The Art of the Mag Flip

What do you mean, special effects? So that's not real? Oh man...I was going to search for a tactical class that teaches that technique.

I teach the class, 50,000 dollars up front.

Now if you do not develop the skill, not my fault.

I guess my art is not so good.  When I eject mine at a horizontal angle, it comes out of the mag well fine, but travels very short.  I wonder if I could squeeze some small block chevy valve springs in there to get a little push?

You'd think that, but it's all in the wrist action. I was having a hard time mastering this too, but I think I got it now. I just had to retrieve a pmag from my neighbors. It flew through the wall fine, and even hit hit my neighbor on his head, but I think for real world use you're actually better off with GI mags. Those sharp pointy corners will come in handy.

Anyway, if your learning this indoors and don't have an industrial tub of spackle around you might grab one. There is no way I'm getting my deposit back after my homemade flash bang incident, so I'm not too worried, beside the family next door has some weird privacy issues so they'll patch the holes on their side anyway.

^^ I'm so glad you mentioned this.  I have been concerned that, in a home defense situation, over-penetration could be an issue.  Would you use PMAGs, 2nd or 3rd generation? windowed?  or maybe brownell's.   I also think if I put the ranger plates on the mag, it might not be lethal after going through drywall.  I could always just go with a 20 round or 10 round mag,... but then that may not be enough to stop the attacker.

Hard to say, with all the variables; temperature, barrel diameter, sight radius, etc. I think what we may need here is a box of truth type series of tests. I'd be really curious if the melted Pringles lids, er I mean thermomolds will act like frangible HPs. I'm thinking they might if I pre score some fracture points before hand.

There's a lot of work to do with this yet...

Whoa! Careful there, dude. Now you're getting into some territory where the BATFE might get involved. I'm sure some nit wit will send them a letter asking for a ruling about Mag Flipping PMags vs GI vs frangible Thermolds and get this whole thing shut down.

By this logic, the Surefire Mag5-60 would be along the lines of a 40mm grenade.

So I got out with my 20 round 12ga Saiga drum. man that thing went through a car, and the motor!!!

Classes start this weekend, price has gone up a bit, now 10,000 dollars for a extensive 60 min class.

So who is first in line?

I'm in Red. I don't have a saiga of my own, but only a fool would pass up the opportunity to train on such an effective technique with some new toys. One question though, any interest in a partial trade? I've got at LEAST 1k semi/used .22lr cartridges.

I can also offer some cross training if your interested in having me walk you through some tactical truck drills including dropping your pistol(s) down your waistband before rolling under your truck and firing up and through it into your targets. I've got a good practice truck, but I'd bring yours anyway as I am a firm believer in training as you fight.

Take both options to cover your class and I'll through in a dual shoulder rig and 3-way ankle to knee weapon retention system as well.

Let me know.
