Decided to get away from it all with some friends today. Took a nice lil stroll up the holler and across the ridges. Found a nice lil clearing on an old logging road, after fighting through 3 year old new growth under brusb and briars. Built a lil fire, did some carving, cooked some bacon and and coffe and just had a good old time. Its been a truly good day. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere4 points

Yep, next week I'll be making at least half a dozen offers a day. I expect to get a lot of hate mail back, but I'm sure some will bite. It will feel good. Cash is hard to turn down when you need smokes, PBR and baby food.4 points

I doubt there is much that this guy does by "accident." I'm sure everything that goes on in that office is so well thought out and planned. The guy can't even eat food without it being pre-tested. This was no mistake. They're only saying that because of negative backlash.3 points

If you haven't uninstalled and reinstalled Tapatalk since David was kind enough to let us use it again, you may need to do so. I'm still seeing HTML code in posts made by some of those using Tapatalk. I was having the same issue, and a quick uninstall and reinstall solved the problem.2 points

A free market capitalist society works by selling high and buying low. Just because the commodity of the day happens to be something we love dearly doesn't give any of us just cause to defame those who .....(wait for it, the word of the day) CAPITALIZE on a ripe market. Who would be complaining right now if the price of Cabbage Patch dolls had quadrupled over night? Who was griping when gold spiked so fast a while back? You might not like it, I certainly don't, but it's not a fair assessment to say there ever has been a 'problem'. There is not and hasn't been a problem for the prepared person. Chance favors the prepared mind and the venture capitalists take big chances in hopes of big returns. Anyone who doesn't support this type of market, doesn't truly support the foundation of this country. We don't have to like it to admit and accept the fact that it's fair and those engaged in it are doing NOTHING wrong.2 points

My Cousin sold a Bushmaster M4 and a case of Tulammo .223 for $3600 at the height of the panic. He paid off the rest of his car payment with the profits. He only had $1000 in the package. I am with you, Magic. If someone is willing to be stupid enough to pay 3 and 4 times the MSRP on an item, why not? Maybe they will learn not to be stupid.2 points

Was told by a shop that a local guy spent $3,500 to buy two AR's. He used the money for his mortgage, car payment, utilities and all his insurance money for the month or two to buy them. His wife told him not to but he convinced his wife he could sell them for $3,500 each in a week. Last I heard he was having a hard time paying his bills because he isn't even making his money back. I suspect there are a lot of people in the same boat now. Facing bills they cannot pay because they hoped to take advantage of the fear mongering people where doing. Dolomite2 points

Let their tears fall like rain. I'll be more than happy to lowball these bastards with cash. I've already seen the excuses starting on other forums- "I got a little carried away with the panic and now I need to sell some stuff". Oh well, sucks to be you. Now we'll see the real free market at work.2 points

I see no crime here except the murder of 2 children by a selfish moron.2 points

I think I'll keep a couple grand on hand for 'ol Jim Bob. I have every intention of making low ball offers on these clowns that cleaned out retailers and are now looking at their CC statement wondering how they're going to pay it. Jim Bob needs to feel pain for what he is trying to do to honest gun owners. I will be scooping up as many rifles I can at 25% below retail value. At least I'll have a good collection to pass on to my kids.2 points

The manner in which I would snap if this was my child would be biblical.2 points

Well, you're probably right, as the only way they can really enforce the penalty for not buying insurance is to withhold any tax return money. Another reason to never loan the government your money interest free for a year. If you're getting a return, you're screwing yourself to begin with. - OS2 points

Young? Man, I'm 41. I kinda don't believe I should have to join the military and go to a foreign country in order to exercise my right to keep and bear arms. I am also old enough to remember when pretty much every "good ol' boy" drove a pickup truck that had a gun rack in the rear window. That rack generally held at least a shotgun and, often, a rifle. Those long guns were present year 'round, not just during hunting season and, no, hunting season isn't different because the Second Amendment is not about hunting. It was not a big deal and no one freaked out nor were they portrayed as 'armed mobs' by most folks because, back then, people weren't drinking the pussification Kool-Aid. Some of us might like to still be able to do that without being harassed and without anyone freaking out. It isn't our fault that the general populace has their heads up their collective asses. I also don't think that most of us are talking about walking down the sidewalk, either alone or in groups, while carrying an AR, etc.2 points

We all know about Magpul, but that's just the start. Outdoor Channel programming changes, from Michael Bane: But that's not all. A few posts prior, Bane was concerned about competitions already under contract, including the Ruger Rimfire Challenge Worlds Championship Well, Ruger came through: Hats off to Ruger! And may Bill rest in peace. Edited to add: From Ruger schedule page (scroll down):1 point

We need common sense laws for the press. I mean how many guns are bad articles do we need? Is not one opinion enough? Let's have a waiting period for reporting stories so they can get the facts straight and not jump to conclusions. We need a 1 newpaper/magazine a month law so they won't feel like they have to have more than one article about the same story.\ Common Sense at work..........1 point

Seems like I remember the left was always complaining about how we were being viewed by the world when G.W. Bush was in office. I don't expect this would change anything considering how hypocritical the left is in general but it just sickening that we have such a dictatorial clown in office.1 point

I remember folks saying the same thing about the Republican Guard. I'd be more concerned about taking on N. Korean ground troops if they were actually well fed and had real morale instead of a manufactured one. I would compare these folks to the Jap forces who were cut off from supplies in WWII and crushed by the Navy and Marines. Yeah, they fought to the last man, but they sustained astronomical casualties and THEY were the defenders. Usually it is the other way around. If NK decides to be the aggressor in this equation they would be crushed in a very embarassing way. It isn't 1950 any more. They don't have the anti-air capabilities to protect their supply lines from guided munitions, let alone protect their AA batteries from said munitions. They can't support such a large force without food, water and fuel. Whatever gains they would make in the outset would be undone in short order.1 point

This event was sponsored by CURE . If you are not familiar with Star Parker's life story, you should be. I once saw her verbally rip Jesse Jackson to shreds on a talk show. I consider CURE a very worthwhile cause, and have contributed to them in the past, as i will continue to do-- and not only because of their stance on the 2nd amendment.1 point

Good for you, but I'd rather not be part of the problem. It's because of everyone that though like you that we may never see prices return to pre-Sandy Hook levels. I can almost promise that ammo prices will not go back down to the level they were before the shooting because of the price gouging and hysteria fed by people such as yourself. No offense to you Magic but you didn't help the situation.1 point

Wow folks. If you don't want to participate then don't. But being so nasty about this is really not the right answer. He is not forcing anyone to do anything. No need to meet him with such hatred for his idea. Jezz thought people on here were above being like that.1 point

Hey, that design predates the shortages so it has to be worth 2x-3x as much now. Especially considering it is used to catch semi auto brass. I need to find a black pillow case and sell it as a "tactical" brass catcher. The word "tactical" adds 50% to the price these days.1 point

Magpul's Latest... With the signing of the HB 1224, we want to reassure Colorado residents, now officially in occupied territory, that the "Boulder Airlift" will continue until we can no longer legally ship to CO residents at the approach of the July 1 deadline, so long as demand continues. We are looking at additional ways to give Coloradans the opportunity to buy the magazines they need prior to the enactment date, as although we've been swamped with tens of thousands of orders, our shipping department limitations have only allowed us to get a few hundred thousand magazines out to CO residents...a small portion of our monthly production. We'll continue to support the Airlift as long as demand exists, and up to the active date of the legislation, and we've allocated a little over a million magazines for the effort up to that point, give or take. Customers in the rest of the country should rest assured that the airlift only takes a small portion of our production, and magazines and other products are continuing to ship to the rest of the nation. Our transition to a new home will occur in a phased and orderly a manner to allow us to continue to serve our customers during the move, as well as to allow an orderly transition for affected employees. We are actively working on those plans.1 point

Ha, well the difference is we know better (or should know better) so our situation is our own fault.1 point

On the "could open the door" w/regards to lifetime permits to everyone, it could also potentially have the opposite effect, with regards to some folks not supporting future legislation because "the matter has already been settled" so to speak. Hard to predict, because Dems could use their vote on this very limited eligability one as political cover, to say they already supported lifetime permits in this particular instance, while opposing future attempts to expand it to other, everyday folks who are eligable for current renewable permits. So it could end up being thought as "settled law" and never make it out of sub-committee again, at least not in the short term.1 point

But it is a Right, one that specifies ..."shall not be infringed". However it has been infringed upon so much generation after generation under the spirit of compromise for the greater good that it has for all intents & purposes become a Privilage, one that is constantly under threat of complete removal, without even having so much as a Constutuional Convention as required by law to amend the Bill of Rights ... they have simply, purposefully & successfully have redefined the 2nd Amendment of the Bill of Rights, as a Privilage & now wish to revoke that privilage. But hey it's just words written on a piece of paper after all right? by a bunch of dead, slave plantation owning , rich white guys whose ancient ideals have absolutely no relevence in today's modern society ... right?1 point

Maybe I am over simplifying, but it seems to me that the "nays" are failing to digest the fact that while our federal government is supposed to represent the greater will of our country, the concentration of our will as Tennesseans on a national level pales in comparison to the concentration of our will within our own state. Our representation at the federal level has many strings pulling them in many directions, of course our local representation does as well.....but it just seems to me that our state government should realize that if they were to truly take stock in the will of the people who elected them and be real honest, it's pretty clear that the majority of TN constituents support 2A and would support taking our own measures in protecting those rights whether the federal government is willing to or not. Not only are we saying that our state demands our liberties, but we are also telling the country that our state is the place to be if you believe in securing your liberties. Our state should be very attractive to industry that depends on the health of the 2A. We should be putting major efforts into recruiting 2A dependent industry to our state. We secure our rights and we build our economy. I realize this is a bit of a ramble, but hopefully it makes some since.1 point

I think it sucks. Making that comment about a man that has spent his life in service to the USA saving an unknown amount of lives of servicemen in Iraq, then to come back and continue to help our troops on a one on one basis is beyond the comments from a politician. Ron Paul is not worthy of holding the urine bucket while Chris Kyle re-leaves himself in my opinion. As far as the "Treating PTSD" statement, Kyle wasn't an idiot. He thought the man was ready for the range. You can't always see the evil in a mans heart.1 point
