Sales tax only has to be paid once.  So long as you're paying tax when you buy this stuff to turn around and sell it again, you should not collect sales tax from the person buying it from you.   Sooner or later the BATFE is going to get involved in this practice and the rest of us are going to suffer as a result of it.  Currently buying a firearm to flip a firearm is illegal.  It's only a matter of time that they make it the same for ammo, and likely because of opportunistic weasels who are cleaning out retailers to sell it again at a mark-up.   Honestly, I think what you're doing is beyond unscrupulous.  People like you make it hard for others to buy ammo at realistic, fair-market prices, for the sake of protecting themselves or training regularly to be better at it.  You're not buying and selling a commodity, you're buying and selling a means of self defense at a marked-up price because you happen to be able to haunt the retail locations and clean them out while other people are attending to other things.  In this case I am torn between not wanting the government any more involved in Second Amendment issues than they already are, and wanting to see them clean your clock.   The road to hell is certainly paved with nickels and dimes.

I have been a member here for over 3 years, not as long as many Im sure. One thing I have learned is that it is a close knit family that has lots to offer. From time to time there is a young whipper snapper that thinks he can come in and disrupt the family. They never last long. But understand this BCR#1, I and many others have that "ole timers" back. Charlie puts on a tremendous show. I've been able to see him perform live several times in the last or so years and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time.   And you just have to admire a man of conviction that is not afraid to voice his beliefs publicly as well as privately.

I recently emailed my Senator's and Representative to express my thoughts on the US not getting involved in Syria militarily.   This was one response.  I found his last sentence in the second paragraph to be interesting.   Dear Mike .357,   Thanks very much for getting in touch with me and letting me know what’s on your mind regarding the conflict in Syria.   I disagree with the president’s proposal for a military strike against Syria and would vote against authorizing the use of force. I see too much risk that a strike will do more harm than good by setting off a chain of consequences that could involve American fighting men and women in another long-term Middle East conflict. I believe it is more consistent with our national security interests for the president to pursue a diplomatic solution that demonstrates our disgust with and discourages further use of chemical weapons in Syria, and that includes exploring with appropriate skepticism the Russian proposal.   I’m grateful you took the time to let me know where you stand.  I’ll be sure to keep your comments in mind as this important issue is discussed and debated in Washington and in Tennessee.   Sincerely, Lamar

We vacuum pack and freeze a fair amount. Mostly meat. I smoke as much as my smoker will hold, we divide it into dinner and lunch portions and freeze away. No more cooking dinner during the week. Thaw out a meat, slap together a salad and we are done. I cant believe I've saved so much money on lunch. That money alone has funded several firearms purchases It was either start canning or buy another freezer. So, we did both... 27 pints of salsa last weekend. Didn't start out intending to can a lifetime supply, just ended up there... Mark

Although he is not required to pay sales tax on ammo bought inside TN he MUST pay a "Use Tax" on everything bought and shipped to Tennessee. On top of this he must also report every red cent he makes that is profit and pay income tax on it.   I also wonder how he is able to get the ammo from local stores so readily, maybe he doesn't have a job or maybe he is on disability. And if he is on some sort of disability because he cannot work I would be willing to bet Social Security would be very, very interested in someone who is in fact able to make money AND collect benefits.   I wonder how many Benton Jones' there are in the Chattanooga area.   It is his right to do everything he is doing as long as he is following the rules the rest of us have to follow. I know I detest paying taxes but I do so because I have to pay my fair share. But when others are not paying at all or not paying their fair share they should be held accountable. And every time he buys from out of state he MUST, as in it is required by law, for him to pay a "Use Tax". I'm really happy to see that Morse guy go. He is the one who said gun owners are a "sickness in our souls" on the Colorado Senate floor. Then he tried to sue to have an ad of him saying that blocked during the run up to the recall election.   I love how the liberal media is downplaying this victory. However, they do concede it was a litmus test for all gun control. One of the ousted Senators, Giron, even said, “For Mayors Against Illegal Guns, if they lose even one of these seats, they might as well fold it up. And they understand that.”

I will not forget either. Spent three weeks in NYC with the Red Cross.   Buildings were destroyed, others were closed off for safety, people were devastated, but there was a spirit of "we will not be defeated".   Of the 26 disasters I have worked it still sticks out in my mind.   Sad that so many, including most politicians,  have forgotten what radical Muslims did and what Muslim leadership has never condemned.

  There is a new breed that can do the same today. Problem is, like everything else, people cannot keep their mouths shut when they use them or no one has the balls to make the call to use them. They are used now but in such a small scale that it has no effect and are more of intelligence gathering roles than anything else.   The capabiilties of some of the civillian contracting companies is amazing. One even said they could stand up an armed force and have that force anywhere in the world quicker than our military. Pretty bold statement except they had all the equipment, aircraft and their own private airstrips to take off and land their own 747's. They said they could assist any of our allies with men, supplies and arms then bill them after assisting them. One of them even bought a fleet of Close Air Support fixed wing aircraft. I will say that they are generally better equipped than most of the military units they were embeded with. They also had more outside assets as a general rule depending on where they were.     Every single conflict we involve ourselves in creates more countries that gravitate toward those who seek to destroy or control us. We are getting involved in all these conflicts that drain our resources while those who want us to topple sit back and continue to build up. Our leaders are bowing down to other major players while stripping our military's budgets and capabilities. It is almost like those in power want us to fail when something big comes our way. Every major war that has been fought in the last 200 years has been fought on someone else's soil, this will not be the case for the next one. I only hope that nuclear weapons are not used. We are, and have been, at war with China for a very long time. They have been involved in industrial espionage as well as covertly assisting our enemies for a very long time. Our troops have found Chinese special forces imbedded with Al Qaeda and Taliban types in Afghanistan. As well as the Chinese arms that are routinely showing up in conflicts we are involved in. Al Qaeda and the Taliban are not buying these, they are being supplied. China has oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico while our government forbids US companies from drilling in the same locations.   What should have happened 30+ years ago is mind our own business when it comes to other country's affairs. Instead we have continually tried to "help" those counties by taking their stable government and destabilizing it. Then we throw our money at them hoping to buy their love which never happens. This drains our resources and contributes to the financial situation our country is in. And if for nothing else we should help our own citizens before helping out other countries.   We are heading towards a place we do not want to be. The teams are picking their players and it seems like more and more players are heading to the other team. We are at the top of most of most lists as far as military strength but Russia and China are number two and three. Those two combined are likely stronger than our own forces. We have replaced actual personnel with technology, I believe a huge mistake. We should not replace but suppliment our troops with technology. It takes boots on the ground to win ANY conflict. And when it comes to numbers of troops China has at least 4x what we do.

Except that if it wasnt for resellers I wouldn't have as much trouble finding the items in the first place.

  Yeps, it's all an immoral business, and laughable viewed over a longer context for anyone to call the US as the "good guys".   We armed and supported Shah Pahlavi, a dictator not any better than the ayatollahs that followed. Then armed Sadaam in Iraq to take on Iran. And incidentally, supplied some of the chemical WMD components that Sadaam used on the Kurds due to Reagan removing Iraq from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list.   If you throw in our overt and covert involvements all over the world in undeclared wars the US has been complicit in killing untold numbers of innocents, but of course the rallying cry here is always "It's For the Children". Right.   It's never really for "defense", but "American Interests". There is real justification for us being called "imperialists" by revolutionary groups around the world for 150 years. I suppose ultimately we can't be strict isolationists, but I give a lot of credence to the idea that we should be such as much as possible.   - OS

I said all along that - even though I eventually came to believe that he was not, technically, 'guilty' of breaking any law in the Martin shooting - Zimmerman is NOT and never was a person we needed to hold up as a 'poster boy' for the self defense/firearms carry community.  If he and his wife were both to join cloistered communities and never be heard from, again, I think we would all be better off for it.

If you have the flight info., name of stewardess or very specific description, and do a timeline of what happened to who then that individual can get disciplined. Send an e-mail to their BNA office, the airline and any customer service related companies that service them. From talking to flight attendants and crews - even the union will have a hard time saving said individuals job after a few incidents. I work for another carrier but my advice would be the same. We in the industry need to police ourselves better so more people would fly...

Well, this was a more interesting thread than I expected.

I'd like to see them charged with a civil rights conspiracy.

Hope it is a wakeup call to a bunch more of the politicians that support ridiculous gun control measures.  How can they think that restricting legal gun owners will have any effect on illegal or mentally deranged gun owners?   Or is it not about gun control but about control?

  I seriously don't care.  It's not TGO's place to police what people do with property they own.  It's a slippery slope and one we're not going down.
