Where's your favorite Gun Range?

(I think this is "on-topic" but I didn't see a better topic area where to start this thread, feel free to re-locate if needed.)

I like to know where you guys and gals practice at, a local gun shop that has a range, a separate outdoor site or an indoor range or your back yard/private property?

Add links if you can.

Are the locations different between what you are using, handgun verses a rifle?

My closest range is Stones River on Hobson Pike or Gun City on Murfreesboro Rd. but my favorite site is Guns & Leather in Greenbrier. A little drive but I haven't found a better place or price for shooting my handguns. They do have a new store in Hendersonville but have yet used this range.

I really don't mind driving to a good site so I was curious of other ranges in TN.

What is it that you like about it?

What is your average time spent shooting?

How often do you go to the range and or you have a membership to a range?

BTW, I envy you guys who have your own property out of the way from the complainers. :)

The TWRA range you mentioned on Hobson Pike is my favorite. It's close to La Vergne, inexpensive, I like most of the RSO's, and they take safety even more serious than I do.

I've been wanting to go to G&L in Grenbrier too. I hear they have "movers" you can shoot at. Any idea how much?

G&L is $10.00 to shoot, cheapest I've found and they have memberships too.

I was hoping that with the past surge in firearms sales, since Hussein got elected, that the Reloading Bench in Mt. Juliet would enlarge with a range, and that shop in LaVergne would be a good site for a range too, (Speciality Arms)?

I'm lucky enough to be able to shoot on private property. I've got a place set up out at my buddies house where we can shoot whatever we want. We basically have a large mound of dirt piled up to stop the bullets and have a make shift target holder. It's by no means professional in any way. I'll go shoot at least once a month and usually run 200 rounds through my gun. The closest indoor range to me is over in Jackson at the Great Outdoor Store, but I have never been to it. I have heard it's pretty nice though, but it would be a couple hours drive for you to get there so it's probably not worth the drive if you have a local one that's suitable for you.

Currently, I am members of two shooting clubs: Music City Tactical Shooters and Gallatin Gun Club. Both are extremely reasonably priced. In the late spring or early summer 2011, I will be buying 40 to 60 acres of land and opening a membership based shooting range(from dawn to dusk) in the immediate area with 5 shooting bays and a steel city bay.

Immediate area being south Nashville? That would be awesome!
