  1. Pardon me for not writing another four paragraph response covering the exact same #### that's already been said by me and others in the thread, thus saving you the time and bother of reading for yourself. Get the sand out of your crack before you post nonsense like that again. No one's here to hold your hand and tell you how awesome you are for asking shit that's already been answered.

  2.   Man, I'm just a guy with a passion for firearms, the Second Amendment, the Constitution in general and America as a whole.  I've also got a really low tolerance for bullsh@t and never claimed to be a people-person.  People looking for a warm and fuzzy "customer experience" are barking up the wrong tree if they expect that from me.   Life's too short to pat insufferable people on the head and tell them how great they are just so they'll like you in return.   But I am fun at parties.

  3. I know one thing. This definitely won't be the last time we see a run on ammo and magazines. I'm going to make sure I'm set for life on magazines for all my guns.

  6.   I tried, on this forum, to raise concern about an Obama second term in relation to gun control legislation (not to mention the Supreme Court) but there were still more than a few folks here who said they were not going to vote for Romney because he wasn't any better on gun control (he was the only candidate who had already voted for an AWB; totally ignoring Obama's record in Illinois) or Romney wasn't "this' or wasn't "that". I'm not saying that is why we wound up with Obama in a second term again but my point is that however weak Romney might have been on gun control issues I seriously doubt we would have seen a push from the White House for new gun control either such as we've seen since Sandy Hook.   All Obama needed was an excuse and Sandy Hook provided that in spades.   You are right, however..if liberals retain control of the Senate and get control of the House you can kiss whatever few liberties we have left "good-by"...we'll be wishing for the days when we only had to fight Obamacare.

  7. I'm done with unsafe drivers tailgating me. I used to brake check them, but now that I have kids I slow down to about 10mph below the posted speed limit. Near my home there are several winding roads where it is impossible to pass or pull over. If folks want to drive in an unsafe manner then I'm going to adjust my speed to reduce risk. The last guy I did this to about had an aneurism as I watched in the rear view. To me I just don't understand it. Riding my ass will not cause me to break the law and go faster. It will only piss me off and look for ways to undermine your ability to get to where you're going.

  15. Rant on... City and residential streets...yes...speed limit or less; there is no excuse for speeding or unsafe driving on those streets. Interstate/multi-lane highways; there is ZERO reason to be in the passing lane unless you are passing (that's why they call it that - in some states you can be ticketed for not yielding and moving over out of the passing lane). I'm not suggesting that is justifies someone else getting their hackles up to the point of looking for a fight but it shouldn't be difficult to understand why not getting over (when you can) is going to piss off other people.   Two of the things I find most irritating here (in TN) compared to other states I live in is... 1. almost habitual running of red lights, and 2. drivers purposely just "sitting" in the passing" even when there is no other traffic around them at all (in other words, just because they are too damn lazy or stupid to move over). Rant off

  16.   I take a similar tact.  Residential areas, I'm pretty strict on the speed limit.  Around town and on the interstate, I push it a bit.  If someone is riding my butt, I find the speed limit and set my cruise, relax and enjoy the ride.  :0)  I don't even worry about how pissed the idiot behind me is getting.  It's satisfying, really.

I don't expect stripped lowers to get that cheap for a while an you get the added bonus of having the logo of this great forum on it. We are all here because of the great group of people on here an I am excited to show off a TGO AR.

  22. Now that gun control has been shot down for the time being, I've been saving up for just such an occasion. These fools who bought up all the ammo and reloading supplies will soon have credit card bills coming due, and I'm not showing them any mercy!

  29.   Never mind, I see the 60 vote was a procedural deal so all amendments could be voted on one after another, without debate for each one. Conventional way would have only required 51 votes for each, but could have drug out for weeks.   I was wrong about it being "cloture" at this point. This explains it well for anyone else who didn't quite grok it:   http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2013/04/17/the-gun-amendments-need-60-votes-to-pass-but-why/   And as far as the whole background check thing apparently shot down, at least for the rest of this calendar year, let me say I've never been happier to have been wrong!!   - OS

  34. I have too many "other driver" pet peeves and y'all covered most of them, but maybe someone can tell me why holding a phone to one's ear makes idiots drive 10 miles slower than the flow of traffic?   One more...I was driving home from Franklin yesterday on a curvy, hilly, narrow road and found traffic putting along at 20 mph as far as the eye could see. As some turned off or passed, I found the problem. Some jackass in shiny underwear and a space helmet is riding a $1200 bicycle in commuter traffic on what could be the most dangerous road in all of Williamson county (Clovercroft Rd b/w Cool Springs Blvd and Wilson Pike). I found myself wishing this self-absorbed prick would hit a bump and disappear down the low shoulder.

  35. You're making the assumption here that we're talking about multi lane roads. I don't go on the interstate and block traffic by hanging out in the passing lane. If someone gets on my ass I'm reducing speed until they pass of back off. If you're the type of person that is bothered by that, too effing bad. If you feel like that is escalating the situation too effing bad. I don't have to be subjected to unsafe driving tactics if I don't want. Being rear ended at 20 mph by a tailgater is better than being hit at higher speeds. I don't see how reducing speed somehow creates an unsafe situation unless the individual decides to so something violent, but I can't control the actions of others and whether or not they decide to break the law; that is for them to decide and me to react to.

  36.   Congratulations, my friend. He stands corrected, we are putting her through her paces here shortly. Will report back with a range report.   Lock + Load!

  37.     Heh... I do it for entertainment.  Watching them go completely bonkers in the rear view is hilarious.    And yes, I make and effort to keep up with the traffic and will get out of the way when practical.  But when there's 20 cars stacked up in front of me and nobody's going anywhere, riding my arse isn't gonna help.  If you're in such a damn hurry, you should've left 10 minutes earlier.  Not my problem.   The best thing ever... and I've had this happen twice.... is toot the horn and wave when they're pulled over a few miles after finally roaring past.  I feel kinda bad that the cop has to deal with a pissed off moron, but maybe I'll get to watch the dash cam video on "Cops" later.  :)   And the above instances clearly illustrate, an armed society is a polite society.

  39. I was inspecting a foreclosure a couple of years back. I was inside on the second floor working on a repair list...clipboard in hand and Sig on the hip. I always OC when I look at foreclosures. So anyway I hear this big noise and I step out of the bedroom into the hall and there's 2 fellas running up the steps and when they see me they start hollering...GD this and GD that. I just stepped back and transferred the clipboard to my left hand and since they had stopped a reasonable distance from me I just let them holler. Went on a couple of minutes until the guy in front (ex homeowner) sees the Sig. He was the nicest guy after that.

  41. Did he change his whole demeanor once he seen your gun? I would think it got a bit calmer and deescalated once he seen the gun?     TBH... sometimes I get soo stinking mad at people how they drive and act (texting is one of them)that I can understand people get roadrage. Not saying its ok but there are days I would love to drive a Abrahams tank into people..:(

  43. The first thing I thought of, while watching the video was that guy in Belle Meade, TN - carrying a gun, in his hand, when he said "I do not give my consent for you to search my wallet" about 3 times. Sorta makes me wonder if he wasn't trying to prove a point.   The "perp" (the veteran) said he had numerous tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and the cop asked what he would do there, the guy said, man this isn't Afghanistan. But think about this, that could have been as much or more "action" the cop had ever seen in Temple, Texas, or he may have just been shot at the day before. A solder is quite used to being around other armed folks, with slung riffles. It would make me uncomfortable to be around guys that I didn't know like this!   I do think that if the officer was afraid that something may have happened he should have drawn his weapon and ordered the person to disarm. A) we didn't see the entire thing, B ) we do not know what exactly had transpired. I don't think it was handled appropriately but I'm not sure what the best approach, in a situation like this, would be and truly hope to never be in a situation anything like this!

  44. Craziness! I may get in on the air rifles y'all have been talkin about in the other thread :) I have enough .22 for my daughter to shoot all she wants to, and that's all I'm worried about for now. But I may get a lil .177 or .22 cal gun to tinker with and save all of the "rare" stuff.

  45. In the words of the immortal Lewis Grizzard, "it's a trick General Sherman, there's two of 'em!" It's a ruse that both parties are in on - whether they realize it or not. It gives some credence to the old saying that if voting actually mattered they'd have outlawed it already.

  46.     They are glass half full kinda guys but in my opinion, the correct answer to your question is as follows.  Depending on where you live, nothing.  Most of the state does not have any law on the books for knives.  Less than 5 local governments that I know of have something on the books.  So for the majority of this state, the answer is NOTHING.         But don't let that detract from the overall progress that was made.  At the very least, we found out who the opposition is and will be better prepared next year.   And by the way, saying "next year" hurts my soul a little.

  50. They could give a rat's hind end about how CRIMINALS would react, they are only concerned about how they keep a rope on the legal, law abiding citizen.  If they can control us, they have achieved their goal.   Government can not survive without criminals, they then would have no need for prosecutors, defense attorneys and Police, would cut way back on money and unions to control.
