  1. Always regretted not buying a pump rifle. Just never seemed to get around to it.
  2. I have one or two Smiths. lol
  3. Now this is an interesting photo! Makes me want to ask all kinds of questions. Like why is that woman wearing a monkey? lol Really, I thought it was some sort of wrap at first.
  4. Yep. Just ordered a Taurus 605. Don't laugh! It's actually a pretty good little pistol. Just wish I'd done it sooner. Then I might not have gotten that Rock Island M206 last week. I haven't taken it out yet, but lets just say it ain't as pretty as the Taurus. lol
  5. My last 22 purchase was late 2018. Saw the storm gathering and and bit the proverbial bullet on a quantity of CCI Blazer 22. Yes it was high, but not like now. So I'm ok with it.
  6. My opinion. I like them. Easy to use. Similar to the mag loaders supplied with most semi-autos these days. I have seen them to be a bit pricey though. At one time they were hovering around the 30 mark. Sometimes even higher. But at 19, it not excessive. But do you trust the source to have a true Maglula? Or a knockoff?
  7. First, trained or untrained, and while it was bad form, the McCloskeys were acting in fear of their lives. They can be forgiven for bad form. While they attempted to remain calm in the face of a stated threat from the trespassers shouting for their(McCloskeys) injury or death, I do not believe they broke any law. Second, I don't quite know how to react to your statement "i understand they would want to destroy the protestors had they attacked." I don't think that's correct. The McCloskeys should and would have been only able to reply in kind from an attack...perceived or actual. Wouldn't any escalation above that result in further charges against them? Assault to attempted murder? So, perhaps I'm not understanding you, or just putting my own thoughts into your comments. As you can tell, I'm not an attorney, nor did I stay at any hotel to give me any specialized knowledge. I'm just questioning your comment. I think it shows an intent not proven. BTW...welcome to TGO. We're not all like me.
  8. According to David Michael Lynch...it is a matter of days. Parlar is next.
  9. Yes he did. Right up front about it. No sales talk, almost apologetic as he said it. The man is intense! I've only recently found him, and I'm impressed. He reminds me of Colin Noir.
  10. Not a rifle search. but I've been looking a pistol prices and availability the last few weeks. High prices and low to non-existent stock. Was looking for Taurus38/357 2" revolvers. I never thought with all the Taurus bashing over the last few decades...they would be difficult to find. lol! Well, they aren't extinct yet, but darn close! Went thru my usual sources of info and found a few. Not the models I was looking for, but will do for my purposes. Almost every dealer/distributor has page after page of OUT OF STOCK on the listings. I did put in several notify when in stock notes. Maybe the one(s) I wanted will appear before it's too late. I did find that the Rock Island M206 and the Armscor 200 can be had for a while, but for how long. The only dislike for me is the Colt style cyclinder release on them. Maybe I can get to like it. The SS 4" 22WMR sure looks interesting.
  11. Nah, just a buncha good ol'boys that wuz pizzed off becuzin they tea was too high!
  12. Dan Bongino just posted to FB( at least I just saw it). Asking for people to join Parler. Says it's important to do so. As it will be only a short time before FB starts closing down all who disagree with them. Said more, but that's the core of his message.
  13. Yes, it is. I just watched it again the other day. Somehow, I have to wonder why I thought it was so great back then.
  14. Hmmm. I've heard of it, even ol' Uncle Phil recommends it. Guess I should give it a try.
  15. OK...I'm very slow. I had not thought of doing that. Have you gotten any feedback on it? Has anyone noticed?
  16. I run a count every so often. the first time I did it some years back...I frightened my wife and myself with the total rounds. Then I stepped back and realized that it really wasn't all that high. About 20% was, and still is, 22 and 22 mag. Scatter the rest among the basic pistol calibers that most have, and some rifle and all too few shotgun rounds...it's really not a big number. I've heard people say that you need 1000 rounds to be "prepared". For What? Dedicated shooters will go thru that in a month or less. I've heard that you should have 5000 rounds of your preferred pistol and rifle round. Then again...I've seen photos that just blow that statement away. So what's right? The right number? Your number? Is it that basement/storage room we see shown here sometimes? The one with cases stacked on pallets and against the walls? I can dream can't I? My answer? It's that I can shoot when I want without running out and searching for a box of whatever caliber I need. Is it what I want to have on hand? Is it "enough"? Well...no. I'd much prefer to have the hidden armory buried out in the desert that Arnold/T2 version uncovers before going after Cyberdine Systems. I think that would be enough for me. Maybe.
  17. My thanks to you, ACfixer. Let me explain just a bit. I have been an NRA member since the very early 80's. Always yearly until I could afford the Life fees. Did it a full price, not during one of the specials(though at times I wish I had). My rationale for no further money to the NRA is explained in several other threads. Mostly those to do with Wayne LePierre. His shennigans and exhorbitant lifestyle, not to mention his suit collection. When his reign is over, and a new leadership installed, I, and others, will possibly give more. As far as the incentives to join or renew, I learned very early in my membership, those items were...1 cheap junk just to entice you to give money, and 2, and most repugnant to me, the great majority of it was made in China. Even the multitude of NRA caps I have. I think I have one that wasn't, and it's a prized possession. Not because of the source of manufacture, but because it belonged to my late father-in-law. Until then, the TFA, GOA, 2AF, and others get my small donations. And though it may be late, welcome to the greatest gun forum I know of.
  18. I wish I had the quantity some people think I have. lol Also wish I had the stash that I know some of you have!
  19. Ever read Robert A. Heinlein's "Farnhams Freehold?" Remember the end? Basically it's "Food for books" as the return's message. Maybe we can trade ammo for books, and then trade the books for food. Until then, I'll keep mine...and if possible someday...add more.
  20. Yep...that's about what I thought of it as well. Never could find any incentive for me to shell out more.
  21. Been an NRA Life Member for about 10 years I think. I keep getting the mailings on upgrading to Benefactor Status. could you explain just what it is? Perhaps, I'm just dense, most likely; but I don't get it.
  22. Wow. 2011. You have been lurking for a while. lol I agree with what I think you implied on the G20 thread. It's part of a core, if you will, of many here. Help as we can. Where we can. It's not the only time. Many more examples can be found. I got into TGO as a bit of emotional support; sort of take me away from health issues of mine. It's become a very big part of my existence...for better or worse.
  23. Good question. I'm not terribly fond of wasting my time, except for here(LOL), so I tended to follow your line of thinking. It did get rather "interesting" at times though. But my attempted point is that I agree with you. I get enough trash from the tv. So I'd appreciate the input from some of our more connected guys as well.
  24. Just wondering if there are any of the Taurus Forum members here on TGO? I haven't been there in a couple of years. Reason for asking...I may be offering a few Taurus Semi-autos for sale soon, and it's not in my plans to try and do FFL transfers on them.
  25. Oleg Volk is a fantastic photographer. Check his site at Olegvolk.com for many more examples of his work.
