FOX News on the TV is about all I'll pay attention to, other than Drudge. There are too many places to choose from.
I have become somewhat addicted to flipping back and forth between Fox and MSNBC. If Romney wins, I'll probably watch a lot of MSNBC for a couple days, just gotta see the dejection of Sharpton, Matthews, Shultz, Maddow, etc. That would be a thrill up MY leg! - OS7 points

If you're Obama, you win no matter what happens in the polls. He'll be working the rubber chicken circuit, making bank, protected by the Secret Service on our dime, for the rest of his life. Honestly if I were him, I'd want to lose the election just so I could get started with that.4 points

I haven't read this whole thread and I'm not gonna... but I had a neat idea. If Obama wins, I want to see a bunch of middle aged, over-weight, balding white guys looting the Quickie Stop on MLK Blvd. Kicking in the windows and stuffing the back seat of their bimmer with cases of frappuccino and Gardetto's. Some others gasping for breath on the verge of a heart attack about a block away because that's as far as they could carry the case of diet coke. That would f-ing ROCK! That is all. Carry on.3 points

On a sunny day late in January 2013... An old man approached the White House from Across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said, 'I would like to go in and meet with President 0bama.' The Marine looked at the man and said, 'Sir, Mr. 0bama is no longer president and no longer resides here. The old man said, 'Okay' and walked away. The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, 'I would like to go in and meet with President 0bama.' The Marine again told the man, 'Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. 0bama is no longer president and no longer resides here.' The man thanked him and, again, just walked away. The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same U.S. Marine, saying 'I would like to go in and meet with President 0bama.' The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, 'Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. 0bama. I've told you already that Mr. 0bama is no longer the president and no longer resides here. Don't you understand?' The old man looked at the Marine and said, 'Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it.' The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, 'Yes, Sir, see you tomorrow, Sir.'3 points

For me, my day tomorrow will go as each day does...I'll go to work, earn some money, pay some bills, read some, watch some TV and play with my cat and my dog then go to bed and repeat the same thing on Thursday and on Friday. If Romney wins, as I expect he will, I'll be doing all this things with a renewed hope that this country may begin the slow, slow, process of stopping our headlong plunge over the financial and socialist cliff and start to turn back toward liberty and freedom and personal responsibility. If Obama wins then I truly believe that the country our founders gave us will be lost as we'll continue to spend trillions of dollars we don't have...leave Americans to die without help and without repercussions...punish achievers so that we can reward the inept and lazy...dole out "justice" at the whim of unscrupulous, morally bankrupt people...and call our friends enemies and our enemies, "friends"; all done, of course, in the name of "fairness" and "equality". At least at my age I can be pretty sure I won't be around long enough to see the worst of it.3 points

It is discouraging to read, even on this forum, that so many are given to the notion that who is president makes so much difference. Granted, with BO it DOES make a difference, because he has no qualms about bypassing congress or the Constitution. But with most presidents it really doesn't, nor should it. What's more important is who we elect to the Senate and House. With enough Tea Party and Constitutionalist members, I believe Romney can be pulled to the right. BO can not, as he has demonstrated multiple times. Economically, Romney knows what the gov needs to do (get out of the way) to get businesses hiring. BO doesn't care. His goal is to bring the US down a few notches. And he has been successful. So when R wins today, I'll improve my outlook about the future. But I harbor no illusions that all is peachy. Tomorrow we are going to have to get started keeping him and our senators and representatives on a short leash and make sure they do what is in the best interest of the country and not in the best interest of their reelection or which cocktail parties they're invited to in DC. Will that happen? It never has in the past, but I really do think that BO has caused such a backlash that we are starting to see more and more paying attention. I just hope it lasts. From that perspective, I'm kind of glad that BO beat McCain in '08. With McCain, we'd still be plodding down the same road we've been on for 100 years. With BO stomping the gas pedal to the floor, it woke up many sleeping passengers. Will3 points
Paid my dues. Meaning myself and others like me have deposited a form of payment to their Country. We now have a special interest in what happens in this Country. The work never ends. The dues never expire. All citizens work is never done.
I have two honorable discharges, volunteered during Vietnam, and served my country as a Police Officer. If any of that matters. I can only speak for myself, but I was very well trained. Trained well enough to know that if I have a "gut feeling" something was wrong I acted on it. Disarming a person that you feel is a possible danger is for his safety also. It keeps you from having to kill him if he does something stupid, and it reduces his chances of shooting you while you are dealing with the ticket, accident, arrest, whatever. Bad people shoot cops on traffic stops and Police Officers will never (Hopefully) be required to wait until guns are pulled to act.2 points
When BHO loses I'll also have a sigh of relief that our country hasn't gone down the tubes. IF he wins my cranium won't combust but I'll be depressively disappointed. After 4yrs of Romney IF he hasn't done what he said he was going to do, at least on the big issues, then I will vote him out too. Life goes on. The next fight will be in 2014 with 33 of the 100 seats in the Senate being contested. I hope everyone will remember what we went through in 2008 when it comes for that time to vote.
Amen...anyone who things "it's over" if Romney wins would be a fool. Restoring and protecting our republic is a job that never ends nor is it a spectator sport - we can't let up on the pressure just because Obama gets replaced. Individual people CAN make a difference but ONLY if they engage themselves in the process.2 points

One of the things I've noticed about some firearm enthusiasts is that some seem to have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to LEOs. We all know there are "bad cops" out there who will stomp all over our "rights" and/or who on on some kind of power trip but whether the LEO is right or wrong, the side of the road is NEVER the place for such things to be decided. Statements like "Where in the Constitution does it say my rights can be trampled on so someone who knowingly accepted a dangerous job could feel all warm and fuzzy?" reflect an attitude that will, in my opinion, not serve one well long-term no matter how many times one has been pulled over with no problems...yet.2 points

Cuomo, thorugh executive order, just allowed New Yorkers to vote with just an affidavit. No ID or anything else proving they are who they are is required. They said they need to follow up to verify who they are later or their vote will not count. But if votes are annonymous how is this possible? I guess the person with the affidavit could vote for Obama then when questioned later he can say he voted for Romney. Two votes from a single person. Dolomite1 point
Actually, salvaging your one misbegotten vote is not worth more than 100 posts. Take your biased wiki-facts and check the context. What was the job loss in Massachusetts prior to Romney? What was the job loss after Romney? You don't know. It's pertinent. You didn't check. That makes you ignorant in the original meaning of ignorant. What's more, you are willfully ignorant. You were presented with facts. You ignored them. You know what your own mind is, additional facts to the contrary. It seems that your desire to be right over-rides your desire to understand. Do your homework. Pay attention. Otherwise, stick with your view in spite of being presented with evidence to the contrary by people who lived through the time and were actually there. Stick with your view. Live with it. Choke on it. You have now demonstrated that YOU ARE NOT WORTH correcting. You are a child and will apparently remain a child. Throw your vote away. Stomp your little foot in your rightness. Once upon a time, in a different century, they used to say "Don't trust anyone over thirty." One day soon, you will be over thirty, and you'll actually find out how ignorant and narrow your thinking is, and you won't pay any attention to yourself because you'll be over thirty. I've been in the military for well over three decades, longer than you've been alive apparently, and overseas a significant portion of my life in a combat zone "defending the country." And then, with other folks like me, we come home, and we come across silly little punks that make us think -- WHY DID WE BOTHER? We'd like to continue to "save the country" to the extent that we can, and little know-nothing, smart-ass punks stand up on their hind legs and spout self-righteous nonsense and refuse to be corrected. Fine. Throw your vote away. Vote for Obama for all we care. When we all sink into a Socialist, Marxist, Communist Hell-hole of ignorance, brutality and depravity, deal with it. We who defended your right to be a complete moron will probably be dead, either of old age or at some cross-roads barricade, and you can go through all the sweat and heartbreak and fight your own damn battles and learn the hard way, if you learn at all.1 point
Okay...at first blush, I don't see this as some big breech of this marine's rights. Regardless of our "rights" and regardless of whether the state we are in at the moment does or doesn't allow open carry and/or constitutional carry; I don't think it should be difficult to understand that when an officer stops us, whether he was or wasn't justified in doing so, it's not unreasonable that the officer may be concerned about the fact that we are armed and may be overly cautious. I guess what I'm saying is that both this marine and this officer could benefit from some relaxation techniques. In the meantime; I'll listen to this again...maybe I missed something. I watched it because I dig Hell On Wheel's Anson Mount (from TN!). I didn't get very worked up over political messages in it. I didn't really detect any. If it was a campaign piece for Obama, I didn't pick up on it. They had Obama speaking in his voice of the political ramifications if it turned out to not be a baddie in the compound, or if the op was botched...but I didn't get the impression of Obama kicking ass and demanding we get Osama.
Well... 1. 0bama is taking power that he doesn't have and no one is stopping him. 2. Whoever is POTUS in the next four years will likely have the opportunity to choose 2, 3, or maybe even 4 SCOTUS judges. Regardless of all other politics, do you really want to leave that to 0bama??? 3. Just upon MR's victory alone, the price of gas will drop very quickly, public confidence throughout the U.S. will rise, businesses will see light at the end of the tunnel and start hiring, Christmas will be good because there will be real hope, not that fake stuff 0bama was peddling. If 0bama were to win, this country would slide into a darkness of mental depression because of the past four years, people would know from experience to expect more of the same and worse. The result of 0bama getting 4 more years would likely be unrecoverable, it would be goodbye USA as we have known it for generations - all in less than 8 years. That is a nightmare worth voting against. You may not have hope in MR, no one is begging you too. But you, along with the rest of us, have seen the past 4 years. Do you want more of that?
