Does anyone know the make and model of this?

i was offered this on a trade but the guy said he will be out of reception for a while, all i was told is its a 16 gauge but no other info. Does anyone have any idea or a possibility of the make/model and if so its value?

EDIT: THIS IS THE PICTURE OF THE RIFLE I WAS SENT I DO NOT HAVE THE GUN IN MY POSSESION

To narrow it a bit. It looks like it has a selectachoke or such on it. Just a guess.Get the guy to send you a proper pic of the receiver and barrel markings. 

This is a real pet peeve of mine from sellers. Snap a totally useless pic and then expect everyone to jump at it.

Remington with a Cutts compensator is my read on this, too.  But it's a little hard to tell since the guy gave you a poor-quality photo from the worst possible angle.

My 2 cents guess considering the wood color, forearm shape, distinguished shell loader color, receiver shape, add on butt plate pad, and added barrel compensator or external adjustable choke, a vintage late 1950s Remington Sportsman 58 semi auto in 16 gauge.  If accurate, GB has a couple in the $700 - $900 range, but like already said, not worth a pack a weenies to me and still deduct for the especially ugly old school barrel compensator.
