  1. I just got the phone call this evening that I got the job blacksmithing at Falling Creek boys camp from May-Aug. It was a job I was really hoping for, pays decent and lets me teach the next generation blacksmithing on a larger scale. Just wanted to share the info.

  2.   TMF, anti-gun politicians don't care about the accuracy of their statistics or whether or not their "advice" is realistic (see just about everything Joe Biden has said about guns for a perfect example). If they did they would acknowledge the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics' word on this.    Percent of people injured during a robbery and resisting with a knife: 40.3% Percent of people injured during an assault and resisting with a knife: 29.5% Percent of people injured using non-violent resistance during a robbery: 35.9% Percent of people injured using non-violent resistance during an assault: 25.5% Percent of people injured doing nothing during a robbery: 24.7% Percent of people injured doing nothing during an assault: 27.3% Percent of people injured resisting with a gun during a robbery: 17.4% Percent of people injured resisting with a gun during an assault: 12.1%

It appears to me Feinstein exhibits paranoid delusional behavior.  I would suggest she is the one suffering from mental illness and should be prohibited from holding any public office and certainly should be banned from participating in the introduction of any legislation.  She also may be affected by PTSD.  Practically Total Stupidity Disorder.

  7. Taking a friend to the Fighting Pistol class at Tactical Response on the 18-19 of March. My second time, his first. I highly recommend saving for a course like this instead of a 6-8 hour class indoors elsewhere. Not implying the training is any less valuable with a different company. I think that environment really adds to the training when you aren't restricted to what you may only be "allowed" to do indoors.

Rifle or Shotgun, 39-17-1307 (e)  (1) It is an exception to the application of subsection (a) that a person authorized to carry a handgun pursuant to § 39-17-1351 is transporting a rifle or shotgun in or on a privately-owned motor vehicle and the rifle or shotgun does not have ammunition in the chamber. 13. Jsut read this. Don't know if anyone else posted it. We need to call our senators to keep this bill moving. There is still hope Action Alert: Call Sen. Stevens to Dislodge SB 250 Out of Committee Posted by Lesley Swann Sen. John Stevens After the tie vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee on February 27, SB 250 remains stuck in that committee. It is still alive, but won’t move unless Tennesseans mobilize to get it dislodged for a second committee vote. Watch the full committee meeting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vbcm5Uy0iTc SB 250 is a bill that is critical to protecting the firearms rights of Tennesseans against a federal gun control scheme. The key to bringing the bill up for a second vote is Sen. John Stevens. He was one of the “nay” votes on the bill, but we need to pressure him specifically to support bringing the bill for a second vote. Please contact him now to encourage him to support a second vote on SB 250, as well as to change his vote to “yea.” Phone calls will have much more impact than emails, but do both if you can. Remember to be polite but firm in your communications with Sen. Stevens’ office. Sen. John Stevens: Republican, District 24 310A WMB, (615) 741-4576, sen.john.stevens@capitol.tn.gov We are also counting on continued support from these Senators who supported the bill in committee. Thank them for their support of SB 250 and encourage them to continue their support by doing what they can to get the bill up for a second vote. Remember that these senators are friendly to our cause, so please be courteous. Sen. Mike Bell: Republican, District 9 6A LP, (615) 741-1946, sen.mike.bell@capitol.tn.gov Sen. Stacey Campfield: Republican, District 7 4 LP, (615) 741-1766, sen.stacey.campfield@capitol.tn.gov Sen. Todd Gardenhire: Republican, District 10 305 WMB, (615) 741-6682, sen.todd.gardenhire@capitol.tn.gov Sen. Mark Green: Republican, District 22 11A LP, (615) 741-2374, sen.mark.green@capitol.tn.gov

  14. We don't care for soldiers here in Clarksville!   Yep, as an inmate that's what I was told by a couple of jailers at the Clarksville, TN. Jail house. I sure hope times have changed and they treat their returning veterans better than when I was there in 1973. The Clarksville PD made prey of the Ft. Campbell soldiers and that's an undisputed fact by people who served at Ft. Campbell back in that era. I'm still bitter and always bi-pass that hell hole when I have to travel that way.   It's my experience all military towns and law enforcement resent military personnel and are out to take advantage of them financially and berate them.   One of numerous examples: In 1973 I recently returned from my second combat tour in Viet Nam and was assigned to Ft. Campbell, KY. after my 30 day leave. Due to my rank I immediately rented an apartment somewhere outside of Erin, TN.   One morning I was running late to make 6:00 A.M. formation, and as any military man knows, it's not good to miss or be late to muster! So, to try and make muster on time, the ole Camero exceeded the posted speed limit on the backwoods country roads. At that time of the morning and in BFE ain't going to be any cops and I can make up some time... WRONG!   Got pulled over and a citation issued, maybe 15-20 MPH over the limit. O.K., no big deal, life goes on and I'll deal with it when the time comes. Guilty as sin of speeding! I think I'll try and beat the ticket because money is money after all and I've sure earned mine and want to keep as much of it as possible. So, instead of sending in the payment for the ticket, I decide to try and fight it in court by myself as a 21 year old. Stupid is as stupid does at that age?   Court day at the Clarksville, TN. Courthouse: After waiting an eternity I plead my meager case... GUILTY as charged says the judge, step over to the collection window and pay your fine.   Darn, I tried anyway, oh well lets get this done with and go get a decent meal at the mess hall because I'm starved. It's my turn at the collection window and I whip out my checkbook to write a check to pay my fine. The gal behind the collection window almost panics and immediately calls over a deputy of some sort before she says anything. She informs me they do NOT take personal checks, cash ONLY. I said, “O.K., I'll be right back, I'll run to (Plantation Bank?) on base and will be right back and pay it.   The ticket had no printed mention of payment methods what-so-ever, front or back as I checked.   No. No. No. You can't go anywhere if you can't pay the fine in cash, you're under arrest! That “deputy” handcuffed me and took me to jail and booked me in. Long story short, I walked down the chow line and got my paper plate, my plastic spoon, my small can of Veinnia sausages, little can of fruit, small bag of potato chips, two pieces of bread and a small carton of milk. Not the Army mess chow I had my mind set on. In reflection, Army food ain't that bad compared to jail food!   Talking to a couple of the jailers after “dinner”, they told me about my status. Unless someone came down and paid my fine in cash, tomorrow morning I was assigned to the chain gang and hard labor. I was assigned a cell and permitted one phone call shortly after that. One of the jailers made a remark to me, “we don't much care for you soldier boys” and his partner shaking his head up and down in agreement.   Many years later they came out with them “Rambo” movies and I said, hey, I can relate to that!   Fortunately, I called the C.Q. and he called my First Sergeant and he came down and bailed me out. I was so embarrassed and ready for an Article 15 or something. I apologized to “Top” and he laughed if off. Everyone’s out to get the serviceman!   I found that true throughout my twenty year career. I sincerely hope things have changed for the sake of our current military personnel.

  16.   Not exactly. Unlike Tennessee, the New York State Supreme Court is NOT the highest court in the state. Above it are the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, and above everyone else is the New York Court of Appeals, which is the highest court in NY.. So there are at least two more levels of judicial review above the State Supreme Court. If the NYSC tosses it out, you can bet your bottom dollar that it WILL be taken to the next appellate level. The Cuomo-bots are not going to give in easily when they are so close to tyrannical success.

  18. this is the reason obahma involved the cdc in gun legislation. it will get to the point that nobody is mentally stable enough to own a gun. they will say the very fact a person wants a gun is proof they are mentally unstable. i feel this is the greatest danger to our second amendment.

  21. Come on guys, this is not gossip central, let's take this for what it was a horrible event and not some love triangle gone bad. The article says she works for a firearms manufacturer, maybe she is in pr, and they were smoozing Rodriguez to put his name on a hunting rifle or an endirsement deal? A little unusual to be at a residence, but maybe they were trying the homey feel. In any case, 3 children have lost their fathers over this. And regardless of if it was a mistaken jealous rage, or legit jealousy, no woman is worth your life or anyone else's.

  26. Yes the economy is not doing well, but how do you explain that crime is at an all time low?  And it would go a lot lower if we'd get rid of the war on drugs.   Cities that have reduced the number of police officers have not seen an increase in violent crime.   SWAT teams are largely used to serve warrants on non-violent offenses now, instead of what they were designed to do 30 years ago.   And why exactly does a police department need automatic rifles and an APC?   Frankly we could cut the police department in half, do away with unconstitutional laws and prohibitions and the vasdt majority of us wouldn't notice the difference.

  27. Aw man....if that was me, I'd have grabbed my AR-15 with NV ACOG, my backup MP-5 with a silencer, put on my 5.11 gloves, vest and kevlar helmet and swept the house to dispatch the opfor with extreme prejudice. I'd have proceeded to clear the attic, the crawl space, and the backyard shed using tactical moves I learned playing COD Black Ops. It's totally like the real thing. It's what the Army uses to train their people now, just on bigger screens. My buddy's a SEAL Team VI member and he said it's true. I'm glad I didn't get the HBAR on my AR-15. Those are no good for clearing rooms.   J/K.     Seriously though, you did the exact right thing. You had a good position with your family behind you and the cops on the way. No reason to risk getting yourself shot, or having to deal with the aftermath of even a justified SD shooting if you don't absolutely have to.

  29. If you've never had formal training, I'd definitely suggest a two-day type class to get started.  There is certainly a cost difference, but it's worth it.   You will be exposed to more than you can possibly absorb during the first few hours of that first day - regardless of whether it's a one or two day class.  Having the soak time of that evening lets you come back that second day really ready to work again.

  30. A lot of this is post Civil War, when the recently mustered-out United States Colored Troops (USCT) began returning to their states with .58 caliber rifle-muskets and the skill to use them. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas outlines the process in detail in a well-footnoted, scholarly concurring statement in one of the high profile Supreme Court Second Amendment Cases. It is available online, and I might be able to dig it out later.   I think it's in:   http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/09pdf/08-1521.pdf     Edit:   Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas' Concurrence in McDonald v. 31. In the end the choice is yours.   Soft lead has causes a few problems: what seems to happen is leading in the barrel builds up a blockage, and then a jacketed bullet is used without cleaning the gun, and the blockage is enough to over-pressure, which is very bad.   I used lead in my glock for a while, and had no trouble, but being aware of the issue I kept an eye on it and always deep cleaned the barrel afterwards, and the lead I was using was not super soft.   I have shot nearly 2k rounds of lead through my makarov, which has the same type of barrel as the glock, again with zero issues.     So, basically, you *can* do it safely, but you need to keep a weather eye on the gun, clean it often, and never follow lead reloads with jacketed rounds without an inspection between.   That is probably good advice for any type of gun, but it is extremely important for poly barrels.   It is up to you.  There IS a risk, so I am not recommending you use lead at all, but IMHO if you wanted to, you could do so safely.

  34.   Yes...let us pretend for a moment that there was no "negligence" here at all. Lets pretend that this guy had the baby in a crib in the living room, went to get a glass of water, and then came back into the darkened living room. Since the baby had got out of the crib and crawled across the floor, he didn't see her. Glass of water in one hand and chips in the other, he cannot catch himself as he trips onto the baby. Unarguably 100% tragic, arguably 100% accident.   How do you go from that to "I don't really know what's wrong with her but she hasn't moved in a while. Here she is. Gotta go!". Any caring person would be calling the emergency services immediately.

  41. I would not approach them with an exposed weapon. Too easy for things to escalate or for them to say you pointed at them. Even on your own property it is aggravated assault if you point a firearm at them unless you have justification and someone sitting at the end of your drive isn't.

  42. If they pull into your driveway they are on private property. Call the cops then walk out to greet them to hold them there if they will stay. You cannot force them to stay but chit chat might hold them there. And if they leave at least they know you are aware of your surroundings. But if they stay have the cops trespass them from your property. If they come back and enter you property again they can be arrested. I know I have walked down my dead end road to see why someone is parked along it. It is not against the law to ask if they are looking for someone or something. Dolomite

  45. A President can't order the killing of an American citizen without violating the 5th amendment of the constitution.  An individual solider or police officer can use self defense or defense of a third party.   An elected leader ordering the killing of another citizen with no due process is simply murder in all circumstances.

And well worth the time and money.   There is a huge difference between shooting and learning to think outside the box as it relates to defensive skills (as I'm sure you already know). Randy will move you in the right direction.   Careful though...it can be addictive. :pleased:   As a disclaimer: I've trained with Gabe, and I've trained beside Randy and shot with him (been a while unfortunately), but definitely plan on taking a course from him...hopefully this year.   :2cents:
