  1. I'll agree on the Henrys', but the 1911s are not for me. Only one I ever shot was in Infantry training. Didn't like it. Lots of folks do tho. Different strokes for different folks, LOL. I'll stick with my Walther...
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if they did at some point. They keep coming out with new configurations all the time. They even have side gates now, which was a surprise. The side gate version still has the tubular mag also, so you can go at it either way.
  3. Looks like I've got some catching up to do, LOL.
  4. Took delivery of my first Henry rifle today. Had this on my bucket list for awhile. Model H010, cal. 45/70, 19.3" bbl. Be glad when this crazy weather clears, so & can go shooting. Comes with open sights; brass bead front, semi-buckhorn rear, adjustable for windage & elevation.
  5. I've had both. My first Walther was a P99, really good gun, made a mental error & traded for a Glock. Also, recently had a PPQ M1, 40 S&W. Excellent trigger, great gun. Also, have owned PPS M2 & PPS M2 RSMc. To answer your question, my experience, the PPQ is the better of the two. As I said the trigger is second to none, the grip is better. The reason I got rid of my PPQ, was I no longer need that large of a gun & traded it for a S&W light weight for the missus. Different strokes for different folks, but that would clearly be my choice. Good luck, you won't be in the hole either way........
  6. Just heard on the Ch. 17 news that the death toll overall, is now up to 19, several missing.
  7. Anytime from the 1700's on up, until the Liberals started getting their agenda cranked up. "fine" is in the dictionary. If you want to water down the 2A to your ideal, get Congress to pass it, get the States to ratify it, & you're in business. Vote Bloomberg or any of the other ultra Libs in, & they will certainly give it their best shot.
  8. I'm not comfortable with any admin. telling folks what they can or cannot do & when & where. Waaay too much Gvnt. interference in peoples lives. Amazing how we got along fine without it, in times long past.
  9. Doug, I see what you're saying, but you either agree with the 2A or you don't. The 2a doesn't mention age, permits, or background checks. Everybody will have an opinion on this, & they will vary all over the map. That's fine, they are entitled to it. Personally, I'll stick with the 2A as is. Works for me. A permit is a tax. JMHO
  10. I heard & saw the Gov. speak this from his own mouth. I applaud him for doing so. How this will play out in the Legislature ( amend the crap out of it ), remains to be seen. One Dem. has already spoke against it, so...........
  11. On my bucket list ( soon ), is a Henry model H010 carbine in 45/70. Like cch2a, it's more of a want to, than need to. Well, you all know how that is, LOL
  12. My Walther PPS M2 w/ RSMc 9mm
  13. Aww, come on Greg, add a little excitement to you life, LOL
  14. That was the carry ammo we used @ Trousdale Co. Sheriffs Dept. when I was there. I still carry it in my PDW. Good stuff.
  15. Wear it on your person like you normally do. I can see many things going bad on the back of a church pew, or in a book, etc. You lose a degree of control there. JMHO
  16. I suppose this would apply to his armed body guards as well..........
  17. This is a bit late in the thread, but thought i"d add this, FWIW. I have ordered seedlings of Shellbark hickory, the large nut variety, ( small saplings about 1/8" dia. shank, from the Tenn. Forestry Service in East TN. Had to order 25 ( minimum order ), $40. I'm having them shipped FedEx to be delivered in March. I'm not starting a tree farm, so there will be several left over, depending on how this goes, LOL. If anyone ( Greg, thought of you ), wants any, let me know. These will be free to my TGO buds, out of the goodness of my heart, LOL. I know most don't believe I have that organ. My ex said I was the only living heart donor she ever saw. I only plan on planting maybe 2 or 3 in my back yard.
  18. USPS is notorious for circling the globe before it hits your box. I had one that kept leaving Denver, going back over & over. They couldn't give an explanation. Go figure.....
  19. Well, folks, despite the old school thinking, and just plain apprehension, red dots are making their way into the gun market, pistol, rifle, shotgun. I have a Shield RSMC 4 moa on my Walther PPS M2 9mm, that I carry everyday. Works good, no complaints. On my bucket list for this yr., sometime ( money ), is a Henry lever action 45/70 carbine. This thing is a beast on both ends. I plan on using either a red dot or holograph on it. Reviews & first hand experience from those that have one are pleased. These are especially helpful with old eyes like mine, so go for it. JMHO
  20. I go thru spots on different highways that put off a radar signal on my detector, out in the middle of nowhere sometimes, no one around, no place to hide. Alarm system, maybe, no idea, just happens. I ignore it.
  21. That's one of the privileges of old age.
  22. I'd suggest just check with your local dump. Some will take them, some won't. Our local dump takes them, just dump 'em in the big dumpster for things of that sort.
  23. I forgot to add, in my previous post, I didn't see any rules posted, but wasn't really looking for that. My "guess" is none.
  24. There were a few standing around with guns, don't know if they were selling/buying or not. It was so crowded, I spent much of my focus just making it thru the aisles.
