Bus Wreck?

How does one bus flip another. I was just reading the article on the injured KPD Cadet and noticed the header above regarding a bus wreck in east Knoxville. 2 killed, twenty injured in the accident. Prayers to all involved.

My buddies son is on the Portland football team I think, anyways, anytime they have games that are several hours away - after school, he drives his son home because the bus drivers normally work the morning of, afternoon then drive the team wherever and drive back after the game. Fatigue, distractions of the kids and other motorists I can see why he does what he does.

Happened at intersection of Asheville Hwy and John Sevier Hwy, both big ass roads.  Asheville Hwy is divided road there so doesn't seem like head on. Maybe one bus hit the other while it was turning into Asheville Hwy or something.

My wife is a teacher at Sunnyview, the school from which Bus 44 was coming, and the one with at least 2 of the fatalities.  They are a very close-knit bunch with some great teachers.  My wife and other teachers/staff from there are at UT Hospital now and were at Children's Hospital earlier to visit and comfort the children. There are some children still in pretty bad shape as I understand it.  Prayers for the victims and their families.

Please post any updates you come across. I am stuck in Fla for a while longer taking care of my parents. I have to search a bit to find local news info from there. I used to go through that intersection twice a day, six days a week, and was frequently impressed by some of the stupid crap people did at that intersection.

Amazing as it sounds OS, reports out this morning shows the east bound bus (44) crossed the median and struck the westbound bus (57). I travel that road daily and where they collided is the only part for miles where there's no ditch dividing the lanes. Back when they redone the bridge they paved to reroute traffic and thats where the bus came across.
