That's a realtor snake. If my wife saw that in our yard, I'd be calling a realtor.8 points

Last time I attended a Military funeral was here in Gallatin when a Local marine was killed in Iraq. The Westboro Church showed up for that one and so did the Patriot Guard. The LEO's here told the Church members that is they even so much as stepped 1 foot off the side walk and into the street they would be arrested immediately as their protest paperwork stated side walks only and they gave them an appointed location they were allowed in which to protest. Then when the Patriot Guard showed up 150+ strong the police told them that they could not park their motorcycles on any Sidewalks. The gave the Guard a designated location that they could horizontally back their motor cycles into the curb of which all were flying large American flags on the rear of the bikes. The parking area was directly in front of the Westboro Church sidewalk location. With all of the flags blowing in the breezes you could not even see the church members. I politely thanked one of the LEO's for their designed thinking and he just smiled and said thank you. Funeral came off without a hitch...................... :up:5 points

Check the Patriot Guard Riders website for any notices sent out about "missions". PGR was established by two American Legion Riders in Kansas to put a barrier between these people and the families. Mission statements will give the staging time and location, person in charge (ride captain), contact info and any other pertinent details. Now we provide American Flag Lines and escorts for any serviceperson, veteran, or first responder when requested by the family. Membership is free, you don't have to ride a motorcycle, or be a veteran-- just want to support those who serve us. They stood for me so I'll stand for them.4 points

I read an article that the organization Oath Keepers sent members from the state of Arkansas to every recruiting office to act as security in case anyone else tried to copy cat what took place in Chattanooga. They said the Oath Keepers will remain at all Recruiting Stations there until they felt any threats were over. My hats off to the Oath Keepers in Arkansas for their fast response to protect our unarmed military Personnel................jmho3 points

Westboro Baptist church members live for being attacked. That is how they make their money. They hope their rights are violated so they can sue. Most of the active members are actually lawyers or studying to be one. We all have our ways of making money and surviving but their way is absolutely disgusting. Anger should not be the emotion anyone who is burying a loved one should feel at their funeral and at some point someone is going to loose it and try to kill them. And although I do not condone anyone being killed for exercising their rights if it happens I will not be too upset about it. And maybe after they see their members are loosing their lives they will find an ambulance or two to chase rather than use their right to free speech to desecrate our heroes. And even though the Westboro members have the right to free speech they choose to use it to disrespect those that have actually fought so they have that right and that is what bothers me more than anything else. They do not realize that is was those Marines, and sailor, that ensures they have that right to protect at the funerals of the fallen.3 points

I finished this build back in April or May or something. Special thanks to Gordon for making my buffer less than 2 oz. I haven't ran this gun with the new Syrac gas block on it, but it has to run a little better than that cheap POS $20 adjustable gas block I had on it when I went out the range the first time. The rifle ran fine before the swap. I did modify the trigger springs to lighten up the pull, but it would not hurt if I polished the grit out of the trigger. The trigger pull is nothing to write home about, especially compared to my current project.... Anyways, if you wasted two minutes of your life taking that rot-gut excuse of a write up, you deserve a few pics to make up.2 points

As to the missing bullet? What do you bet the previous owner shot 200g'ers and dropped ONE bullet, it rolled under the bench never to be found again most of us who load are a bit OCD. No way a man can load 19, 49 or 99 rounds. You just cannot do it. He probably saw that one piece of lonely brass laying there and the temptation was just too much.2 points

Very nice, and congrats! I've bough a couple of ALG QMS triggers just to have smoother than stock feel. For 46 bucks, I can't beat it. Once I practice polishing out the grit of stock triggers, then I won't pay for ones that have been polished. But for now, they are a great cheap upgrade.2 points

Hmm, wonder where this douche is gonna be buried? Were he to be buried somewhere around here, wonder what the world would have to say if we protested HIS funeral. Maybe even set up a BBQ and beer fest with a portapotty over his grave. Westboro can do it, so why not?2 points

A couple years ago I had a cracked nock and it cause my Switchback to come apart. Not for sure if the nock was bad or it was damaged by another arrow hitting it. Whatever happed the nock failed. The arrow landed fifteen yards short and the string and cable came loose. What I didn't know was that it caused some limb damage. Took the bow to Sportsman's Choice last week and told H.A. what had happened. He called Mathews, told them the story, and got me some new limbs under warranty. Both H.A. and Mathews could have said it wasn't under warranty and let it go at that, but they didn't. In my experience, both the dealer and the manufacturer went the extra mile. So the next time you slap an arrow take a good look at the nock to make sure it isn't damaged. Out of the thousands of shots this is the first time it's happened to me, and I must say, it still gonna cost me a few bills to get it fixed. Don't let it happen to you.2 points

Anymore there isn’t a lot of difference in the “Republican Party” and the “Democratic Party”. It’s more of those that want to freeload off the government vs. those that work for a living. Both parties need the support of those that want to live off the government to get elected; they are a very big group...and getting bigger every day.2 points

I agree, but tell me this.....what have the Republicans done any differently?2 points

I shoot Berry's 100-grainers in my .380s and can use them in a 9mm case as well. Both give good results. I think that a heavier weight in a .380 case is an elusive and dicey quest. Even factory loads stop at 95 grains and I'm sure there's good reasons for that. If you're looking for a bullet that will satisfy two calibers and not put you into dangerous territory, I'd stop at the 100-grain and be happy, happy, happy.2 points

I don't think they are fools, they know exactly what they want. They are authoritarian socialists, they dream of a time when America has the same type of government and laws like most all of Europe, they disdain individual rights which means they disdain the Constitution, they are simple elitist control freaks.2 points

I really like my 10.5 AR Pistol. TN having a HANDGUN carry permit is my only reason for not SBRing it. I think I have the gas ports figured out for good suppressed and unsuppressed use. Once my form 4 clears I will commence with the in depth reliabilty testing and make the final adjustments. So far it makes for a great gun at inside of 200 meters with Federal Fusion 62gr. Very handy indoors. The only "problem" is that sometimes my buffer tube contacts my shoulder during recoil/cycling. Overall I would highly recommend getting one if you are willing to tinker with it. Getting them to feed all types of ammo under the sun can be a chore.1 point

My 300 bo pistol build (which won't be done anytime soon) has an ALG trigger, but I swapped the hammer out for a chopped down mil-spec that is polished up a good bit. Talk about a buttery smooth trigger pull that'll make a grown man blush in the middle of a moonless night on the third Saturday of any given January.1 point

I'm finishing up a 9mm AR pistol now. Waiting for the magazine's to arrive then off to the range.1 point

When we have to allow a disgusting group like WBC to hold protests at funerals; we truly have misinterpreted the Constitution and the intent of our founding Fathers. Send them the message that they have been barred from these funerals and if they show up they will be arrested and jailed.1 point

My younger son was Army National Guard 11B infantry. In Infantry School he got training with everything from the M4 to Ma Duece, but no pistol training at all. In Iraq his primary weapon was a 240B mounted on top of a MRAP. He had a M4 for a walking around weapon. For a while he was issued a M9, however he turned it back in by his own choice because he considered it just extra dead weight to carry. As for myself, Army 1972-75, I never got any formal handgun training. However, I did receive some very basic pistol training on the unit level and was required to qualify once per year, but only because I was a driver of a tracked vehicle and the 1911 was supposed to be my issued personal weapon. However, due to a shortage of 1911s in our unit, I was never issued one. While I am all in favor of issuing weapons for our military on U.S. soil, most are not trained in the use of a handgun. By all means issue pistols as needed, but first properly train these troops to use them.1 point

this may be, out of the box. My mk3 has been converted to mk2 and is mostly metal. Out of the box, it had a sorry trigger, the buck was better. After the TLC, the ruger was better. There are so many versions of both guns, its a tossup. But out of the box, yea, browning is better, largely because of that trigger mechanism they stuck in the mark 3s for 'safety'.1 point

Something seems a little fishy about his weapons, not much being said where he got them. I still think there would be plenty of liberals screaming gun control now like with the church shooting but nothing is being said at all. Wonder if any of those missing Fast and Furious guns have been smuggled back from Mexico.1 point

Pine snake.... Pituophis melanoleucus. They can get rather large. 6 or 7 feet, if they live long enough. Have had more than a couple of 'em show up around here, over the years. Won't hurt you, but might make you hurt yourself.1 point

And if the above do not fix, try a Small-Base sizer. I have had to do that a few times.1 point

or an ATGM. Good grief, these people are in charge of multi-million dollar pieces of equipment that could single handedly flatten a village and they're not allowed to carry, or be trusted with a god damn sidearm?1 point

So let 'em just have an M4 handy, so much the better. - OS1 point

Please help me understand this. If they are Marines then they did go thru basic training and shoot both rifles and pistols correct?? I would have to argue about the no clue phrase. If they need additional training to carry then train them.1 point

I grew up in the late 60's and 70's watching the Dukes, listening to Charlie Daniels with a rebel flag on the album cover, seeing it at NASCAR races and remembering no one, white or black getting all that bent out of shape about it. Now I don't "know" how it feels but I guess I can understand why some black Americans who grew up in the south during the 50's and 60's would view it offensive, maybe bringing up bad memories of being harrassed or threatened, assualted and just treated horribly, maybe had the flag shoved in their face so I personally wont display one but I seriously doubt the motivation of many who do or did in the past was to promote racism, I just can't see Charlie Daniels or the Duke boys as raging racists. I think the attitude was better back in the 70's and 80's somewhat, most people white and black didn't waste their time and energy caring all that much about the rebel flag and could even joke somewhat about silly stereotypes in movies and TV shows. Think they could make Blazing Saddles today? Or even some TV shows like Sandford And Son, one of my favorites, or the Jeffersons. Some people today are trying to force their political ideology on others by labeling them racist and phobes ect., thinking that will magically make them see the world the way they do, all that's doing is pissing them off going in a step backwards.1 point
