No permit required to open carry in Kansas if no municipal ordinance forbids it. Not required by law to show ID just because asked. Just people standing up for a couple of the few rights they have left, comrade. - OS2 points

I'm not down with the harassment of them trying to get the manager to throw these guys out, but why do people carry open and then refuse to show ID and Carry Permits? I'm not saying its bad, but it just seems like you could clear up mess like that a lot faster if you show your permits.2 points

There are times when we are hit with a brick. There are times when God demands our attention. There are instances when the emotions of a moment are too rich. Sometimes, those moments all hit you at the same time. WHY I FIGHT As a Soldier, when I was deployed, I told those close to me that I had resigned my fate. I understood that each time I kissed my wife goodbye, it could be my last. Saying goodbye to my daughter in her crib at 14 months could be the only slightest memory she would have of me. And it was for them, I served my country. The trick is…once you have resigned your fate and after you come back, life is no longer about you. You have to make it about them…it is all there is left. I fight for my children. All five of them who are still here and one who we will see again. And it pisses me off that the America that I inherited as my birthright (24 days after Reagan took his oath of office) is being passed off to my posterity in worse shape than when I received it. I feel a bit like Esau’s son having just discovered that the birthright he so richly deserved was no longer his to hold because his parents had sold it for pittance. That is why the fight we are in, this ideological struggle, is so intense at times. It is so because it is a true battle between two VERY different ideas of what America should look like for our children. So, those who scream for civility on one hand just use “civility and tolerance†as a club to oppose dissent. I believe in rational discourse. But when you are being robbed blind is NOT the time to engage in it. When debate is necessary, I will debate. When dissent is necessary, I will dissent. But when my children are threatened and those we love are hurting…we must fight. Because, my friend, our inalienable rights are worth fighting for. Because we aren’t guaranteed another breath. Because we aren’t guaranteed that the precious gifts God has given us to watch over will awake in the morning. Because there are things more important than US. That is why I fight. But that is also why, this weekend, I am going to hug my children more. Be more patient when they interrupt my writing a blog. Teach them about what this weekend really means beyond the picnics, parties, and parades. BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT REALLY MATTERS (I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments) -In loving memory of those who have come before and those who we will see again when our fight is over- Updated Shares, Thank You!: http://nathanjmartin.wordpress.com/2012/05/26/what-really-matters-the-aftermath-of-brettkimberlin/1 point

Went to the gun show in Chattnooga and a Winchester 1897 12ga pump riot gun followed me home. It was made in 1902 and has had the wood replaced somewhere along the way. Action is very slick. A real Blast From The Past! I will run some rounds thru it in honor of Memorial Day. Thank all you Vets out there for your service.1 point

Wife and I made our way to the Opry Mall last night and as packed as it was there was plenty of officers on hand. BUT! I was very pleased to see that both PD and Mall Security were stopping those with saggy pants and asking them to PULL THEM UP OR LEAVE! We saw this not once but 3 time while walking around. Of course the persons they stopped gave the "mans holding me down" speech and as they passed us had some choice words for the officers but you could still see that they understood that PD was not going to take ANY crap and that the mall security has plans to keep this mall a family place where they can feel safe at unlike Rivergate, coolsprings, and I really wanted to tell those kids and few adults to just go back to Hickory Hollow!1 point

Sorry, perhaps sheeple is more appropriate? Point is, if you open carry, you make a point every time you do it, and most open carriers are somewhat activist about it. Might as well take it to the legal limit each time. Or just conceal carry and not have to deal with the public or cops at all, which is my preferred MO. I don't want a positive open carry experience, don't want to convert anyone, don't even want to talk about 2A or TCA. I want no interaction with the public at all that happens because I'm packing heat. If I did, I'd open carry. - OS1 point

Drop the paramedic gig and become a cop. You get to carry a gun all the time, and the adrenalin level is off the chart.1 point

DM Bullard is the only custom leather holster I've owned. It was excellent! I had the bodygaurd, worn about 4 O'clock. I sold it with the gun as it wouldn't fit anything else. I will own another soon. He now has a lot of "In Stock" holster that ship immediately. Others take 16-20 weeks1 point

That was terrible. the targets were too small, there were too many of them, they moved too much, I missed too much, I shot way too much ammo.It was hot. When can we do it again? Seriously, great match Michael!1 point

Amen brother. The two greatest shotgun designs ever created were the Winscheser '97 (...which i love and cant stand to be without!!!...) and the Browning Auto 5 (...which i can never find just like i like at the price i like...). It's great that these two pinnacles of shotgundom were invented by the same man who gave us the 1911. It is very fitting that crossfire fire the "97 riot in honor of Armistice Day. The '97 did a lot to cause the Armistice to happen. Now to find some great black powder loads for the firing!! Keep up the good work! lerroy1 point

I own an early 1970's 6" M-27 and have owned a 5" and 8 3/8 " as well, I prefer the 6" model. A TGO member has (?) a 4" M-28 listed which is a sweet heart of a 357 Magnum field gun to own and shoot, it's also easier to find holster's for as well. I'm a S&W N frame fan and consider it the best platform for the 357.1 point

Pretty uneventful. Someone called the Police (who knows what they said), they came, checked it out and left. The only time you hear an Officer speak he is calm and respectful. Of course if you title it “16 Open Carriers vs Several Police Officers!†(Which is not what happened) you will up your YouTube hit count. When you do something out of the ordinary people will call the Police. And when people call the Police; the Police will show up. If the call goes out as guns involved, usually any cops in the area that are free are going to show up. I would have shown my ID and told the Officer I’m sorry he had to be bothered with this; apparently someone got scared. He probably would have responded with “No problem, we got a call and had to check it out; thanks for your cooperation.â€1 point

Speeding is a crime is it not? If so, how can you face your "accuser" if your accuser is a computer tied to a camera? Law enforcemetn is something law enforcement officers (i.e. human beings) should do, not machines. Maybe I'd feel diffenrently if I wasn't sure that these things have ZERO to do with "safety" or "law enforcement" and 100% to do with revenue generation (but I doubt it )!1 point

I would love to see some sort of indelible ink mark applied to those that voted. It would eliminate 90% of the fraud that goes on. I would also like to do away with any and all forms of absentee voting. All voting must be done in person because if a person is that worried about who they are voting for they can at least show up in person. For military they would vote just like everyone else, in person. Voting while abroad might have been an issue 30 years ago but now with everything being instant because of modern communications there is no need to fill out a form then mail it in. Most voting machines are electronic anymore anyways so instant counting is easy. Something else I would like to see is voting times extended to 24 hours. And all polls across the nation open and close at the exact same time. There is no excuse as to why they couldn't make it in person within 24 hours. And for that day make all public transportation free. Make all voting machines electronic and make the results available instantly. That is when one person casts their vote it will be visible in the on going tally before they even exit the booth. And the presidential tally will not be part of a precinct or a regional result but will be part of a national tally. The presidential tally needs to be displayed live on public television for the 24 hours that the polls are open. And the winner will be obvious within minutes of all the polls closing. No more waiting and counting results for hours because they just allows those who are corrupt to alter the results. I also believe anyone that has no reportable income and is on welfare or public assistance, other than unemployment, should not be allowed to vote. Only those who actually contribute to the system should be allowed to vote to make changes to that system. On top of that I do believe that those who have paid all their debts to society for their crime(s) should be allowed to vote. But if they are still on probation, parole or on a sex offender registry should not be allowed to vote. And finally, anyone who has ever been convicted of voter fraud should be barred from ever voting again regardless if they have paid all their debts or not. It is a sad state of affairs when the winner of American Idol had more votes than any president in history. And I know that those who vote on American Idol winners can vote more than once but that is also the case with our political elections any more. Dolomite1 point

I see the race problem to be a symptom of a much larger problem. America is being divided: Black vs White Men vs Women Christian vs Non Christian Gay vs Straight Producers vs Takers Civilized Humans vs Envromentalists Ford vs Chevy... You can go on for hours with the list. The thing is that a united people aren't as easy to control and manipulate as a people fighting mongst themselves.1 point

Yep, and that goes for those 'in power' on both sides of the aisle as well as behind the scenes. It goes for many of those with political power as well as at least some big money corporate leaders. As long as those who are 'in power' - be they Democrats, Republicans or whatever, be they black, white, red, brown, yellow or some combination thereof - can keep average Americans hating each other over stupid things like the amount of pigment in the skin then those same average Americans - meaning an overwhelming majority of Americans - will never ban together to oppose those very people who are 'in power', the very ones who are REALLY screwing the rest of us over. I have more in common with a black man who gets up and goes to work every day than either of us have in common with Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Warren Buffet, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton or leaders of the Aryan movement or the KKK. As long as people are swayed by meaningless BS, however, they cannot and will not unite against the real threats to our liberty and happiness.1 point

All those who are on welfare and gov't programs longterm have allowed themselves to be enslaved. They are given a small amount of money in exchange for them not wanting to succeed or better themselves. Then those same people compain and lash out against those who have worked hard to reach a certain sucess level. If they want to be upset they should be upset with themselves for not trying to succeed. It amazes me how people will settle for nothing so long as they don't have to work for it. I see people living in 1/2 burned trailers and they are content so long as they do not have to work. They cover the burned out portion with a blue tarp and call it good. I give you a personal example I just learned about. My brother, who is or maybe was a heavy drug user, recently came out of treatment. They offered to send him to a trade school for free. He has always been a great welder. A friend asked my brother why didn;t he want to go and get trained and become a welder. My borther said because he would loose his $637 a month in benefits he receives. To anyone who knows how much a professional welder makes then you see the problem. But this is the mentality of a lot of people receiving benefits. They are content so long as they don't have to work. My brother has been given the same opportunities, actually more, than me but he chose to go the route that is now the easiest. The "race war" isn't going to be about race. It is going to be about the "have nots" taking from the "haves". It just so happens that the majority of the "have nots" are minorities so it appears to be racially divided. And it will start when the "haves" cannot afford to continue the funding for the "have nots". At that point the gov't will announce that the "haves" are not working or contributing enough to support the "have nots" so they will begin taking what they feel is their's. I suspect this will happen when the unemployment teet runs dry, we came close already. On a side not did anyone see the DOL requirements to prove work searches? Also, those on unemployment must physically show up at the offices with proof in order to continue to receive benefits. Dolomite1 point

I'm glad that someone has decided to maintain some standards! It's private property and they can mandate dresses and ties if they want! I remind the kids of what low, baggy pants really means! In prison, those low pants without a belt are a sign that you are someone's 'bitch'. It provides easy access for the Master and whoever else he allows to ride his bitch. So, instead of showing that you are a mean, mother****, it just shows that you were somebody else's sexual toy in prison. That usually gets them to pull up their pants.1 point
