And I'll admit; ever since Sig told me I'd pay shipping both ways for a disconnector that crumbled in under 500 rounds on my $1,200 Nightmare Carry, I have some serious doubts about their commitment to quality. Combine that with the machining on the inside of that pistol, and I genuinely wonder what they would actually let out the door with their logo on it.

Oh, I am not arguing against the fact that there are a lot of other reasons to dislike Sig Sauer.  My personal beef with them is that they will release a new handgun that makes you think, "Oh I should buy this!" only to release an evolved version of that same gun a year later that makes you think "I should have waited for this one instead."

Has anyone seen anything or experience with the Sig P320 discharging without the trigger being pulled.

Saw on Ch, 4 News just now that there have been several instances of this happening. The guy on the news said he was getting out of his truck,

when the pistol fired hitting him in the leg, causing a serious injury. Had a scar from his knee down his lower leg, He said the bullet is still in his Fibula.

From what I've read, the safety in front of the trigger, that most have is not there due to the design.

Thoughts??

I've owned/own several from base, legion, X models,  personal builds,  etc... since the platform was introduced with zero issues whatsoever. I've not bothered to maintain a combined round count, but it's substantial to say the least... Full disclosure,  a couple i babied but I've ran most like Harleys on a rough piece of road. I know many shooters who also own various weapons from this series and none have commented to any safety or function issues. Some complaints to "feel" or preference,  as we all have had with weapons that just "weren't my cup of tea."

I'm not a Sig fan fanboy, though I do prefer them over some weapons... again, it's a preference thing. I will say all the negative press was initially disconcerting. But,  given the numbers of these weapons in circulation compared to relatively few instances... many of which being questionable... You're an adult and you can sort out where your opinion falls. Personally,  I will continue to shoot and carry the 320 variants as part of my EDC and range rotation.

From what I've read, the issue was the lack of the safety normally in front of the trigger. There was not one. They changed this for the military, but not the civilian edition.

True or false, or somewhere in between, I dont know. Never owned one.

If you have some time on your hands, there, a long thread to read here about the 320 here, that is continually being updated

https://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?43653-New-2-July-2020-SIG-P320-Lawsuit-and-P320-Concerns

There’s enough smoke that I’ll never have one. And SIG hasn’t done themselves a favors with their arrogant attitude towards repairs and with the latest PR ploy.

Has anyone here ever sent a 320 to Sig for warranty?

I have previously posted in other threads around service warranty work that imo Sig is the most difficult company to work with for various reasons, but before adding something around a 320 experience, curious if anyone has any experience with them on this platform.

Sig has always been excellent the half a dozen times I requested service on their weapons.  Have owned quite a few in various platforms.

Concerning the "uncommanded" discharges; am still waiting for a gun involved to be inspected and the results posted.  Without that happening through a qualified independent agent it is pointless to speculate on the cause.

I suspect none of the guns involved in the videos will ever be properly inspected and found to be unmodified P320s
