I'm not talking about whatever rules they are making up for the current situation.  I'm talking about the actual purpose of the mask pre-pandemic.  Surgical staff don't wear PPE including masks to protect themselves from your nasty insides.  They wear the stuff, including the surgical mask that a ton of people are wearing now, to prevent parts of them from getting into the "sterile field" (their patient."   


Again, I am neither promoting mask wear or denouncing it.  I am merely applying definitions to words.

I guess it depends on who you ask...

I'm with Greg--I think their usefulness in limited and may be counterproductive.  I know I sure scratch at and fiddle with mine when I wear one.  It's a shame my eyes, nose, and mouth are so close to it, but whatever it takes to make people feel better.

Has anyone on this forum mandated masks? He was claiming we have commies on here because they have argued for the use of masks. I don't think anyone here has praised mask mandates but many have said that not wearing one may be a poor choice. Trump has also recently stated we should be wearing masks.

Stating we should is quite a jaunt from a mandate. The mandates are what piss me off. That and the mask nazis we have here on the forum.

Contrary to what you believe, Erik, you all are not going to die if I choose to not wear a mask.
