What gun magazines do you subscribe to?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if there were good run related magazines out there that I might be interested in (not counting the NRA magazines) that are worth the time and money. I don't see as many at the grocery and drug stores anymore.

SWAT. It's the only gun mag I subscribe to, and have since 1988.

I used to subscribe to way too damn many...but the majority turned in to advertisements for high dollar, and questionable, products.

I dropped all of them except SWAT 8 or 9 years ago.

The only other magazine I subscribe to is BackWoodsHome.

Excellent mag, and good enough to keep as a resource.

I used to subscribe to a number of motorcycle and gun mags and I'm down to one of each now that were given to me as gift subscriptions, The gun mag is Guns and Ammo. It is dissappointing at best and every month when I get an issue Im just glad I'm not paying for it. The reason I mentioned the motorcycle mag is I have the same problem with it as I do the gun mags. The content in these things are horrible. It is basically a showcase of new guns, new ammo, articles about reloading oddball rounds. Now and then they will run an article about a new gun I'm interested in and that's nice. But for the most part the whole magazine is just advertising. The articles always seem biased backing the item as the best thing since sliced bread. Oh and can we please get a single issue of G&A without an AR-15 article? I have nothing agaist ARs but I don't find it necessary to have an AR article in every single issue.

what about shotgunnews ? any imput on this one.

I buy that one anytime the gunsmith has a cool project or there's a surplus rifle article that looks worth reading. Otherwise, two or three issues a year will keep you up to date on the same repeat ads.

I dunno. Gun mags have their place but I find it hard to pay for magazines that have glowing reviews for products that I know aren't all they say they are or flat out have problems. Pretty tired of paid advertisments that are misleading.
