Humm...I wonder if perhaps TGO needs to establish a policy that no one is allowed start a thread or post immediately upon joining the forum or that the fist "X" number of posts must be approved by a Mod before being visible??? I've nothing specific against the "petition" above (I don't really know anything about it other than the post) but it just rubs me the wrong way to have someone from Colorado join just for the purpose of posting a link to a petition.

As a banker I have has situations were a husband dies but whoever signed that note with them is still responsible. Even if someone didn't sign for it, if there was collateral you would have no choice but to collect on that collateral if someone didn't take care of the note. If there was no collateral you would have to file a lean against the estate. I'm sorry but bankers can't give money away. I have student loans, if in the case that I pass away there is enough life insurance to cover my debt. People just need to be more financially responsible. I truly believe that the loan provider should not be pressured into forgiving this loan because of pressure from idiots that don't like to pay bills. I fell very sorry for the pain that this young man's death has caused to the family, but they signed a contract that has to be up held.

I agree. They should loose their clearances as well as their job if they hold a government job. If they signed it as a military member then they should be booted out under dishonorable conditions. If you signed the petition then, to me, you have denounced your willingness to remain a citizen of the United States. If you think the US is so bad that you feel you need to leave through secession then you probably need to go ahead and leave the country anyways. I have heard Fox news reference factcheck.org. Heard it after every debate when they cited factcheck over things Romney claimed. Just because they aren't verifying what you want to believe does not make it less truthful. I have a hard time believing that you 6.8 are drawn into it based on the link in the original post. I gotta trust my Occams razor instinct here. I also believe 2A is about all the Homeland Security we need here.

Well, I'm proud to say my 26 yr old son is a strong-right-leaning-conservative and so is most of his friends. My wife and I won't take all the credit, his private education in a Christian school may have also had something to do with it.

Huh, that doesn't sound good. If it's any consolation though, they couldn't get their act together for any natural disaster so imagine them trying to bring in these "youth army people."

There are no rights that are absolute nor did the founders say there were; they specifically allowed for any of our rights, even the right to life can be taken away with due process. What should not happen is for politicians to exert power to infringe or discard rights without due process but that is exactly what we have allowed to happen (and in fact, many, like Sara Brady, have asked for).

If memory serves, isn't CA one of the states that has federal bailout money in its budget as a revenue item doesn't it (and I don't think they budget is balanced even then)? As far as I'm concerned, these people are getting exactly what they deserve when reality finally starts catching up with them...unfortunately, they are going to try and make everyone else pay for their inability to run their state properly.

When my dad died a few months ago he left behind a lot of debt and not enough life insurance to cover it all. So we're liquidating a lot of the estate to cover it. No one's forgiving those loans and we sure as hell didn't expect them to or ask them to. Life sucks sometimes.

Irregardless of how a game plays out in Miami, Notre Dame has already been the big winner this season. No one saw them going unbeaten this year. The boost to recruiting will be immeasurable. 12-0 or 12-1 really doesn't matter. It would be awesome to go 13-0, but either way the next chapter in the Irish legacy is already written. All that remains to be added is a post script. Kelly has shown repeatedly in his coaching career how to build a contender. And don't forget history. The last four coaches who have won national championships at ND did so in their third year. Kelly is in his third year. And also let's don't forget Lee Corso picked ND to win it all. That guy is never wrong.

Just when I started to hate cops, they go and do that. I am sure that police do these acts of kindness alot more than anyone will ever know, they just dont film it.

If he liked Cookeville, why not go to school there? It's a great school, typically near the top of the "bang for your buck" lists (not that I'm biased or anything).

Most of my RC's are nitromethane powered so I am not an expert on electric RC's, but if you are wanting an electric that can handle driving through grass and stuff you will probably want to look into LIPO powered electrics, preferably with "brushless" motors in them, they are a bit more expensive but they have a lot more power than standard electric RC's do.

What I do to figure out the maximum range is set the target up at 50 yards. The target you use should be the same size as the intended target. I start by shooting a single shot at 10 yards. I fire then I count and mark my hits on target. Then I move back to 15 yards and shoot again. Then to 20 yards. Once I miss the target with at least one pellet I consider that as the maximum effective range. At least for self defense purposes. Dolomite

I used to fly a LOT for work. Typically 2-3 flights per week. I had to carry tools for work that included small screwdrivers, wire snips, etc. It is very easy to be in a rush to make a flight and forget about the small wire snips in your pocket. Or the Leatherman on your belt. Or the deodorant in a non-TSA-approved size that you had to buy when you ran out. Or the $300 multimeter that TSA refuses to allow on the plane. Theft is theft. And a government search and seizure without a warrant is theft. I'll repeat again that we were safer on airlines BEFORE the Feds got involved in airline security. Before 1968 there were NO hijackings or terrorist attacks on US airliners. Pilots were REQUESTED to carry pistols, and passengers were just asked not to have loaded weapons on the planes. Other countries had hijackings and attacks, but not on US planes. Then the Feds got involved and ensured that passengers and pilots were unarmed, and almost immediately US airliners started to be hijacked and attacked.
