It does.  I imagine by the end of the day there will be no one left alive in the State of Tennessee. Gonna be the Wild West don’t ya know.  The “news” and hand-wringers said so.

Yeah well. Most of the street killin' is going on in Downtown Woketopia, where guns ain't allowed.

I’m not encouraging anyone to violate any laws or the the wishes of any private entity, but concealed means concealed y’all.

All fine and dandy if you're trying not to get busted, but irrelevant if you are in the "THEY AIN'T GETTING MY MONEY" crowd.

I’m in the “I’m just keeping my head down and hoping not to get noticed by anyone doing anything at all” crowd. That honestly doesn’t even have anything to do with guns.

I’m completely terrible at it. Especially with my love of short shorts in RBS, but damn it, I can still dream

Yep, in Florida all carry is concealed carry and I found myself in a couple of places where weapons were not allowed. I had something else on my mind and just walked right in. When I finally realized I was carrying I just stayed in line. As noted above, concealed means concealed.

One of the nice things about the FL gun laws (there's still plenty not to like) is that signs have no force of law.  A business can have all the signs posted that they choose.  So long as it is not one of the few prohibited locations, regardless of any posted sign, the person found to have the concealed handgun must be told to leave.

On the other hand, not a chance you'll be legally open carrying in public in Florida unless engaged in fishing, hunting, camping, at a gun range or going directly to/from one of those activities.

I never open carry, so that wouldn't bother me a bit.

It's not officially the holiday weekend yet but I am predicting at least 1 incident in east tn linked directly back to it involving the following

side by side
drinking
good ol boy event
jeans tucked into boots
trucker hat
open carrying a weapon half the size of the wearer
food truck or concession trailer

That is an interesting article as I was under the impression it was no big deal if your weapon was inadvertently exposed. I was a member of Florida Carry as well. After 22 years of carrying in Florida I did not worry if my weapon printed or not. No one ever pointed out I was printing or if my weapon accidentally was exposed. I guess it depends on where in Florida you live. I don't open carry here in TN but I don't carry IWB anymore either. After being here over two years I have seen maybe five people openly carrying their weapon. I do like the idea I can open carry but I am too old to fight if some punk tries to take my weapon. Plus I like the idea of surprise being on my side.

Virginia has had open carry without a permit for a long time.  I have not seen an abundance of businesses posted in my travels in the state.  I also do not see many people open carrying there either.  Sometimes I think we over think things. My guess is there will be very little noticeable difference after the new law takes affect.

I just heard that the Knox County Sheriff’s dept. will start having a free class the last Saturday of every month to help people understand what exactly permitless carry means.  More details to be released next week.

That is the kind of service more LE agencies should start providing as the misunderstanding about what this all means is astounding.

Shelby County started offering free handgun safety (non-shooting) classes back in May.

Although I think the law will be barely noticeable, I could see it causing headaches for LEOs who routinely deal with the most thuggish among us.

I had a boss who carried everywhere, including military bases. He always said, they won’t know I have it unless I need it, and at that point I’ve got bigger worries than a gun free zone. He paid close attention to keeping it concealed, probably more than most of us.
