  1. Let us all not forget what this day represents to AMERICA and all the men and women and families that have sacrificed so much that we are still the greatest nation on Earth!!!

  3. I got this in a trade a while back. Kind of rare PPC, being it is .357 GP100 with Mascot sight rib, unknown gunsmith. It is an early serial # GP100. The trigger rolls so nice. It is fun to shoot from cupcake .38s to fullhouse .357s.

  4. How true Doug, it will only take a generation that doesn't teach the next generation to honor our vet's for this day to be a forgotten day. of just a good day for some store to have a so-called sale!! That is one reason that General Eisenhower made sure that many movies and pictures were taken of WWII Holocaust victims and the prisons because he said "One day they will say it never happened". I think that day has come.

  5. Picked up one of these S&W EZ 380s from Academy a while back for 329.00. This is the version without thumb safety. It does everything a .380 is supposed to but easier: 1) shoots fast to point of aim (recoil is negligible) 2)reliable 3) mags are the easiest center pistol mags I have ever loaded 4) You can rack the slide with two fingers. It is not as small as my Keltec P32 but it is so easy to grab and shoot. I can't begin to recall all the small handguns I have owned, including various ultra light revolvers. This thing beats them all in terms of ease of use. I am not getting younger. A review: https://dailycaller.com/2018/06/28/gun-test-sw-mp-380-shield-ez/

  6. This past week I moved from VA to TN. Prior to my move, I was offered a deal I had to take. My final act as a Virginia resident was a deal I worked with a gentleman to find a new home for this beautiful, unconverted gun. Bluing is beautiful, grips are beautiful, couple nicks here and there. Nice plum color on the loading gate. Serial number 31610. Overall, very pleased with this one. This particular Old Model Flattop configuration is rare and not your average Ruger. Very excited to take this bad boy out!

  7. Dry firing a rimfire is generally not a good idea as the firing pin might slam against the chamber wall causing damage to the pin and possibly peening the outer chamber as well. Expensive snap caps are usually the answer. Well, if you didn’t know, yellow drywall anchors are about the exact same size as a .22 round and cost only pennies each. They even extract in semi autos. BTW, I doubt they work for loading up a mag and running drills...if one wanted to do such a thing.

  9. You know that this isn't the same world we grew up in. From about the 2nd grade on I carried a pocket knife or knives to school each day and I don't recall stabbing or cutting 1 single person. About 13 years ago I was working in the oilfield and my boss had sent these 2 fairly new guys out to install a chemical tank and we used a poly tubing that is easily cut with even a dull knife. Well it took them much longer than it should have and when the truth came out, neither had a knife on them. I told my boss each new hire or better an applicant needed to be asked to show a knife. That way you can cull out the knotheads!!

  10. I don’t know if you and your sons are into big azz ships or big azz ships with big azz guns, but you will be about 45 miles from the Navy Base at Norfolk. Standing face to face with a modern day Aircraft Carrier on a tour of the Naval base or going through the Battleship USS Wisconsin and standing next to 16” guns is something that would probably impress you and your sons. https://www.visitnorfolk.com/things-to-do/tours/tour-norfolk-naval-base/ You will also be 2.5 hours from the Courthouse at Appomattox.. https://www.nps.gov/apco/index.htm

  11. Thanks for posting this Bersaguy. Everyone needs to remember and think about what today stands for. June 6 is coming up and I always remember an old man that lived close to me. He was there on one of the beaches in Normandy that day.

  13. Busch Gardens is great. Historic Yorktown battlefields (I grew up here in Yorktown area). Lots of small breweries if you are into that. When I worked for Anheuser Busch they had stopped tours, but I believe they built a new Biergarten. If you're into racing, Langley Speedway in Hampton on Saturday nights always puts on a hell of a show. VA Beach a little more than an hour away.

  15. Well if you think your right to protect your life and your family comes from the Constitution; there are plenty of arguments about it. I can argue either side. But I do not tie my right to protect myself to a dog like the 2nd amendment that is both poorly written, and poorly interpreted, and is emotionally argued, and can be gone with a vote. But my right to protect myself comes from a natural right, or unalienable right; as mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. There is no gray area of a well regulated Militia, effectiveness of the military, reasonable restriction, and does not require interpretation by the Supreme Court of the United States. Unfortunately neither protect my right to carry a gun under the laws. Our Founding Fathers were not a bunch of arrogant azzhats that thought they were creating a document that would bind all future generations to it. Quite the opposite; it was written as a foundation for going forward. It can be changed and amended as needed. It is our duty to do so as our country changes. They knew that. So, will the 2nd amendment be gone? Possibly some day. But I don’t think most of us will see it. Thankfully it takes a lot to change the Constitution. A more likely scenario is interpretation by the SCOTUS. The 2nd amendment (or any others) can get changed by the interpretation of the SCOTUS. They have already ruled that you have the right to keep arms. They have neutered the “Bear Arms” by saying states can impose reasonable restrictions. As you have seen some states think banning the AR is a reasonable restriction. Another case could cause them to rule you have the right to keep and bear arms with no restrictions, or that a well regulated Militia is our Military and Law Enforcement agency’s and you have to 2nd amendment rights at all. But one thing is for sure; the 1st and 2nd amendments will continue to be debated and twisted daily to fit the needs of whoever is making an argument.

  19. Middle Tennessee Shooters Club in Manchester will be hosting a United Multigun League match on Sunday June 2nd. This is event 7 of the Tennesse multigun series but you do not have to be part of the series to shoot this match. The UML ruleset can be found here http://unitedmultigunleague.com/uml-rules/ The following divisions will be recognized, tac optics, tac irons, heavy tac, open, 2x4 tactical, 2x4 open, pcc, 2gun (rifle/pistol) plus our traditional Heavy Metal division. With all the options available to the shooters it is difficult to give an exact round count but if you're shooting one of the 3 gun divisions 100 for each gun should be enough. For 2 gun bring 150 for each and pcc should bring 250 to 300. Bring at least 8 slugs as well. We will be shooting 5 stages, longest shot will be around 200 yards. No slings necessary. There will be a link posted for early sign up on practiscore or sign up at the match. Registration will be from 1100 to noon and we'll get started promptly thereafter. Match fee is $25 for non members of the range and $20 for members. If this will be your first time shooting a match please arrive early for a new shooters orientation. I can be reached here or at sumocrp@aol.com with any questions.

  23. I did a DIY on my 870 Tactical, see issue, standard pull to long for me. Cut a bit off, just enough to retail the rear sling attachment. Added a Limb Saver, perfect fit, both on the butt and how it fits the stock. I went this route because I didn't want to spend money on an adjustable stock. Is this an option for your application? I've never handled a shotgun with a pistol grip, so can't give any info, just opinion, to the pros / cons
