  1. Over scoped? Looks like you still have some room left for more.
  2. I saw your earlier thread with the stocks. Just curious as to what swung you one way from the other.
  3. Kicks and grins honestly. Figured it would be better for my purposes than a single setting light.
  4. I think AROMatt hit the nail on the head with all points. Personally I'm a fan of Surefire, and I've spent a whole lot of money with them. Any of the Scout series are great lights and you can't go wrong there. I have the new Intellibeam coming to stick on one of my rifles so hopefully that will live up to the hype. As far as batteries go you can get rechargeable CR133As so don't think you're stuck with AAs. Again, as stated above you're not keeping the light on for long periods of time.
  5. This is great for practicing clearing jams and what not, because it will do just that. Originally bought couple boxes to feed my Uzi, but ended up putting it through my 19. Every couple rounds would fail to cycle or do something else. It doesn't seem to be a problem in the smaller guns like the 43 though.
  6. Installing a new control panel on an old generator. Huge pain in the rear.
  7. I had that experience the other day. They said "Cut the red wire and attach to terminal 55" Me: "Uh, that's going to be a problem..." (Red wire here I had to add in to jumper jumper two things together, not part of the original cut conversation)
  8. Apex Gun Parts is the first that comes to mind. There's also Numrich, Royal Tiger Imports, Sarco, AK Builder and a couple others. Unless you have the tools your first one will cost way more than a store bought, but price goes down for all the next builds.
  9. I'd just drop a new Ghost connector in and see what that does for you. Takes all of maybe 10 minutes to do.
  10. Might consider dumping the stock until your paperwork comes back.
  11. Kinda funky looking but I wouldn't mind one in .45-70.
  12. I'm bumping this topic because I lost the postponement thread but I wanted to share some progress. Both have gone dormant due to some unfortunate circumstances but once they're resolved we should be up and running again. In any case I decided to go ahead and build out a G3 to learn the ropes and try to find any pit falls. So far I've learned far more than I thought was possible about these systems, and made a few more mistakes than I care to admit along the way. It still needs some clean up and paint after the test fire but here it is as of today.
  13. Only thing is I wished I had known it before turning down a socket in the lathe for sight removal.
  14. The same thing in the Craftsman tool line works as well.
  15. The 34 MOS models are $650 plus tax and tics. Also worth noting they're actually used from their rental collection but don't appear to be beat up.
  16. If I see you pulling anything from a case and screaming, I'm probably going to be running regardless.
  17. You won't get anything thinner than kydex.
  18. Thinking either a Ruger Mark IV or a Glock 34 Gen 4 MOS.
  19. That new Vortex 1-6 is on my short list for optics choices for one of my ARs.
  20. I certainly don't disagree with any of that. For the most part though I don't intend on selling any of my home builds so worrying about resale is at the bottom of the list. Then again I'm just a particular person who likes nice things so far as guns go, it's why I've really stopped buying off the shelf for the most part.
  21. Nothing wrong with mil-spec, they can be cleaned up easily and be nice triggers. The thing is as an individual I don't have to worry about the price of one part in a rifle, because I'm not buying 20k rifles. So why not get the best you can get?
