. It's usually the same barrel blank so a larger caliber a lighter rifle. -
It should be on a photocell, like most headlights. I think it's both the brightness and relatively instant on/off that makes them so hard to look at compared to incandescents. It's especially bad when there's several emergency vehicles in one spot. Glad that cop above got hit from behind. I would never stop on interstate shoulder if I could help it. Just go to the next exit, it's safer for everyone.

Two year old shoots herself with unsecured handgun.

Clearly a lot more likely than many people think. Little kids have strong hands. They're typically very good at pulling levers ans pushing buttons. -
I would call his local PD and see what action they recommend.

We've heard that story before.

Mechanical engineer for the last 20 years or so. Designed car parts for a while, then industrial products, now overhauling jet engines. Time will tell what comes next.

Holey smokes that's a big dog!

I've never been a big fan of Rottweilers, there's lots of other larger dog options that'll be way easier to manage than a Mal. I also don't think it would be a good mix with your smaller dogs. They might be thought of as snacks. We have a lab mix and he's a pretty good dog. We got him from friends who's dog had puppies unexpectedly. He follows our boys around everywhere and barks ferociously at strangers while running the other way. Once introduced, he'll lean so hard he'll push you over and perhaps pee on your shoes if he gets real excited.

I know a few Knoxville area reenactor guys who are big into these things. I'll see if I can find some info. -
Malagators need a job and plenty of exercise. You don't want the dog to get bored. They can be great companions but they need training. If you want a dog to hang out with and bark at strangers, a mutt from the shelter will do that fine. A friend trains them for various things.... http://fdk9tn.com/

Happy to see the Braves make it back to the WS. I just wish MLB had any interest in the next generation of fans. 8pm games mean most kids won't see past the 2nd inning. I rarely make it past the 3rd or 4th. 5:30am comes early.
