  1. I got a Rack Grade Colt slide and frame in the 2nd Rd.Very pleased with it.
  2. James Yeager passed away yesterday. He had been battling ALS.
  3. I forgot to suggest the Gerber LST.I think they made them in 2 sizes.
  4. I like 1911s and Glocks equally.I bought my first 1911 in 87 and my first Glock in 90.I have around 4-5 of each at the moment.I’ve owned various DA/SAs and striker fired pistols over the years,I’ve even went down the BHP rabbit hole a couple times but I settled on the 1911 and Glock platforms as my go to pistols.
  5. Check out the MAM knives.Very similar to Opinel except most of them are liner lock and the handles are flat.Light and very sharp.
  6. I when or if this crap settles that’s not the new normal price for primers. I paid $16 for 200 SRP at the last gun show. I remember paying $12 a thousand back in the early 90s when I started reloading.
  7. Or open a mattress store
  8. No name eBay kydex IWB at 2 o’clock.I like the ease of being able to remove it quickly as my job doesn’t allow weapons in the workplace.
  9. The DL renewal used to be easy to remember,it was every 5th birthday,35,40,45,etc. I had thought about getting the lifetime carry permit but the years vs money didn’t add up. I will be doing good to get 2 more renewals.

    Moving ammo

I went through a gun, ammo, reloading component move 2 years ago after the Easter tornado in Chattanooga, then I moved most of it back after the repairs. It was a chore.
  11. No longer in existence but don’t forget Tn’s own Ducktown Derringer company.I heard the owner became a millionaire from the sales and retired, but more likely shut down over lawsuits.
  12. Mass Shooting and Gun Violence are the hot new buzz words for the MSM.
  13. I’ve seen paper weights and even table tops made with old cheap handguns in acrylic resin.

    1911 guide rod

I’ve taken the full length guide rod out of each 1911 I’ve owned that had one.Its a lot easier to take down for cleaning. You would only need a tool if you had bushing fitted to the slide/barrel,you would need a bushing wrench.I have a Springfield that has a Kart barrel and bushing that’s a little snug.
  15. Nice.I didn’t know Case was making knives with S35V
  16. I remember reading in the mid 90s or so about a range that had a Star 30M that had over 30K rds and was still going strong.I owned one,it was built like a tank.

    What’s your EDC

Glock 43x every day for the last 2 years. It’s surprisingly accurate for a compact gun. When I go to the range the first drill I do cold is the Jack Wilson, from concealment draw and fire one rd to the head from 15 yds. I nail it every time.
  18. There was a time when Chattanooga Police went out and conducted round ups of gang members. That was several mayors and police chiefs ago.Today they have a bleeding heart liberal mayor who went and hired a police chief who checks all the boxes.
  19. Oh they wear them but it’s the smart watches
  20. Nice to see Rock River building 1911s again.Thats what they originally did before going down the AR15 rabbit hole. I think the owner worked for Les Baer at one time.
  21. I toss mine in the back yard
  22. Mark Scott at Scott Bookkeeping charges $30 cash. That includes the background check. He does a lot of transfers.
  23. Chattanooga Rifle Club and Oak Ridge Sportsman’s Association (ORSA) have High Power Rifle matches.Info is on their websites.
  24. Of those two choices I would go with the Ruger
  25. I thought I heard he had died years ago, guess not.He lived in North Ga for a while and made the gun show circuit selling his books.I saw him at one in Fort Oglethorpe. He had some odd religious beliefs but didn’t deserve what transpired at Ruby Ridge.
